Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Update made for Henry!
Those three stipulations should not be a problem for me.

I will make sure to be cognizant of limits for Henry's abilities. Adapting the durability system from Awakening to give the tomes a certain number of 'uses' before they're depleted and must passively recharge is one way, but I'll also tie the casting of magic to Henry's being as well. The dark arts will have a negative effect on Henry corresponding to what they do to others.

I was curious about the lack of a personality section, actually. In my eyes this is a necessary adjustment, and I'm happy to add to my sheet while you continue to work the RP together.
Ah, Guilty Gear has such cool characters. It's hard to go wrong.

I'll play Henry, if you like.

Re Firebrand gates: That's pretty much exactly what I was asking, thank you.

Re Skype handle: I already gave it to you up above. professional.protagonist

Oh, I totally misinterpreted that. My mistake.
Good work, team!
Two things.

1) Could I adapt the Firebrand to my Gates to make flaming Hellgates of fiery death for smaller enemies?

2) There's a group skype chat and nobody told me? D: professional.protagonist for invite!

I think that the Gates magic is too complicated to be enhanced by the somewhat primal Firebrand Trigger. It could make it so that going through the gate burns it, perhaps, but it won't link to any extraplanar realms of torment.

Sure. Just give me your handle and I'll toss you an invite.
Ah, okay. I gave an explanation when asked in the skype chat, but I hadn't realized that it was a request in the thread proper. Here's what I said:

Me) Firebrand Trigger is a molten enhancement that offers several baseline advantages, but its greatest strength is the way it adapts to a person's own talents.
Kafka) Is one of those baseline advantages resistance to fire?
Me) I'd say immunity to the ordinary fire element.
Something like hellfire might still be a problem, or some sort of holy or dark fire, but normal fire doesn't compare.
When active, Firebrand Trigger gives the user's body a fiery aspect. It alters skin to a fiery, stony appearance. For physical fighters, it might change armor into sculpted volcanic stone and fuse it with the skin, creating a lava golem-esque appearance, and perhaps enhance musculature and/or size.
Magicians might receive an effect on their clothing that makes it look is if it were burning, or seeded with embers, which increases magic rather than physical protection.
Weapons could also be enhanced. A two-handed longsword might become a sharp-edged slab of magmatic stone, always burning. A magic staff might develop a fire gem at the tip that glows like a furnace, adding fire to spells.
Basically, Firebrand Trigger offers a lot of player freedom to tailor it to your own character.
Right now, I am most interested in playing one of the four:

Birdie, from Street Fighter V
Henry, from Fire Emblem Awakening
Velouria, from Fire Emblem Fates
Filia, from Skullgirls

Having a hard time narrowing it down, though.
