I can't believe I've stuck myself with three girls for all of next year who think screaming, shrieking and making sex noises consists of banter. -_-

Bio

Howdy all! I figured it was about time I spruced up my bio section. Or, y'know. Wrote something in it other than WIP.

So! Things to know about my mostly-good self:

I'm a 20 year old female, hailing from a not-so-small town in the north east of England. I'm currently about a third through my second year at Uni, and have made some awesome friends there so far. I also debate. That's always fun - arguing has always been an annoying trait (for others, that is) of mine, so putting it into something one can have on their CV is great. The competitions are super fun too. Anyway, roleplaying.

If you've known me for a short or long while, you'll likely know what an absolute slut for fantasy I am. High fantasy to low, I love those kind of roleplays and will nearly always be interested in new ones that crop up. The same applies for Sci-Fi, but at the moment, I'm not feeling inspiration for a good ol' spacefaring RP. Gotta get the Mass Effect out again, get me craving some Turian booty again. However, I won't go for only these ones. SoL can interest me if they're run properly, alongside horror, mystery, romance, etc. I won't ignore something simply because it doesn't have magic or flying bears in it or something. As for level, I like to consider my writing high-casual to low-advanced. Hopefully others will agree with me on that one, haha. Anyway, here's a list of specific fandoms I enjoy, kind of in order of preference:

  • Lord of the Rings Universe (Including The Hobbit)
  • Dragon Age series
  • Elder Scrolls
  • Mass Effect Trilogy
  • Star Trek (I'd love a Discovery one right now!)
  • Star Wars (Specifically the time around the Prequels; while I shan't get into the whole Prequel/Original war on which is better, roleplaying makes for more excitement in the prequel era. Clone Wars guys, c'mon!)
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Fringe
  • Greek Mythology (PJO, but with the amount of Camp Half-Blood roleplays that have come and gone, I'd prefer one based more on the Original Mythologies)
  • Norse Mythology
  • Marvel
  • Left 4 Dead
  • The Walking Dead (Or any Post-Apocalypse Roleplay, really.)
  • 'A Song of Ice and Fire' Series
  • House of Night Series
  • True Blood
  • Deus Ex
  • Blood Ties
  • The Vampire Diaries (I admittedly abandoned the show and books when the plot got too boring, but I still like the Universe. I'd join a roleplay based in it, if it had original characters, that is.)
  • Pacific Rim

Aaannndd I'll stop the list here before I go on forever. Basically there's a lot, particularly in the realm of fantasy. Hit me up if you want me in your roleplay, of if you'd like to do a 1x1 based around any of those areas, or even some additional ones if you think I'd be interested. I love original plots and Universes too, especially if they're done well.

Current Active Roleplays:

The Elder Scrolls: Fruits of Contention

Will post today once I'm finished with uni.
In case you saw the message on the OOC that we are full up, we are now taking more applications due to drop-outs; give it a look if you're interested.
@BurningCold

Myself and Leos are still discussing some things to do with the style, but we've agreed that combat will be independently written to an extent - dice rolls will come into it, but we'll let you know as soon as we've fully decided.

I can say for definite that you don't have to worry about your character's dying. Dice rolls will probably be to do with injuries, loot, and number/difficulty of the enemy the group or individual is facing. We'll just be doing this to avoid too much GM control in the battles (and make it less biased for our own characters, of course), and to make sure nothing unlikely happens. E.G. Somebody finds an old chest with an easy lock in a cave somewhere, and inside is a full set of ebony armour.

Once we've got the details hashed out, there'll be a section put in the OOC for everyone to look at.

@Nariata
Many apologies. I couldn't remember if you came from the OOC or the Interest Check, so I forgot to tag you about this being up. So, here be the tagging, go forth and character create.

@lordofthepies
Haven't heard from you yet - I'd like to know if you're still interested. If this message goes unanswered after 24 hours, you lose your spot.
EDIT: As you've not been online for a couple of days, I'll extend this until you actually log on and see the message.

@ethanjory
We have an opening, if you're still interested.
@dereken

No worries - thanks for your interest anyway. :)

@Frizan

omg its Piper im so exciteddddd
@Dereken

Being a high-casual roleplay, I'll need a lot more detail in your CS. As stated in the rules, I'd like at least 2 in depth paragraphs for appearance and personality; what you've given me so far isn't enough - also, the scar upon his head is listed as long-faded at one point, then prominent the next. Which is it?

As for backstory, it is too vague. Although not quite at the peak of hatred found during Skyrim times, Nord's and Altmer's didn't generally get along very well. The Altmers saw all of the men races inferior; especially Nords, who were seen as nothing more than stupid barbarians - what circumstances occurred for Tandoril's parents to meet, and then stay together long enough to have a child? A child that would very likely be looked down upon in both species.
There's also no mention of his birthplace; was he born in Skyrim, Summerset Isles, or Cryodiil? Additionally, in your skills section you mentioned smithing and leather-work as skills, but there's nothing mentioned in his backstory about it. Block is also there, but he doesn't use nor own a shield, so why is it a skill?

It would also be worth noting that sellswords aren't particularly skilled in fighting, unless they received training from elsewhere - usually ex-military or guards, etc. If Tandoril is skilled in all manners of fighting as the skills section dictates, I'm going to need more evidence of training than simply being taught by his father.

Why did Tandoril leave his parents? 34 is still young by Altmer standards, and his mother would know that enough to not want him to leave. Even without Daedra, Tamriel is a dangerous place for the naive.

Extra: Places of worship in the Elder Scrolls are Chapels, not Churches.

@LeonVon

Great start, but there are a few things in his backstory that need tweaking.
First off, the Imperial Thieves Guild. The Imperial faction of the Thieves Guild were considered as nothing more than myths, and weren't particularly successful or lucrative during this time - they just stayed quiet and hidden. Therefore, it would be very unlikely for them to reach out to new members so openly - especially all the way to Vvardenfell. As for the Morrowind faction, they were extremely premature and small compared to the Camonna Tong - I'm also wondering why they'd try so hard to recruit someone of just a journeyman level of sneak, up to the point that this person leaves their home.

Everything else is okay, barring the encounter with the Nerevarine - such a tiny thing as a stranger asking for directions on the road would not stick in someone's mind. They wouldn't suddenly months later realise "Oh, that guy I met for five minutes seven months ago was the Nerevarine." Unless they had eidetic memory or something. So yes, kindly remove that bit.

To the both of you: Everybody seems to be forgetting money in their inventory. They have to have some septims on them somewhere, guys.

he's on to us
Please remember that this roleplay requires applications - only post your characters in the characters tab once they've been accepted by myself and the Co-Gm.

@dereken

I made the rules section for a reason; kindly read the OP entirely to avoid mistakes like this in the future. In the meantime, remove your character from the characters tab and place them in here - I'll review it tomorrow, as it's nearly 2AM currently and I'm too tired to read something properly.
@SkinnehMinneh

Traits as in racial powers? Then yes - just keep in mind that if the character is of mixed blood, the mother's power will be prevalent, and not the fathers.
