Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

What lull? The one in the arena?
What a bizarre-looking creature. Honestly, I can't tell why you think that thing's cute. Try this on for size:

This is an actual real animal: the Venezuelan Poodle Moth. I'll be darned if it isn't the fluffiest bug in the world. Isn't it wonderful?
What's your stance on introducing random characters as NPCs to interact with, Gray Star? You did it with the Russian woman, but it could always be a GM-exclusive power.

@Lugubrious

Vampires, overlords, knights, and maybe concrete mixers, oh my.

Oh yeah.
Penny can hunt him down and Trinity can go off to bump into Nero? She has a new wish to make that she feels more earnestly about. @Lugubrious

Fine by me.
Midnight Squad, go ahead and conduct your own mission based around the parameters I previously established for you. Feel free to make up any details that I did not, such as appearances of other characters, room layouts, potential complications, and so forth. Have fun!
Mission Start

With Violet gone to break Volk out from his cinderblock hotel, the remaining members of Midnight Squad could begin their own operation. In no time at all, Amber, Valin, and Akashi were on their way to the hospital. Though hardly the most law-biding of men, they made sure to adhere to proper traffic laws, for to seek unwanted attention by driving erratically or neglectfully would be most unwise. As far as congestion went, the streets were passable. Workers of all kinds were commuting for lunch, but not with out density to provide a major obstacle. In midday, the city of Vale hosted a certain lively bustle that might have even been nice if not for the carriage of malicious intent surging down the road.

The hospital drew into sight. Their vehicle the agents left a half-block away from the actual area, for the sake of any future pursuit. Though this job constituted the first performed by Midnight Squad proper, none of its members were strangers to less-than-honest endeavors. Since the well-laid plan lay within them, there was no need to talk as they made the final stretch of the journey on foot. There, Amber and Akashi separated from their third. Just as the two infiltrators pushed through the front doors, the bus containing the class of the mayor's daughter rolled up, ready to disgorge its young passengers. Clearly, there was no time to hang around.

Abel Fulgurate

A nod came in reply to Krysanthe's affirmation. Abel followed quick on her heels, helping to shove another table into the massive and disfigured congregation already there. He pulled out a chair for his new friend before seating himself, not really thinking about it. When Shiro appeared from nowhere and visited a greeting dual parts wild and joyous upon Gren. Abel exhaled through his nose in short bursts—the extent of a somber man's laugh for an embarrassing teammate. While the guardian lauded Shiro for his enthusiasm, he nevertheless fretted that Shiro's excessive energy and impetuousness might cast his whole team in a bad light. Happiness and goofiness was all well and dandy, but Abel firmly knew that he would much rather be taken seriously. It would be a tricky path to both become Shiro's friend and avoid becoming as big a joke as he, but it was a path that Abel had sworn himself to.

Like the others, he listened to Gren's plans and found them acceptable. He didn't think much about transportation, figuring that as Gren's teammate he'd be getting a ride, no fuss. Instead, Abel requested Krysanthe's sandwich order, chose one for himself, and went over to the counter to pay for and get them. The whole layout of the tables and chairs, about as orderly as one might expect from a bunch of teenagers, proved problematic for him; his size and long legs meant that he nearly tripped trying to extract himself from his seat. After gathering the sandwiches and thanking the cashier, he returned to the table and plopped down Krysanthe's in front of her. “Bon appetit,” he declared, figuring it to be something cool people said, and proceeded the labor of seating himself.
While initially Clotho felt a degree of indignation that so many allies had appeared to aid her, she ultimately trusted in the Master's judgment and began incorporating the wealth of new talent and power into her plan. Surprisingly few of the new arrivals approached her, but nevertheless the swarm queen was on hand to respond to any who did. Just as her scheming reached its end, and her various papers and maps gathered neatly off to the side of her makeshift table, Clotho became aware of the air's changing temperature. Immediately her mind raced to discern exactly why such an event would be occurring, and she figured out who might be approaching her an instant before that individual arrived. Her eyes were drawn to the searing brilliance of the fire demon. “Greetings, Torrens. Long time no see. The attack is indeed about to begin, in only a few minutes in fact. My remaining Macula above have informed me that the dwarves, despite my best efforts, have readied themselves for an attack from below. I was hoping to speak to you or another elementalist, in fact, for you are precisely what I need. They expect to be fighting creatures, beasts or soldiers, but instead I will give them an inferno. I would like to send you straight into the heart of their mining operation, to fill their great shafts and cavern buildings with fire from which there will be no escape.”

She glanced over her shoulder briefly, employing a gleaming emerald compound eye to ensure that Twitch, too, was listening. ”Meanwhile, I will give the signal for my Antlions to collapse the upper passages. In one fell swoop their walls, buildings, and settlement will be undermined and in a tumult. In addition, holes will be opened up for our soldiers to pour from and overwhelm them. First wave will be my Lambent, zooming from the holes with my Myrmidons in their clutches and dropping them into position. From there the Lambent will provide aerial support for the entire horde, including the other champions and Xahillion. Remember, we are fighting to eradicate the enemy, but also to possess their things. Destroy nothing needlessly.”

Twenty minutes later, the signal was given, and with a thunderous, bone-shaking series of cracks and rumbles, the attack began.
<Snipped quote by Lugubrious>

I feel like the IC has progressed too much for me to jump in. Characters are starting things with other characters, and I feel like my guy would be a pest to your guys. Plus I can't think up a good introduction post. :S

There's been almost no progress whatsoever, your character is very welcome, and you did already make an introduction post. http://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/3000706
Fleo Plector – Phoenix Wing Stands

@Zarkun

Fleo nodded sagaciously. ”Ah, okay, I gotcha. I'm also sorta out here to see what the world has to offer. Actually, it's more or less my life goal. I had a pretty...confined childhood, so now that I can go wherever I want I'm making sure to take everything in I can. Places, people, culture, guilds, games, nothing's too lowly or obscure to be worthy of attention. The thought made her smile, and she looked out, not at the empty arena, but at the immense variety of people who wreathed it.

Indigo Afina – Painting Booth

@liferusher

Though Indigo maintained her regal demeanor at first, her confidence began to ebb when Isla turned the situation around. Sure, the Librarian had ultimate power over Isla in terms of combat, but she also knew nothing about how the wretched girl's magic operated. One false move could mean the end of Ike. Even if she were to use an order to demand Isla's compliance, she couldn't be sure of a resolution that completely suited her. Without any clue how Paint Magic worked, Indigo couldn't issue a specific order, and the more broad an order was the easier it was to find loopholes, abuse wiggle room, and generally not cooperate.

Gingerly, Indigo picked up the painting and tucked it beneath her arm. Though the situation seemed impossible, she knew that with enough time Ike would be freed. True soldiers didn't leave one another behind. When Isla mentioned restoring her leg, however, the Librarian was able to look down the bridge of her nose imperiously at her and sneer, ”It seems like neither of us will be able to get exactly what we want. I suspect my magic has severed the nerves that allow you to use your leg. They'll be fixed in time, just like Ike.” The Librarian gave Isla a mocking bow before turning and striding away. As she went, she called to the people who remained around the painting booth, ”Trust this girl at your own peril. She is as good as a demon who feeds on pride and steals you away.” A few moments later, and Indigo was gone. There had been no flashy magic, no monologues about the power of friendship, and no fight, but all the same justice had triumphed over a small evil.

Ni Rensa – Frenzy Plant Stands

@Raijinslayer

”You know the west entrance to the arenya? There's a whole heap of vendors down nya, including the churros!”

None other than Ni Rensa had appeared by Argus's left side. In the middle of the great lull that had settled over the Doma Flau due to the paucity of spectacles, the War Sphinx still looked excited and upbeat. She'd been utterly tickled by the Crimson Demon's comment about her appearance, and having followed him up toward Enma, proved only too happy to keep on talking. ”You left so fast, I didn't get to thank nya for the compliment! Nyobody's really scared of me or anyathing like that, but usually the only people who go outta their way to talk to me are the...” Ni Rensa's face grew terribly serious all of a sudden, even developing a sharp-toothed scowl. ”...the fur fetishists.” Clearly, this soldier didn't shy away from saying whatever came to mind. She fixed Argus with a glance that said Can you believe it? ”I mean, seriously. Isn't it obvious that I'm a meanya ceruleanya fightin' machinya? But whatever! Who the heck are you?” After changing topics, her features were once again their bright, inquisitive selves.

Nero the Genie – Crocus Street

@invisible man@liferusher

In reply to Eve's suggestion Nero offered an affirmative nod. ”I'm always down for downtime. What do you think, Aya?” As of yet, Ayame had not responded either to the other dark mages' presence or words. He hoped a period of isolation from her friends, even if very brief, hadn't locked her into some sort of 'panic mode' where she'd allowed her shyness and anxiety to overwhelm her mind. The idea popped into Nero's head that he'd definitely be able to remove those problematic traits from her psyche, but immediately afterward the genie chastised himself for the thought. The Law of Manifestation wasn't something to be used on friends in any situation short of a dire emergency.
I think I'm gonna drop out.

Thanks for having me though! :P
