Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

@Conmhara I think it just shows which character you are playing as and where they are.... or it makes it look more pretty.

Off note anyone know how to hang a Flail? The weapon flail, it aint a flag like Google thinks

How to hang a flail? I'm pretty good with medieval weapons info, but I haven't encountered that turn of phrase before.
Yeah, it's a plot device. Kho and I collaborated on that post. The fact that they were so easy to convince and Escre didn't notice means that it's likely going to be screwed over big time. If you need more reasoning, Kho can tell you.
Rats...it looks like I made yet another typo involving colors on the collab.

Sorry to keep you up, Caits. I located the place where the error occurred in the titanpad document and have fixed it. If you could edit in the new version, I'd very much appreciate it.
@Lugubrious

Do you want Ialu to hear the message (being a demigod and all) and respond? We haven't interacted at all yet.

While I would like to interact with you, I don't think there'd be a good reason for Escre to include demigods in its message.

Escre, the Great Spirit

It was with silence that they responded. Escre's plea rang through the empty spaces, it reached even the farthest expanses of the created universe. The powers guarding this new and vulnerable world did not need such a great plea to have heard it, but the desperation of a god was more difficult to ignore than the prayers of desperate mortals. Time was very depending on where one existed within the universe, but it was after the passing of the thirtieth minute that space began to bend and mutate before Escre.

'You plan, and We plan,' the voice echoed and emerged from the very sinews of the universe. Slowly, from the mutating and bending space emerged that same wisp-like existence from pre-existence. That power which had called forth the gods.
'And what is Your scheming and Your plotting before Our schemes and Our plots...'

Then silence reigned and the wisp hung there. Perhaps it was staring at Escre, perhaps it was waiting for him to speak. Perhaps.

Escre hung there, still as death. Had it been made with the capacity, it might have trembled in fear. To these cosmic beings, Escre was as a mortal to a god. Knowing full well that gods could take away as abruptly as they began, the Great Spirit hesitated to consider the oblivions that awaited it if it stepped out of line. "Since the beginning, I have endeavored to fulfill the purpose set for me. I created the Astral Home and made it possible for Galbar, the first world, to be filled with life. Vowzra, too, has done his part, and Undasis, and the rest. But the gods are flawed. One could make something wonderful, but the next could want to play with it, and the next to corrupt it, and the next to destroy. Nothing good can stay as long as there are gods too drunk with power and self-indulgence to contibute to a meaningful universe. My plan...is to eradicate the gods. To destroy their physical forms so that they are mere essences, capable of influence still, but ephemeral enough that mortals would be troubled to even prove our existences. To that end I have begun to stitch together the Pattern. The Astral Home and Forever Fall make two out of seven Seals."

"But even now, Chaos threatens to tear down this plan, and corrupt the entirity of Galbar. I know why Vestec came to be, how order and chaos are a balance in and of themselves. But Vestec has betrayed his purpose. What he is doing will leave only chaos in the universe, tearing down the balance forevermore. I would be unable to create life untainted by chaos. What I beg from you is power. The power to repulse Vestec and Astarte, his mindless minion, to restore the Astral Home, and to continue the creation of the Pattern. Once the gods cannot wreck havoc on the universe on the most petty whim, true marvels of creation can be made. I can perform the duty of every god, without ever giving in to self-indulgence. I alone am fit for this power. For this, it is in your most holy names that I pray."

The wisp hung there silently. It gave no hint at what it thought of Escre's words - in fact, could it think? It was simply silent for a while, until its response came.
'What makes You think that We did not wish for it be as such?' the echoes asked. But they waited for no response.
'I like those who have ambition,' and with that it disappeared and all things returned to what they were. Within the Astral Home a light shone and slowly began to pervade the holy site. The Fortress Bastion too experienced such a light, and that pervaded it. Wherever the light shone, the corruption within the Astral Home disappeared. The light worked slowly, however. The Astral Home's corruption would not be removed for a long while yet, a week in Galbar's time.

Escre would feel the change in his holy sites, and he would feel the strain from sustaining them suddenly gone. He had been gifted a thing most powerful indeed. If it had a mouth, the Great Spirit would have smiled then, for it knew that its plan had been blessed by the gods of gods. Knowing that even if Vestec were removed the corruption would still linger for a week or so, Escre began its slow trip back toward Galbar, and sent the Execrable Chaos a message. "Alright, Vestec, you've had your fun, but your corruption can go no further. Due to the Astral Home's connection to the spirit of every living thing on the planet, if you persist everything will be tainted, and I will be forced to recall all souls and eliminate all life on the planet. That wouldn't leave you much room to have fun, will it?"
Hey Inu, want to collab an entry post between Eroneus and Escre?

I am astonished to see that it has been at least a week and only two of the gods who received Escre's message have even acknowledged that they've heard it. I can understand Vowzra because of Kho's work on that monster post, at least.

Oh, and Jetipster is gone. I sent him a PM about this RP some time ago and he hasn't even responded.
Hey, I know i'm late, but a friend just referred me to this. May I join?

Certainly. What class were you thinking of joining as?
Yeah.

What's the point of RPing with Greek god+ power if you can't be a d-d-d-dickhead?
Are we doing video game style supports where they all have the same general topic throughout or can we just have the characters chill with each other in a unique way each time?

Please, unique.
Zander – The First Challenge

Zander had not permitted himself to partake wholly in the excited, anticipatory spirit permeating the guild. Such an act of indulgence would blunt his razor-sharp rationale and reasoning, he thought, and make him more susceptible to surprise. In preparation for the Games, Zander had taken it upon himself to read everything about the most recent iteration he could find; that is, the Games from a hundred years ago, when Fairy Tail had pulled a clutch comeback to snatch the win from the dreaded Sabertooth. It hadn't been the tales of valor, skill, and strength that had occupied the Ruby Knight, however. He had been more concerned with the antics of the devious dark guild Raven Tail, and the harrowing Eclipse ordeal that followed the games. Looking out at the city before entering the colosseum, he could not imagine dragons rampaging through it even a century before. To think that the world had been that close to annihilation, if not for the cooperation of the guilds. It gave good reason to be so wary, Zander thought. You never know what to expect.

He certainly hadn't expected either the first group challenge or the fact that he'd be participating in it. When he heard that he'd be the one to face his own fear, he was at first quizzical. What exactly terrified him? Truly, he hadn't a clue. The pain and death of allies hurt him deeply, but he didn't think that they would cause him to clench up in terror. Various foes he'd encountered over the years deserved fear and respect both, but did not hold any special psychological sway over the Ruby Knight. Even the unknown, that hazy, unnameable entity for which he was always so cautious, didn't overly faze him, for he was prepared for it. What is it I fear? he thought again, as he took up his starting position with the other competitors. When Sheldon told all to begin, he took off running into the strange, curvy maze with a resolute, clanking stride.

After entering the maze, he unsheathed his sword from his waist. He knew not his enemy, but he knew that one lurked within these funky, inflatable turns, and he'd always greeted a dangerous situation well armed. Gradually, as he explored the maze, it began to grow dark, as if a passing storm was overhead. Zander pressed onward, trying to remember if he had been scared of storms as a child. Could whatever magic system that presided over this maze reach back that far? As it continued to grow darker, he grew more and more alert, until -very unceremoniously- everything went white.

White? But shouldn't it be black? Zander couldn't see a thing. He tried in vain to remove whatever was obscuring his vision, but it would not fade. The Ruby Knight could still feel his sword, the weight of his armor, the heat of the sun, and the walls of the maze, but his sense of sight had utterly failed him. ”Blind...so that's it.” At that moment it clicked. His cautious nature meant that he was ready to fight, challenge, or solve any problem that came his way...unless he was unable to fight them. Zander knew that those early morning minutes when the world was hideously blurry were the times he was most ill at ease. If he couldn't see, he was nearly helpless to defend himself, his friends, his home, anything. ”Very clever”

He forged onward, using his sword and hands to guide himself. Knowing he must have looked the fool, he groped through the whiteness, seeking out walls and staying always on the right side. Strange noises, whispers and growls and sinister laughs, began to echo through the maze. Now, Zander reasoned, since he was unable to properly defend himself against the unknown, the unknown was coming to get him. It was frightening—truly, the most frightening thing that Zander knew. But he knew that he wouldn't let himself succumb to those fears, like a lesser man would. Navigating his way across the maze's right side, he made less than spectacular time, but kept his nerve despite the increasing noises around him, including footsteps. He even began to feel things brushing against him, branches, grasses, tentacles, hands, and more. Before too long, however, Zander found himself walking down a slight elevation change. Abruptly, the white void vanished while the world returned, and Zander found himself standing over the limp, prone bodies of Jackie and Lazarus. ”Third. Curse my body, I wasn't fast enough.”

His Frenzy Plant comrades didn't seem to mind, though. Before entering the colosseum, they had all been issued two-foot, tube-shaped noise makers, dubbed 'dongers' for the sound they made when clubbed against one another. Now, seeing their main man triumph over the maze, the soldiers raised their dongers amidst energized cheers. ”Could have been worse. Those two look rather worse for wear. And taking it less carefully might have led me into dead ends. Better next time.” Noticing a strange, green fluid on parts of his armor, he took care to wipe it off. "Eugh."
