Clothing
Tharaj, as she hails from a warmer area, tends to wear things that are a but less warm. Her clothing consist of a pair of loose shorts made of jute burlap, a vest made of tanned goat leather that barely reaches her floating ribs and, a belt of tied flax, and various beads and feathers to decorate her body in jewelry like piercings on her ears, stomach and or on various rings and necklaces. Her feet are wrapped in cloth save for the talons at the end. On her back is a small backpack made with a basket and two ropes as straps.
Personality
Tharaj is best described as a cheerful person. She loves her work and socializing, as hard as it may be for her do to the lack of language skills. Tharaj is a curious, foolhardy and almost child-like person do to her lack of knowledge of the outside world. She loves to learn things and see new places, people, philosophy, and items. She is easily entertained and distracted and mischievous, which often times leads to trouble. Her love of a challenge puts her in new events and constantly pushing herself. Tharaj is also a helpless romantic, quick to fall in love without really understanding it, but devoting large wafts of money, feelings and time to people until their inevitable breaking of her heart. A rowdy, playful girl with the curiosity of a child, Tharaj is an adventurer at heart, but not the one her people needs.
Biography
Tharaj was born into Darkwater, her egg (Yes, they are from eggs) being the only on in three that her parents made and hatched. As a child, she was far beyond her brethren in many ways. The strongest, wittiest and the only one with magic it seemed like she was destined for greatness. She put herself to work immediately, collecting firewood to sell to the townspeople so that she could gain some money for herself that she could start to buy some of the many books made by scholars down the river. From here she caught her first glimpses at navigation and stories of far away lands. She was engrossed in the thought of seeing the rest of the world from then on out and began to work her way towards it. At only 12 she taught herself astrology from her books and with the help of her father's connections, started to work on a fishing boat that she loved. She sailed the boat out, quickly learning and adapting to the use of a boat like she was born to be on it. Once sixteen she was selected by a burgomaster to work on his turtle ship on an expedition to Jagged mercantile Consortium. The job was rough and being a woman alone with sailors was rougher but it paid off when she was given her pay and a day in a foreign land. Here she confirmed her love for the rest of the world, buying her first foreign food and a necklace that she keeps with her to this day. Returning half a year later she vowed to get her own ship for trade on her own. Her route was to take up work in the southern area as a slaver and shepherd. Here, she made fantastic money due to the cash received by the goat farmers and their need for protection and slaves. she remained in the line of work for 4 years before she had the money she needed and more for trade and emergencies. Now, a 20-year-old woman with more than enough preparation, she moved out to sea to begin her adventures. Since then she has worked as a trader to the few places that actually enjoy trading with Tamilians do to their oddness but has decided that she will now start to trade everywhere, and see the world along with it.
