Alright, gang! Here it is. It’s finally all come together and I’m super excited to get started.

Thanks to each of you for the effort you’ve put in so far. Let’s have fun with this!

I’ve put together a Google Doc with the prologue, some visuals/moodboards, my CS and the assignments. It’s something we can build on and expand as we go but the first two assignments are lined up and ready for you guys to take a look at.

I figured we’d start by each of us posting our finished Character Sheets below by way of introduction. Then I’ll kick off the IC with a starter post shortly ^^

Is everyone happy with discussing nitty gritty in the OOC here? When it comes to RPing side characters, I think we can each get involved as little or as much as we’d like? But the plot will likely demand quite a bit of dabbling with side characters. Long as we all feel comfy doing that?

Here it is:

I’m simply gagging to do a “Slow Horses” esque RP. A glorious mix of espionage and policing set in London. We’d play a merry band of disgraced ex-MI5 agents of varying stature, united by a desperate, failing police force. “Rogue Row” - Where the nation’s most promising, disgraced agents are sent to be kept in a limbo of active service and exile.

This is modern-day London. A greyed city, seemingly constantly in a shroud of mist and light rain. 9.1 million inhabitants, a hub of many cultures and varying degrees of wealth, all united by the financial and emotional strain of keeping up with the merciless London pace. Something has shifted in the city of London. The pressures of the rat race, the catastrophic political decisions of the government, new age living… The wave of unrest amongst Londoners has forced a palpable change.

The Metropolitan Police released updated figures depicting that in the last 12 months, the Major Crimes Units have been the busiest they’ve been in years. A steady increase in crime rates through the 2000s has left the Metropolitan Police saturated with unsolved cases. The Forces are overworked and underfunded. Officers are stretched, departments strained, recruitment less than fruitful. The people of London aren’t applying to be in the force anymore. They’ve, understandably, lost faith in the system. So, with dwindling budgets and little promise of stars rising through the ranks, Major Crimes Units and the National Crime Agency alike are at a crossroads.

Homicides are steadily rising, acts of extreme violence are multiplying and the paperwork is drowning the police. Dire straights require intervention, and fast. The MET, unwillingly, cry for help. They need a team of experienced, hardy professionals to act as their covert back-up and MI5 have just the solution: Rogue Row.

These agents are ex-field. They were, at one stage, the best of the best. Starring MI5s finest turned disgraced misfits, Rogue Row was born. Intelligence officers, Analysts, Surveillance Officers, Foreign Language Analysts, Computer Forensic Experts, Technicians, Behavioural Scientists, Procurement Specialists… All of them united by one commonality: They fucked up once upon a time, big time. MI5 exiled them. But they’re too good to waste.

Policed by the Deputy Director General, Rogue Row are to be kept under close watch. They’ll be tasked with supporting the MET in major cases proving highly complex in nature. They’re to do all the dirty work, all the leg work… With none of the credit. Payroll is the only evidence that these pariahs exist. Should it all go wrong? Compromised, killed or worse? London’s police force and Intelligence Agencies will feign ignorance. Rogue Row will be denied, dismissed as nothing but a bunch of bitter, obsessive ex-agents unable to let go.

But for now? Rogue Row has been conceptualised. Recruitment is underway. The Deputy General and her People Team are scouring the files of failed agents, cast out of the service. They shortlist only the best. The best of the worst. And that is better than anything the MET can cobble together, it seems. Rogue Row is a last-ditch attempt to clean up the streets of London and there is a lot of work to be done.

I’m thinking at least 4/5 of us would be a good crowd. I’ll be playing the Lead Agent in direct comms with the Deputy General to pitch assignments and help guide/control the narrative. But I want us to have fun! Solve crimes!

Some general rules to keep in mind:

• This is a Casual RP with Advanced writing requirement. Post regularity isn’t as strict as multiple per day, but the posts that are curated have to be of a certain standard. I’d love to see some creative, ambitious and excitable RPers to match my passion for this plot.

• Major twists and turns, actions that will totally alter the direction of the story, should be cleared by me before they roll out. I want us all to have autonomy but not at the cost of a controllable, sensible narrative.

• Let’s partake in a good amount of OOC chat. It’s essential with a plot like this one. That’s where the fun really brews!

I won’t waste our time with pleasantries nor will I be wasting breath on company benefits, bleating some brainwashing bullshit about how this is your second chance... We both know there’s no dental insurance or gym memberships for Rogue Row Recruits. Frankly, we’ve barely got a functioning Nespresso Machine.

I’ll start by thanking you for your time and consideration, Agent. It’s not easy for any of us being here. Deputy General and I spent an unnerving amount of time scouring the database for… Well… Agents like you.

The brief is simple. MET’s in the shit. Deeply. We’re the rescue squad. Buck stops with us now. Guess the squeaky clean ain’t cleaning up. Funny that… We’ll be working entirely out of this miserable office building with no access to MI5 resources nor staff nor a working boiler. It’s just us. But I’m getting ahead of myself. And anyway, you read the Info Pack we couriered, right? Disposed of it as instructed, yes? Good.

Let’s start with the elephant in the room, shall we? Tell me about why you’re at Rogue Row and not at HQ?

Character Concept

An Internal Security and Vetting agent who caught on to some "inconsistencies" of a rising star in MI5. She pushed too hard and too quickly and the investigation showed "lack of sufficient evidence" on her part, so the person was never questioned or investigated. She was "relieved" of her current job and re-assigned, moreso to push her down and suppress her. Eventually, a scandal revealed that the agent she suspected was a bad egg and was caught up in a lot of bad stuff, but she was never given credit and another agent was given the recognition she deserved. So she is very cynical of MI5, but she still does her job.

CS template pending for some elaborated character development. I love the idea of someone being anti-MI5 amongst Rogue Row. Ironic that she’ll be rubbing shoulders with some technical bad eggs in the organisation, too. Think there’s good scope for a really interesting play here!

Going to throw in my interest, and I've already been brewing a concept (see hider). Just let me know if it's the sort of disgraced msifit you're looking for in terms of role and function, but the idea struck me immediately after reading your prologue.

Character pitch

A forensic pathologist and Home Office consultant, built on precision and restraint. Someone trusted to handle sensitive deaths tied to intelligence and counter-terror operations. Exile came not from error or misconduct, but refusal. In a politically delicate custody death, the official explanation did not align with the evidence: restraint injuries, delayed medical response, a pattern that suggested accountability rather than accident. Asked first to reconsider, then to reframe. Neither happened. The report was submitted as written and stood by. The fallout was quiet and efficient—contracts withdrawn, access restricted, a reputation marked “difficult” in the right places. Credentials remain intact, competence unquestioned, but no longer welcome where narratives matter more than truth. Rogue Row values this precisely: findings are not bent to fit a story, but is reconstructed from what the dead cannot lie about.

Okay there is much to unpick here… But may I begin by saying: I love your tone of voice. It’s so rare to come across an RPer here in the Guild, seeking new projects, that has such strong personality woven into their words. A pleasure to read. I laughed, I nodded and clicked at the absolute bars that were dropped…

Honestly? I found this IC the most interesting I’ve come across in a long time. I was a member years ago and I returned a little while back post hiatus. I’ve got a of couple RPs on the go… But I really am looking to flex my writer’s muscles a little more. Your IC ignited something in me but honestly? I don’t know where to begin with your plot suggestions.

Each of them are like little canapés in a Tasting Menu at a fine dining restaurant; Enough to whet the appetite but ultimately an indicator of what’s to come, right?

I so badly want to just jump in on one of them, namely the Prince of Daydreams, but I am craving a little more guidance and direction before I interject…
