Devika nodded, her lips stretching into a wan smile. "I got paid back for it." She turned her face, showing off a still-darkening bruise on her cheek from Gretchen's high-speed smack. "Thanks for listening, Kalinda. I... I really wonder what the school is thinking, letting someone who's both dangerous and doesn't give a damn about not hurting people into this place."

Devika shook her head. "No, I've never been violent with anyone that way. She was touching me and I didn't like it. Maybe that's why I did it." A slightly smug, satisfied smile crept onto her face. "She shouldn't have done that. It was really invasive."
