I've read through your character sheet and have a few points regarding Njal's pet. Alien life forms have not been discovered. Planets with breathable atmospheres have all been terraformed in order to make them habitable. Not a single trace of life has been found. The current colonized solar systems are all within travel distance. Other stars would require generational spacecraft that would have to travel for multiple generations. So a spaceshit piloting alien pet not something that will get a pass. Same goes for studying alien language as there is no alien life form known. However I like the general idea of Krite so I am going to give some idea's on how to rework the idea to make it fit in the world a bit better :)

There are 3 aspects that need modification. His origine, communication and the 'working a spacecraft'. Although I'm not entirely sure if I interprid that the right way. Right now I see it as being able to fly a spacecraft but I could have it all wrong. If so, please correct me on it :)

I like the uniqueness of Krite and I think that is something you should certainly keep. It's a bit of a one of a king creature and I think it would be great to leave his origine a mystery. He could be the product of genetic experimentation, or maybe he's a mutated animal from a freak accident with a chemical plant or something entirely else. By leaving this open everyone who gets into contact with Krite can form their own theories and there will certainly be people who think it is an alien. Nobody really knows :)

Since there aren't talking aliens I think communication should go mostly through stuff like body language and intonation. Njal is the one who can interpret his body language and communicate commands to him. Lets say that Krite sees someone in a room. He isn't able to articulary describe what the person looks like but when Njal asks him to point him out from a crowd he can do that perfectly. Or point the person out based on a bunch of pictures.

The last part is more about what he can do. In essence he's still an animal and should not be functioning on the same interlectual capacity as people. However there should be plenty of tasks he should be able to accomplish. Like navigating his way around airducts and press a button based upon describtion by Njal, collecting specific items on command, opening doors, maybe unscrewing stuff with his nails but pilotting complex machines is a bit too much.

I hope I have given you some good pointers to work with. If you have any questions feel free to ask :)
That would be the interstellar type. A long sleep. Proberbly a drug induced sleep that slows down metabolism and oxygen consumption.
Okay, since Karma's the ship's mechanic, what issues is she currently aware of?

What jury-rigged repairs exist?

Is the "Check Engine" light on?

List of most imporatant systems.
* Engines: Provide propulsion and energy for the entire ship.
* Auxiliary power unit: When the engine fails the auxiliary power unit kicks in to power the most critical systems for crew survival such as the oxygen generators, communications and thermal subsystems. This unit consists of batteries that can power the ships systems in case of emergiency for a week.
* oxygen generator: Generates and pumps around oxygen.
* backup oxygen generator: Backup oxygen system for when the primary fails
* Artificial gravity generator: Maintains a constant 1G within the ship
* Water management system: Delivers water to the kitchen, bathrooms, medical bay and other places in the ship. it consists of a fresh water supply and a unit that purifies waste water.
* Waste disposal unit: Burns up waste and compresses the ashes to make it take less space on the ship.
* Thermal subsystems: The thermal subsystems maintain the right temperature around th ship for both the crew and the various systems.
* Fire-Fighting system: Automated firefighting system that kicks in when a fire is detected
* Communications and sensors: All radios, radars and other sensors that are required to savely travel and communicate in space.
* Refrigeration system for storing food: Keeps the fresh food from going bad.

The known issues
* The backup oxygen generator is currently not functioning. For some reason it won't turn on.
* Half of the Auxilairy power unit batteries are dead and in need of replacement.
* The Fire-fighting system is not working in crew quarters and cargo bay. For some reason the sensors aren't transmissioning to the main control computer.
* The enige needs various important parts replaced due to wear and tear. Rigth now accelerating faster than 1G increases the risk of engine failure.

And you are ofcourse free to come up with some stuff yourself :)
Kaito watched as the hulking man entered the room. Somehow he seemed to be unaffected by the blast from the magical arrow. There were some lacerations on his body but somehow no blood was flowing from it. Something the fox found both intriguing and mildly concerning. If he doesn’t bleed that means that the big guy isn’t exactly human. So trying to go for human weak spots such as arteries might not work on him.

The kitsune continued to observe the man in warpaint as both Cedar and Jazdia started to engage him. The fox was rather curious to see if the explosive arrow to the neck would have any effect on him at all. For all he could tell for now he could be some sort of golem. If that was the case, they needed to find out where his core was located. For now Kaito chose to remain hidden in the illusion while continuing to observe the enemy combatant in order to find out where he was vulnerable to the sort of damage the fox could do with his short sword.
@MilkmanWill be keeping had track of resources like food, fuel, and money?

Hmm, thats a good question. I don't want track such things extensively and use running out of money, food, fuel more as story beats. However maybe a sense of economics increases the immersion. Currently thinking about how to put the cost part down in numbers without getting too much bogged down in number crunching and resource tracking.
We'll be using the common sense method. You're free to post but always keep an eye out for your fellow roleplayers. If you notice that someone is starting to lag behind or has not yet had the oppertunity to respond to a situation you have already responded too then wait a bit :)
Evren looked around at his crew. The captain wasn’t afraid that his crew would turn away from danger. As far as his knowledge went, most of them had danced with death before. What he did not know in advance was if people would have any moral objections working for Fat Pig. Vladimir Petrov is a well known scumbag that had no problems murdering people left and right. However most of his crew did not seem to have any reservations regarding doing a job for the infamous gangster.

From luck it didn’t surprise the fox at all. The programmers who had built his AI seemed to have forgotten to implement a moral compass that went beyond the scope of the ship and its crew. However they did not forget to give the droid a sense of humor. ”I’d hear that droid stew is a bit of a local dish here. However it tends to be a bit heavy on the stomach” Joked the captain with a smile.

For a moment the captain listened to Darien, the ship’s physician as he frantically tried to make sense of what the man was saying. The doctor had a thick accent and was often using local words and phrases making him often hard to understand. Sometimes it was impractical but as long as he knew how to patch people up after being shot, it was good enough for Evren's book. A big plus of the bobcat was that he was a former military doctor who had worked on the front lines. From experience the captain knew that those people can work wonders with what little resources they have under difficult circumstances.

Thinking about the Doc’s comments about Fat Pig being a gang leader made Evren realize the irony of working for him. The fox had more or less bought his ship in order to no longer have to work for assholes like the managers of megacorporations. It turns out that he now has to work for just a different kind of shithead to make ends meet. It made the man wonder if honest folk were a dying breed. ”Yeah Doc, you heard it right. Petrov is a gang leader. A real big piece of scum. In more than one way.”

As usual the Orangutan was mostly silent. She was a bit of a wallflower that struggled with being in the center of attention. The truth was that the fox knew very little about her but she has proven to be a competent mechanic. However it was hard to get an idea of what went really down inside her head. Even when she responded more or less positively to working for Petrov, the captain could not tell if she really meant it or if she just was giving the answer she expected that he wanted to hear. For now Evren decided not to press on the issue. He would like her to speak her mind freely but considering how she didn’t seem to be comfortable being in the center of attention, the fox deemed it more appropriate to do it in a more private setting.

Anxi didn’t seem to be phased by the prospects of working for some gangster. She had worked for the USN navy, an organization that some would classify as a criminal syndicate, or atleast the security apparatus of an oppressive regime. Evren guessed that she was used to doing other people’s dirty work.

For a moment the captain stared at the little pilot’s tail that moved playfully through the air behind her seat. ”Making good money is the plan. We’re not going to work for free.”

Since nobody voiced any objections against accepting the Fat Pig job, the captain set things in motion. ”We’ll be meeting Petrov in Kharak Town. There we will discuss the details of the job such as where to pick up the cargo, where to deliver and the details around payment.”

The fox paused a bit before he barked out some orders. “Anxi, contact Kharak Town spaceport and ask permission to land and get us to the ground asap. Once we land we’ll be meeting Fat Pig first. After that we stock up. Luck, run an inventory check on fuel, food and fresh water stocks. I want the Dauntless to be stocked for at least four weeks of flying. Karma, check if we need additional spare parts for the ship. Darien, how is the medbay’s inventory? I don’t know how long we will be flying so better make sure we’re prepared.”

Evren looked down on the brown yellow planet beneath. The weather of Taxore could be treacherous. Especially the sandstorms. They could ofcourse rent an enclosed hanger but that would cost a lot of coin. Better was to get off the planet as fast as possible. ”If possible I want to depart on the same day. I don’t want the ship to get caught up in a sandstorm. Then we’d be cleaning the engines for the coming week.”
Just give me a heads-up when you have made the additions and i'll read them over. As long as it involves kilts, haggis and whiskey i don't see any problems :D
We do demand a scene now where the doctor makes haggis for the crew :D
