Kaito had expected the baron to spill it all out but much to the fox’s surprise he kept his composure. Was that turd at the end of the table able to resist his magic by his own will power? Or was someone else mind controlling him? There could be some powerful magic at play. The latter explanation certainly would bruise Kaito’s ego a bit less.

However what happened next was certainly unexpected. Suddenly the baron and many others at the table started to drop like flies, face forward in their plate of food into a deep slumber. The fox could not happen but to let out a big yawn. But as he was about to close his eyes he shrugged the effect off. Maybe it was because he did not give the whispers his full blown attention or maybe he was just naturally more resistant to such types of magic being an ancient mythological creature and all.

Before Kaito had any chance to assess the situation a mixture of porridge, bear saliva and other foods came flying into his direction. Cedar had woken up from his slumber and was violently cleaning his fur from the food he had fallen into. As the fox whipped the porridge from his face he spoke sarcastically ”Thank you for sharing your food Cedar. Just next time don’t throw it in my face.

”The party is starting eh? Well, let's give whomever is coming a welcome they sure aren’t going to forget.” Spoke the kitsune as he threw his bowl of porridge to Chounan’s head in an attempt to wake him up.

”Everyone on your feet and against the walls. We’re going to give them what they are expecting. A table full of sleeping people.” Whispered Kaito as he created an illusionary copy of himself that was fast asleep in the chain he used to sit on. The same he did for Jazdia. Now a perfect illusionary copy of her was sleeping in the chair. At the same time he created another illusion that made a copy of wall to the left and placed it just enough in front of that wall that he and others could hide behind it.

”Jaz, can you see how many people are coming?”
@EmiliaBaiYue Any idea when you get your firt post up?
I do apologize folks. I was a third through my post when I just decided "feck it I'm going full Scots" and broke out Scotranslate.

Actually no I don't apologize this is going to be great. If the Scots gets to hard let me know. I'll try and make it easier.

Keep up the scottisch. We'll just (mis)interprit all the time and get really awkward conversations :D
@Milkman

Karma is accepted. You can move her to the character tab :)
Alright, first IC post is up. When your character is approved you can start posting.

@Expendable @EternalDragon Once your character sheets are done, we'll just write you in :)

Starsystem: Akhustal system
Planet/moon: Planet Taxore
Place: The Dauntless

There are moments when you reflect upon the big decisions you have made in life. Especially when you are indebted to the largest crime syndicate of the known universe and payday’s coming up. The truth of the matter, every 3 months this same problem had arisen for the time since Evren had bought the Dauntless. Borrowing money to buy a ship was easy enough. The hard part was gathering a crew and making a profit.

The crew part he managed to more or less figure out. However the profit part had become a bit of a challenge. Jobs didn’t come easy and those he could find were barely paying more than the operation expenses. Getting the coin to pay back the triads had proven to be more difficult than anticipated. Time until the next payday was running out and his wallet was as dusty as the deserts of Taxore. The captain needed a job that would score big. A job that would get the triads of his tail for the time being and he was quite desperate to get one. In fact, Evren was desperate enough to commandeer the Dauntless towards the planet Taxore.

Through the windows of the bridge the yellow deserts of the planet Taxore where clearly visible in between the blue oceans as The Dauntless quietly made its rounds around the planet. From geostationary orbit, the planet looked peaceful. However the truth is that Taxore is infamous for its lawlessness.

Planet Taxore is a curious case of of what happens when Megacorporations fuck up and leave a planet due to its lack of profitability. What big corporations find unprofitable becomes often highly desirable for all kinds of people that search out lives far away from the crippling confinement of institutions. Even if that live is in the harsh desert climates of Taxore it did not discourage a mixture of scoundrels, vagabonds, lowlifes and other opportunists to seek out a life on the desolate sands Taxore and especially its biggest spaceport city of Kharak Town. A place where profit loomed for Evren and his crew.

Before making its descent to the surface, captain Evren had summoned his crew to the bridge for a short briefing. For a moment he looked at his crew and wondered if they were ready for the job he was willing to take on. Flying a ship is one thing, doing a dangerous job was another. Considering who put the job up for offer, there was no doubt in the fox’s mind that it would be dangerous.

”Got a lead for a job people. Ever heard of Fat Pig? He’s a merchant. Or at least that is what he calls himself. Fat Pig basically deals in all kinds of less than legal cargo and is currently looking for a ship to pick up some merchandise from god knows where and deliver it to him. He’s a dangerous fellow but he pays well. We’ll be meeting him down there in Kharak Town. Any questions so far?”

Fat Pig was the street name of Vladimir Petrov. A notorious dealer in illicit merchandise that ran his operations from Kharak town. He was infamous for his gluttony, huge size and brutal violence that he unleashed on anyone that double crossed him. Some even whisper that Petrov eats his enemies raw. Needless to say that Fat Pig has a reputation that is well known in the Frontier. However, what is also well known is that those who do their jobs well get solid rewards. That makes the man a bit of a double edged sword. You can earn good coin with the man but when things go sour, he unleashes hell. Evren wondered if any of his crew would have reservations regarding doing jobs for Vladimir Petrov.
As Kaito was talking with the baron a strange whisper reached his ears. For a moment he thought he was imagining it as his focus was clearly on the baron but when Cedar brought this topic up the fox was convinced he had heard it too. For a moment he tried to focus on these whispers and turned his invisible fox ears to the direction he heard it from but every time he convinced himself he had found the right direction the sounds just faded away.

Much time to think about these strange whispers wasn’t given as the Elf jumped straight to the point and the bear looked like he was desperately trying to not jump into a feeding frenzy. Hopefully Cedar could keep himself under control for a little longer. The baron had some questions to answer. ”O boy, miss Jazdia is jumping straight to business again.” Said Kaito as he smiled at the baron. ”It would be really helpful if you’d answer the misses her questions.” Spoke the fox as he infused his words with his charm magic.

Does the ship have a dedicated medbay? Just curious.

Totally agree with the supposition of employment length. Want to say Dar is a recent addition but quickly made a niche.

Yes, I always envisioned that the ship has one. Somehow i forgot to add it to the description. Will do it later today. Or you can write a nice description and i will add that :)

As far as emplpoyment goes. In my head the idea was that everyone was relatively new. As in that Evren acquired the ship something around a year ago and that the crew has been sailing together maybe something like up to 6 months. Some might be around for those 6 months others maybe shorter.

I think everybody is at friendly terms with eachoter. Were after all confined to a ship so were basicly living together in a limited amount of space for prolonged periods. That doesn't mean we cant butt heads occasionally :)

Noticing how the baron followed by Jazdia started to eat without dying, Kaito figured that the food should be at least safe enough to not die instantly and grabbed a piece of bread as well. It was surprisingly tasty and the fox quickly grabbed another bite. When finished chewing it all down, he turned his attention towards the baron again.

”We knights tend to talk a lot in between all the training and missions we do. So news and stories kind of travel fast that way.” The kitsune paused a bit as the elf took the word. Fitting that she started about the food and the furniture. Baron Von Kruber’s hall was indeed rather retro.

”I’ve heard many good tales about Sir Caspar. I’m sure he will be a great tutor for your son. It must be lonely with the baroness and your boys visiting an acquaintance. Do you get many visitors at your castle?”
I think in about 2 days. Only waiting for the character sheets of Expendable and EthernalDragon. The latter said they he could only start working on a cs after getting home on the 29th. If the rest is ready to go before that i start the RP. It should not be too difficult to write an extra character into the scene.
