What I do in Chrome is, instead of full-on refreshing, I select the input box and press enter. That doesn't refresh it, but it fixes the problem for several minutes. Then I can refresh normally.

Sure. If it's RPG that's being slow, there's something weird happening. I fix it... in a way that only works on Google Chrome.
