Bio

"That's why we must eat the old people first. They can't have that kind of power."

I've been roleplaying for six years, and if I do say so myself I've gotten pretty good. I've been to many roleplay sites around the internet, and for right now I'm happy calling this one home. I write fantasy, high science fiction, and poetry. I'm involved in the Nerdfighteria community as well, making the world suck a little bit less one day at a time. Though sometimes it's rough and incredibly time-consuming, roleplaying has brought me some of my closest friends, some of the most genuinely awesome people I've ever met. This train is still going, and there's no stop in sight! DFTBA.

The Disappointment Club:

"What the fuck did I just read"

We're special-ed special forces, the most exclusive internet club that no one wants to join, and the most thoroughly disappointing group of individuals the world has ever seen (we even disappoint when it comes to disappointing). Together, we're quite possibly the best six friends the internet has know.

- @He Who Walks Behind : I still won't forgive him for what he did to that starfish.
- @Dragonbud : Her Gregory Cosplay is fire.
- @Surtr : I think he's still trying to pimp me... Help.

I JUST WANTED TO HAVE A CIVIL CONVERSATION ON THE INTERNET! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS????
<Snipped quote by Mr Allen J>

Oh now your bitch ass decides to come when your people tried to come for me earlier.

That's okay though. I'm a strong bitch. I can handle my own.

I wasn't coming after you, Heathen. I was giving you constructive criticism because I thought that your power wasn't going to be accepted. I have nothing against you, but I think that your character needs more weaknesses, because right now they can phase through enemies and make themselves impenetrable without any real drawbacks besides a time limit and a force limit, neither of which really constitute weaknesses. Your other weaknesses aren't weaknesses of your power, as I said before, but weaknesses of being a human. All metas are harmed by attacks against their neurological systems unless their power negates this specifically. Saying that is like saying that your character isn't fireproof. That's not a weakness. That's a fact. As I mentioned, I have no authority here, but I'm a close friend of Allen's and I know what he tends to look for in a character. I didn't know about Thinker rock, and if he deems your power okay, then that's fine by me since it's his rp. That, however, doesn't mean that I'm not entitled to my own opinion.

None of that is meant to be rude or condescending at all and I apologize if you take it as such.

EDIT: Density is how spread out something is. That is the definition of density. Something airy or light is something that is more spread out over an area, higher surface area to its volume. Things with high density are things that are less spread out over an area, lower surface area to its volume. If your character's appearance doesn't change at all when they change their own density, then they're not actually increasing their molecular density. However, considering that characters in this rp don't necessarily have to follow the laws of physics, you can really do whatever you want. It was just a suggestion.
I have a character in mind but what's the furthest from the academy they'd be coming from? Do they need to be an Alaska resident?

To answer your question, no. People from all over America can be sent to 218. I don't actually know of any characters who are from Alaska who go to 218.

@Heathen So I don't have any real authority in this rp, but as someone who has been in many of these rps and who is a close friend of Allen's, I think your character needs more weaknesses. Considering that they can both become completely intangible and become bulletproof, there needs to be a little bit more there to balance them out. Your weaknesses currently are the usual "they're hurt by other things", which isn't a weakness of your power so much as it is a weakness of being human. There's a time limit on your character's abilities, but in a fight thirty seconds can be a lot. I think that a some good weaknesses could be that your character cannot phase through very dense objects (such as steel). The being able to stun people by touching their vital organs is excessive. Also, making oneself less dense would make them easier to be knocked over, so perhaps your character becomes kind of floaty, so something like a powerful gust of wind would send them flying. For increased density, not being able to feel pain makes no sense with your power (perhaps the increased density makes their pain-sensing neurons less efficient, either prolonging pain or reducing it, but removing it is a lot to ask). There should be some restriction of mobility in your character's superdense form as well, as the same pain reducing factor would make their reaction time slower. Also, being more dense wouldn't increase your weight, but it would decrease your surface area while your weight stays the same. This wouldn't make them heavier, but compacting them would cause them to break things that they fall into easier, since the same amount of force would be spread across a smaller surface area.

Just my two cents. You don't need to use all of these, but at current your character doesn't have any well-defined weaknesses.

I mean, if it's indeed based on FMA, then it's fairly balanced. Of course, if your character is like Edward and can more-or-less freely control anything with no specialty, then that might be a problem.
Mine interest hath been stolen. Give it back, you jerks.

Anyway, I was thinking about prospective powers. Are there any out there that are downright banned? For mine own, I was thinking of giving them the ability to transmute and manipulate non-living matter. Turning coal into gold, for example. To off-set that strength, they would require physical contact with whatever they're changing. Also, they can't create new matter from nothing, or if they could it would drain the person heavily.

Would that work out?

Okay, Edward Elric.
We're so popular here at the 218.
So I know I'll be entering Victor in this, and I might do my old character Casey as well. Casey has modified collagen in her ligaments, skin, and tendons which give her supernatural flexibility, durability, and agility. Victor is a fire meta who is slowly turning into a giant walking bonfire.
