I can't believe I've stuck myself with three girls for all of next year who think screaming, shrieking and making sex noises consists of banter. -_-

Bio

Howdy all! I figured it was about time I spruced up my bio section. Or, y'know. Wrote something in it other than WIP.

So! Things to know about my mostly-good self:

I'm a 20 year old female, hailing from a not-so-small town in the north east of England. I'm currently about a third through my second year at Uni, and have made some awesome friends there so far. I also debate. That's always fun - arguing has always been an annoying trait (for others, that is) of mine, so putting it into something one can have on their CV is great. The competitions are super fun too. Anyway, roleplaying.

If you've known me for a short or long while, you'll likely know what an absolute slut for fantasy I am. High fantasy to low, I love those kind of roleplays and will nearly always be interested in new ones that crop up. The same applies for Sci-Fi, but at the moment, I'm not feeling inspiration for a good ol' spacefaring RP. Gotta get the Mass Effect out again, get me craving some Turian booty again. However, I won't go for only these ones. SoL can interest me if they're run properly, alongside horror, mystery, romance, etc. I won't ignore something simply because it doesn't have magic or flying bears in it or something. As for level, I like to consider my writing high-casual to low-advanced. Hopefully others will agree with me on that one, haha. Anyway, here's a list of specific fandoms I enjoy, kind of in order of preference:

  • Lord of the Rings Universe (Including The Hobbit)
  • Dragon Age series
  • Elder Scrolls
  • Mass Effect Trilogy
  • Star Trek (I'd love a Discovery one right now!)
  • Star Wars (Specifically the time around the Prequels; while I shan't get into the whole Prequel/Original war on which is better, roleplaying makes for more excitement in the prequel era. Clone Wars guys, c'mon!)
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Fringe
  • Greek Mythology (PJO, but with the amount of Camp Half-Blood roleplays that have come and gone, I'd prefer one based more on the Original Mythologies)
  • Norse Mythology
  • Marvel
  • Left 4 Dead
  • The Walking Dead (Or any Post-Apocalypse Roleplay, really.)
  • 'A Song of Ice and Fire' Series
  • House of Night Series
  • True Blood
  • Deus Ex
  • Blood Ties
  • The Vampire Diaries (I admittedly abandoned the show and books when the plot got too boring, but I still like the Universe. I'd join a roleplay based in it, if it had original characters, that is.)
  • Pacific Rim

Aaannndd I'll stop the list here before I go on forever. Basically there's a lot, particularly in the realm of fantasy. Hit me up if you want me in your roleplay, of if you'd like to do a 1x1 based around any of those areas, or even some additional ones if you think I'd be interested. I love original plots and Universes too, especially if they're done well.

First off - if you could use the CS outline and formatting that has been provided, that would be great; Skills shouldn't be on there, and you're missing the Appearance slot.

Secondly - after conferring with my GMs, who agree with me - there are issues with your Powers and Fatal Flaw. To start, your second power "Social Singularity" will not be accepted, under the grounds that it's too Godmod-y. There's a difference in making oneself seem appealing to other people, and actually making the other people like your character; the latter is godmodding. As a whole, not every character will find the same sort of personality endearing.

As for the rest of your powers, the last one is okay, but all in all, they're only very vaguely connected to Apollo.

The powers must be connected to the abilities of Apollo; Apollo was not known for understanding culture, or being extremely desirable. While he does have a lot of realms for his divinity, he was most well known for music, healing, Oracles and the Sun. While he's certainly not limited to those four, we do need to see clearly that he is Apollo's son via his powers.

As for your fatal flaw, it isn't particularly life-threatening. It's in the name - all the old heroes had one that brought about their inevitable doom; Hubris, Love; a heel. Wanderlust is not so fatal to oneself.
@McHaggis

Put dat shit into the Character tab, gurl.

CS is up now, my friend - but he looks like an awesome start!
Here's the OOC, in case I've forgotten anyone.

Damon Lawrence

Location: Unknown - but aesthetically pleasing - hotel room
Interacting with: Himself

As he was very often accustomed to at this stage in his life, Damon awoke in a strange bed, in a strange room, with a rather strange headache.

Well, headaches were usual, but not this one; it certainly hadn't come about from drinking or drugs; he knew those effects well enough to know the difference. Nor had it come from a concussion. It was a strange, fuzzy sort of thing that filled his ears, only passing once he had sat up from the bed with a groan, and rubbed the bleariness from his eyes. And once the fog passed, he realised just how odd his surroundings were... along with his apparent memory loss.

"Hell... I wasn't even partying. How did I go from getting an Indian to... here?"
It was quite the predicament – not only that, but he had never received his tikka masala, and his stomach was paying the price for it. Ignoring the rumblings from his bowels for the moment, Damon got up from the bed, looking at the room properly. It was tastefully decorated; dark tones, decent wallpaper... there were hints from the 40's, 50's and 60's around the room, and yet, they all matched together perfectly well, despite the wild differences between the decades.

Noticing a slip of paper on the bedside table, Damon grasped it with a raised, quizzical eyebrow; if this was a kidnapping, they were going out of their way to make him comfortable. Decorations that matched his interests, comfortable bed... all he was missing was his curry.

The Grand Hotel and Casino of Saint Epipodius

Dear whatever individual(s),
Welcome to our not-so-humble establishment! Within your rooms you will find everything to make you feel at home, but don't get too comfortable! A meeting in regards to your current kidnappee status will begin at 8PM sharp, in the main foyer. Snacks will be available there, or at your room while you wait.

The note was short, to the point, and tastefully decorated with delicate swirls and a fancy, handwritten font in gold. Damon was now perfectly certain he had been kidnapped, but the vague manner in which the note had addressed him gave him the impression he was not alone. Perhaps more people in other rooms? Ignoring yet another grumble in the depth of his stomach, Damon stifled a smile as he made his way to the door... any other person would be frightened, but what could he say? Was there anything more exciting than being taken by mysterious individuals – especially ones who were so blatant in the crime they had committed?

Except, he was stopped in his storming of the door when a familiar aroma hit his nose – sweet, spicy, and unmistakable from his favourite takeaway down the street. Turning on his heel, Damon's eyebrows raised once again; this time in surprise, and perhaps even disbelief. There, upon the table near the window, was a takeaway carton of curry. The exact same one he had been craving all day, the one he had just been thinking about...
And yet, it had not been there just ten seconds ago.

"I wonder..." He murmured, rocking slightly on his heels. Shrugging his shoulders – and deciding his day would likely be getting more odd as it progressed whether he liked it or not, Damon pointed at the table.

"I'm gasping for a smoke?" His tone was questioning, almost hopeful – because he was, in fact, missing his cigarettes. By the looks of the clock in the room – 7:55 – he'd lost a good five hours of his day. Either that, or he was in a different timezone. Either way one looked at it, that was far too long in his eyes to be without his daily intake of tobacco and nicotine.

And then all of a sudden, there they were. Not appearing with a poof or a pop, just suddenly... existing. A packet of Marlboros, his current favourite, and a matchbox next to it.

"Well then... not your usual kidnapping." Although not complaining, his curiosity spiked further; grabbing the newest magically appearing items (He gave the curry a forlorn sort of look before leaving it; didn't want to keep his mysterious kidnappers waiting, after all), he lit a cigarette before exiting his room.

Before him was your typical long hotel corridor; not decorated in the same style as he had admired, but in a neutral, somewhat bland modern style. There were more doors, a lack of natural light, and that usual quiet, eerie feeling one got in cramped spaces lit by fluorescents. At the far end was a wall, and the other, a lift. No alcoves, no stairs, no adjacent corridors. All there were was doors... and Damon had the distinct feeling he would find some comrades behind them.

There has always been worship.

In the earliest days of man, we revered the sun and it's awesome power of bringing both life and death; over time, the Sun would find itself personified with specific Deities - Gods, along with other things, both tangible and not. Life and Death; Sun and Moon; Water, Fire, Earth, Wind; War and Peace, Love and Conquest. Across the globe, across time and cultures, each society had their own names for these Deities - but some became more prominent in history than others.

As far as people in the 21st Century are concerned, this is because these civilisations were great. Egyptians, Greeks, the Vikings - they conquered, with great minds and greater power. We learned much from their teachings, from mathematics and sciences to the arts. But the people of ancient times and their religions had a far greater impact on our world than most will ever know. Their Gods were not just folktales written to explain the unknown.

They were real. Just as they are today - and they are not done with the Earth and her people just yet.

Greetings, ladies, gentlemen, and unidentifiable alien blob species! As you have no doubt gathered from the title and introduction, this roleplay will be centered around Gods, and their lovely bastard Demi-God children. Or perhaps not lovely - it all depends on you, after all. You are the writer.

In an attempt to stand apart from Percy Jackson, this will not be a high school-eqsue roleplay, with teenagers and young adults living and together. The original myths are rarely kind to it's heroes, so expect this tale to be equally as unkind. I can't promise a happy ending... it's all down to our champions.

Our story will begin with a surprise – or perhaps, better defined as a shock. Your Demi-God may have been going about their daily business; going to work or school, having lunch with friends, driving a car, when all of a sudden, they will find themselves... not doing those things. Their car will remain in the driveway of their home, their friends will not notice their disappearance, and their absence from work will go unnoticed. Our Champions will awake in a strange bed, in a strange hotel room, and it is only in taking that one brave step outside of the their door, that their quest will begin.

The following points are rather important if you would like to take place in the roleplay, so kindly read them all.

  • This is a high-casual Roleplay. I will not accept someone who cannot write something with basic correct grammar and spelling. Posting requirements won't be extremely stringent - more than one paragraph, once a week. If you're unable to post for more than a week, it's not issue – just let me know beforehand; a mention in the OOC will do.
  • It is unnecessary as of now to reserve a certain God or Goddess for your Demi-God. In most myths, they were super sluts, so it's a very good chance that they have off-spring everywhere. Caps will only be applied to Gods – or overall Pantheons – if there are too many, and the other ones need to be filled up more.
  • Children of Titans, Giants, Spirits, Demons, or mythological beasts will not be accepted. Gods and Goddesses only please – also keeping in mind the three pantheons, and virginal Goddesses. If you're unsure, check the myths – if the God doesn't have any Demi-God children in the myths, they won't have any now.
  • Because Gods are all-mighty and powerful, they can change form, size, and appearance. This includes their physical sex, so if y'all want Ra to be your character's Mother, or Sif to be your character's father, that is entirely possible.
  • There's no real limit on the ages, but keep it reasonable people. Gods aren't going to pick five year olds or 80-year-olds to go on a quest now, are they.
  • This should go without saying, but keep drama to a minimum. If you have a disagreement about anything; be it the acceptance of somebody's character, or a post in the IC, let me know via PM. As for your own posts, refrain from God-Modding, Over-Powered Characters, Mary/Gary-Sues, and of course, no discriminatory behaviour of any kind.
  • As for powers, your character may be aware they have them, or they may not. It is entirely up to you, as the roleplayer. However, the presence or even existence of Gods will not be known to them, just as it isn't known to anyone on this earth. They may have an inkling of Godly parentage – if they somehow came to that conclusion – but they would have no proof.
  • When submitting your character, post them in the OOC tab - they have to wait for approval before going into the Characters tab. There is no limit on how many characters you make, just be sure you can handle them all.

If anybody has queries, you may ask myself, or my 3 Co-GMs; @McHaggis, @Undine, and @HalfofLancelot.

Claimed Faceclaims:
As the Gods will be making appearances, the following faces have been claimed for them - take a look to see one you're using for your own character isn't on here.

Please keep in mind that the appearance of the God will have no basis on the ethnicity or appearance of your character - genetics aren't particularly passed down when it comes to Gods and magic.
Additionally, not every God listed will be available as a parent - but as they are making an appearance, they have a faceclaim.
If your Godly parent is not on the list, feel free to choose your own F/C.
