*Nods and shifts to a head-shaking motion in a short span*
Not such a unique characteristic, in my relatively very small experience.

Perhaps not. I have not observed that your kind tends to seek out Tier Five's members, in any case.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

I suppose I never would have expected that to be the case. But I know that you know Data isn't even remotely the only one I could be talking about. Just the most prolific example... Admittedly, from a smaller pool now than it was not long ago.

Those who attempt to ingrain themselves into the affairs of Tier Five tend to not last long.
*Pushes against space, which cracks in a rectangle pattern of light, opening like a door*
Not by our choice, either.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Maybe a little. I've spent so long working on things and being at most a single degree of separation from a lot of your group's work, minor curiosities like that tend to develop. Can't help it.

Tier Five has no single points of failure but no redundancy. Data interacts with you by choice, but by no means represents the Tier as a whole.

I always wondered how exclusively you guys relied on him, in the handyman department.
*Glances down toward the floor as we walk, and the tone of my voice drops slightly, almost unnoticeably so*
Interesting to know there's some... Overlap in skills.

Fishing for information?
*The torches flicker and the ground falls away behind us as we walk, tile by tile*
<Snipped quote by Memory>

*Waves my hand dismissively*
Not important regardless of even that. I get the message. It's impressive. Data's work?

*Raises an eyebrow and holds my hands behind my back*
My own.
*The passage gives way to a pale yellow darkness lit by hovering bundles of torch flame radiating along a single corridor, the rest of the maze now out of sight*
<Snipped quote by Memory>

*Nods, and then after a moment's pause, raises an eyebrow in realization*
Wa- Well... Actually, nevermind.

There are better forums for arguing the aptness of an allegory.
*The environment and gravity twists sideways, walking us through several turns of a spiral*
<Snipped quote by Memory>

I definitely get it. As long as there’s a steep gap in the complexity to entering proximity of the doomsday artifact.

Of course. A mousetrap is of little use if the bait is eaten.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

What's the end goal with constructions so elaborate? Confusing would-be invaders?

In effect. You'll notice it was very easy to enter this place—entering is not our concern, if you understand.
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Sure thing.
*Adjusts my jacket collar as I walk behind you*

*As we walk, the addorning walkways flip upside down, leaving us with a sensation of walking upside down ourselves without falling*
<Snipped quote by Memory>

Maybe not easily.
*Nods to you as you walk away with your back turned*

*Waves my hand*
Come, come. I'll show you the way out.
