Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

With such different pacing right now, I think that was inevitable for most of us. If we left out even two posts somewhere down the line, we're lost in all of the future stuff that doesn't pertain to us. For now, we'll focus on our little groups, and afterward we can reunite. Once we're all aligned again, we can expand our scope to the bigger picture.
Maybe I could think of a new character, but the long, or really even short, term longetivty of them are very in question. I find sometimes that the character is more fun to create than the actual RP, or the concept of the RP.

I sometimes feel that way as well, because it's easier and more free to create a concept than to put it to use. Often enough, however, once I start playing and get a feel for the character, I grow to like playing as them a lot. For instance, in another RP I'm in centered around wizards, I made Fleo Plector, a dust mage who because of an illness in her childhood now has arms and legs made of dust. She was designed to be someone heavily affected by her disability, but to be very cheerful and youthful despite it, and as I played around a little more I realized that she had more or less come to life.

Some RPs never take off because people make characters and try to play them isolated, exactly as they wished to, without really working with other people or their surroundings. If that happens, the character never comes to life, and people lose interest and drop out.

I don't really have any specific advice to offer you. Maybe try something you have never tried before; that's something I do with most of my characters.
It says y'all are taking applications, but it looks like y'all are a good ways in to yer game already, so I thought I'd check if y'all are still taking student characters?

At this point, no student characters, sorry. I have the 'apply' setting still on because other people can come in as other roles, like villains, teachers, or seniors that help out students and oversee missions, but right now we're full up on students.
Technically Stone is a dark mage spell but since we're taking creative liberties anyway I figured we might as well give a little more elemental variety in the magic, not that it's been utilized.

Not just yet, still working on them.

Name: Hannah Kabal
Age: 13
Class: Mage
Weapons: Elfire Tome
Fighting Style: Setting things on Fire with her strong inate magical prowess and laughing manically.
Personality: Hannah is, rather a crazy pyromanic. Which, suits her magic, but is also really problematic for everyone that isn't her. To her, fire is pretty, fire dances at her command, and nothing can not be improved with fire. Even fire can be improved with More Fire. She does understand that there are some people that should not be set on fire, but in a combat situation, everything that might possibly be an enemy, close to the enemy, or related to the enemy's position is coated with a generous helping of Fire.
History: Hannah was a normal girl who lived on a farm. She had a lovely little life for her, and her family. There was flowers, rainbows and happy things aplenty. She had no idea about her magical abilities, since her family decided to keep that part of her away, in hopes that she would not grow up to be a Mage and instead stay at home and live life with them on the farm. They never hid the fact that they were not her real parents from her, but Hannah liked them, so never pushed the point. The desire for normality perished along with practically everything when Hannah set her house on fire in response to a nightmare she had. The flames flickered and danced around her bed, incierating everything with a primal lack of mercy that only fire would have, while leaving her entirely unscalthed. When she woke up in the morning, the realization that her house had burned to the ground, and her family had died troubled the girl. In a 'her mind shattered into tiny pieces and only the flickering embers held her interest' kind of way.

Hannah then got up, and still in her nighty stumbled into the nearest town, a few miles away, to find something to do. She couldn't comprehend what she had just done, and all she knew was that fire grew whenever she willed it to, and made her giggle as she marveled in it's beauty. Something in the back of her mind told her to seek out her true parents, but another part of her told her that the bakery smelled nice, and so she listened to the second one instead of the first.
Rationale: Hannah has two reasons to join. The first, being that she is bored, and likes the company of people for those shattered shards that might once have been called a mind. The second, is that she wants to find her real parents, or though that is more of an inherent desire more than an actual reason to live.
Appearance: Hannah is a young girl, rather small but cute in her youth and able to go places others can not, since few people look twice at the young teenager until she is melting their eye sockets. She has piercing blue eyes, and short hair, as red and wavy as the fire she so obsessively controls. Her clothing is usually a dress of some discription, and her hair is always up in a pony tail.

This is actually the second young female fire mage we have. Plus we're overpopulated on mages. And not only would a king assign a superpowered mental patient to an important group, but our group wouldn't recruit her if we encountered her.

I hate to do this, but I'm going to have to deny that sheet. Please don't take it personally.

I don't know if it was aked before, but when are we starting? No hurry though

After the remaining people that I mentioned say that they weren't interested after all or come in and start making their characters, we'll get going.
Hey @Lugubrious whose the Captain of the Reclaimers? I mean obviously it's your character and you have yet to write the sheet otherwise it'd be in the Character Tab but do you have some ideas as to who he or she might be?

Yep, I do have some ideas.
As promised! Trinity and Zephyr, with poses and backgrounds!

@Lugubrious
I didn't see any Clerics or Pegasus Knights either >_< Do you mind if I make those? Maybe a Wyvern Rider too if I have the time.

No problem, feel free. I think someone else talked about making a Pegasus Knight, but go ahead. Two character limit though, as Raven said.
@Lugubrious
So what classes are we lacking so far? I don't want to make something we already have a bunch of or anything.

Right now, we have swordsmen and mages aplenty. We also have one archer and one lance-user. So we're low on lancers, axemen, and really anyone riding anything.
Fleo Plector – Phoenix Backyard

Still advancing, Fleo heard Trinity call out her spell, and hypothesized that several arrows would be coming her way. The explosion of the first fire arrow against her bulwark left a dent, as well as several small chunks of fused dust that resembled quartz, but left the shield itself intact. Now sure of her plan of action, Fleo continued to push forward, until a slightly whistling noise alerted her too late. Though the stunning cold of the minstrel's ice arrows eluded Fleo, their effect remained, and out of nowhere she found her progress completely stymied. Looking down at her feet, she discovered them entrapped in ice. A quick solution immediately popped into her mind, one perhaps doable given that she was hidden behind her shield. At that moment, unfortunately, Trinity's barrage of fire arrows pounded the bulwark, trying its cohesion and strength. It wouldn't last her much longer.

With a shoving motion, Fleo pushed the shield Trinity's way. It glided along the ground toward her, rather quick but with no capability of changing trajectory. Taking a chance, Fleo severed the connection between her dust legs and her dust feet, allowing her to step out of the encumbering ice and immediately form new feet for use. Some of the bandages around her ankles tore slightly, but at this stage in the long con, it was practically instinct to manipulate her bandages to recover the exposed area in less than a second.

That obstacle dealt with, Fleo refocused on her opponent. Undoubtedly Trinity had dealt with the thrown shield by now, so a new defense was needed. “Dust Craft: Orbitals!” Miniature, more compacted shields form around Fleo in the air, six of them in fact, and began to orbit her. Relying on them to catch any arrows sent her way, via straight shot, trick shot, or whatever, Fleo slid forward on a Sirocco to finish closing the gap. “Dust Craft: Morning Star!” In the dusty woman's hand appeared a macelike weapon with a round head covered in nubs. While a typical morning star would have had metal spikes, it seemed that Fleo didn't want to hurt her guildmate.

If Angelo was paying attention, and had any knowledge of Fleo's abilities, he'd know that she was both playing mostly defensively and using the weakest variety of her spells by making her incantations in English.

Edith Riggs – the Frenzy Fort

Though the sight of Thor succumbing to her Avversario Adagio sparked a great joy in Edith, her happiness was short lived. Her newly-gained speed boost served her poorly against an attack like Shockwave, which covered the whole ground at once, despite the terrible conductivity of wooden floorboards. Edith almost tripped and fell flat on her face when the Shockwave surged through her ankles, flaring a sudden pain. “Agh!” Just as quickly, however, the pain died away, courtesy of Thor's self-control. Another chord was on Edith's lips as Thor's Lightning Ball impacted her, jolting electricity through her torso. Unprepared for such a blow, the girl staggered.

When it came to attack power or defending herself, Edith knew she was beat, but sustain was her strong suit. From the get-go, it had been her plan to try and afflict her opponent with status effects while boosting herself, and to let Thor exhaust herself, or at least open herself up for Edith's few offensive chords. Cautiously deciding it was time to recover, she straightened up and sang, “Stesso Guarire!” The notes she played sounded out a reinvigorating tune, and it washed away Edith's hurt and fatigue to let her face Thor with a renewed smile. “Nothing like a good heal, right? Try this on for size: Vivace con Fuoco!” A strumm of Edith's lure sent a lively but searing red-hot wave at Thor.

Nero – Train Station near Iron Enigma

It never ceased to fascinate Nero how Ayame reacted to various things. Her spirit, though unlike that of most children, shone large and lively. More than before, he pondered whether or not the girl had magic; he had always assumed so, since wizards tended to associate with wizards and normals with normals, but even at Iron Enigma the young one hadn't shown any trace of her abilities. And maybe if I do a swell job of looking out for her, she never will have to.

“Well, we're bound for Dragon Fang in Shirotsume next. That's a couple of hours by train, so we'll have plenty of time to figure out how the hex we're gonna deal with the cat moron.” Though nearly closed, his eyes twinkled. “Get it? Hex? Because a hex is a type of mag...ah, I forgot to never explain my jokes. Jokes are a kind of magic too, you know; depending on how well you cast them, you can make people think the world of you or hate you forever.” Looking at Ayame now, Nero was almost startled to see the utterly wonderful expression on her face. Perhaps he wasn't the biggest smiler on Fiore after all!

When faced with Ayame's following question, however, Nero couldn't help but feel confused. “We're here...to take the train? Yeah, that's definitely it. Er, after that, I dunno. I went to Frenzy Plant before going to Phoenix Wing. With FP, PW, IE, and DF out of the way, I'm not sure who else is participating.”

Not long after, the dynamic duo were seating on the train, and with a thundering whistle it began to move. Nero grinned at Ayame as the vehicle picked up speed. “Is it everything you dreamed of?”
