Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Q: Do we have to attend the classes as teams? IMHO IT'd make more sense if people in the team specialized in different areas, not to mention not everyone is going to like the same class as the rest.
That would make the most sense, yeah. In the periods where choice is allowed, I'm pretty sure I'll be doing exactly that. If we're splitting off, it becomes all the more necessary to have other people to play the other teacher, though--if we even have teachers for certain spots.
Hm, I had assumed that since you didn't respond to my acceptance of your apology and further invitation, you thought I wasn't being sincere. Clearly that assumption was incorrect. I will be the first to admit that I chose my words poorly in making my example, and if that hurt your feelings, I take back my phrasing. Regardless, I need not remind you that the incident did occur, so passing reference to it in order to use it as something we can learn from is not bullying. I've been called out numerous times on other sites, but even if the words might sting, I bite the bullet and set them straight by proving them wrong. I would not hold it against you if you were to cast me in an unfavorable light among other RPers; I probably deserve it. I'm sure you'll not believe me anymore when I say that it's never my attention to hurt peoples' feelings--and you'd be right. Sometimes I do make someone feel bad, but really it is never for my own petty emotional reasons. If someone feels bad about a mistake they make, that person is all the more likely to correct it. I can see now that this has been a bad, insensitive approach to you. I am perfectly content to never mention you again, or speak to you again, unless you will it.
What type of practice happens in Practice class?
Target practice, dummy practice, obstacle courses, so on.
The deadline is....probably okay. The fight between Oswald and Sapphire is right at the end. We just have to tie up the after-battle bits, then consolidate everything and send it your way for editing and stuffs.
Sweet. I only suggest edits, though; I try not to be arbitrary unless someones being implausible. Like breaking out into rap.
@Narayan, such modesty is completely unnecessary. And I mean that--a person named Stella once tried to apply, then did what can only be described as a self-pity tantrum after I gave her sheet some criticism. Don't give a proverbial rat's ass about if your work makes someone comfortable; just keep around, keep improving, and everything will be fabulous. @Tear, in the interests of moving things forward, I'm authorizing you to make the recommended edits to your collab and post it. The main problem, and the only one that certain needs addressing, is that of a certain musical number. @Loki and Agent, I did indeed find all those separators hazardous to the flow and continuity of the piece. While not necessarily bad, you might ask me for feedback next time, as most of the other pairs did.
@Everyone
Several positions aim to be filled in Beacon's staff, and many of the older sheets need to be updated for phased out. For instance, I could modify Algernon's sheet, but someone with a better idea for an awesome math teacher could post theirs and harmlessly usurp the position. Basically, now is the time to make teacher sheets and volunteer to play those teachers. Please! Vent some ideas! Additionally, I am now putting in place a drop-dead-date, or 'D3'. Two days from now, on Sunday night, we're moving on. The collabs, finished or not, are consolidated, and we're heading to the next class. Since writing about history and math is fairly boring, I'll gloss over those, and we'll have lunch, and directly after that, two more periods that can be Grimm Studies, Practice, Survival, or Armory, and after that, a final period of psychology. Hell, I'll just put up the schedule on the OP. Make it a lot easier. Anyway, I'll want your collective opinion in deciding the schedule, so make some noise for me, okay? Confer with your team each day for which class you'll want to be in, for the choices. For instance, if the rest of SASG and I agreed, we could take Grimm studies one day, and Armory the next. The choices will allow us to split into smaller groups for more interaction in select classes.
I'll be avoiding the subject of semblance for now, since others have addressed that, and focus on instead: Snip out the backstory and named attacks and save them for later. Most all of our characters have bios, but I would rather them be explored IC than simply be revealed to everyone.
Let's not lose our focus, eh? Why don't we get embarked on this quest of ours?
So, just curious, who's fights have yet to be posted?
There's a section for this on the conference document at the bottom.
Alrighty. Here's your redo, Fazzer. Tentaclelord, you're on the receiving end!
At about the same time the final, near-concussive explosion echoed through the sparring arena, a figure slunk in through the classroom's open door. Unnoticed by the majority of the students, he serenely picked out a seat not too far from the main group while the Ivan and Merlin exchanged words and Goodwitch ushered them off the battleground. Taking care not to ruffle his gaudy red-and-brown outfit, he settled himself and removed a yoyo from his pocket, which he absentmindedly began to play with as he observed the new teams. A strange sort of smile graces his sharp features, mirroring the rather amused twinkle that pervaded his pastel-green eyes. In his hands, the golden-stringed yoyo moved as if it had a mind of its own. Even without its owner's full attention, it danced over his lap in a series of tricks that virtually nobody could call unimpressive. Paron surveyed the students as the next two got into position to begin their match. Most of them were over by now, so he knew that he had missed some noteworthy stuff, but what he didn't see he could partially glean from the chatting teenagers as they sat. He took note of each weapon and, when he could, tried to internalize each face. All this he did while toying with his yoyo and wearing that same strange smile—a spider's smile. It didn't escape his keen eyes that the members of the team he and his own team had attacked, Jormungandr, were present. He somewhat hoped that they wouldn't notice him and make a fuss, but at the same time, he rather did. Perhaps he could rope an aggressive freshman into challenging him one-on-one in the ring; if that happened, he would have to make sure not to use his semblance. Neither Kitty, Thistle, or he had used theirs during the battle with Jormungandr in the Forest of Forever Fall, not that Kitty knew what hers was, anyway. At this point, Paron doubted she even had one. A memory of the conversation reached him: he had mentioned it, and Kitty had irately reminded him that everything with a soul had a semblance, to which he had cheekily responded that she was, after all, a ginger. Though the remark had earned him a baton to the groin, the look on her face had been worth it. Regardless of the past, Paron still wanted to keep KPT's full abilities under wraps for the time being. His gaze shifted to the teacher's aide. Sarina was somewhat of a rival of his; she was the star student, in more ways than one, and he didn't doubt that he was a degenerate in her eyes at least. “Soch a stubborn lass,” he remarked in a Northern accent to nobody in particular.
