Jin was leading the knights on a merry chase, her laughter teasing. She was coming around for another loop, when she saw Korlash's head turned away from his opponent. The king's body language was tense- he was prepping to strike. "NO YOU DO NOT!" In a split second decision, she reeled back and threw her dagger, putting a sharp current of wind behind it. The dagger flew through the air with the speed of an arrow, and went into the king's fat neck, with the tip poking out the other side.

Jin didn't see her blow land, though. After she released her dagger, she wobbled on her feet and then fell, hard, tumbling several feet as she came to a messy stop on the ground. In the back of her mind, she knew she'd been very warm for a while. But when you fought, your body became warm, so she thought nothing of it. Now she was hot, as if she had spent a day lying naked in the bright sun. Her skin felt dry, and her mouth and throat were painfully parched. "Nngh. Not good." She pushed herself to her feet, still clutching her other new dagger, and started stumbling away from the battle again.
Devika pushed her sweaty curls out of her eyes, feeling her fingertips shake. "I'm... erm... going to the supply store in the theater district." She closed her eyes, wincing at the pain and adjusting her silver glasses. "They have the best art supplies in the city..." She opened her eyes slow, her light brown gaze sweeping the still bustling crowds. Where had that emotion come from? What was that creature? Unfortunately she could see nothing out of the ordinary.

Suddenly she realized that she was probably being rude. This guy had been quite kind to her, in the simple fact that he'd noticed her at all. "Ah, sorry. I'm Devika. You'll have to excuse me for not shaking hands. I have... a condition." Usually that was enough for people to both allow her freedom from the social greeting, and not ask questions about why. Thank goodness for American politeness. In lieu of a handshake, she bowed slightly at the waist. "Thank you for... caring."
Jin found herself in the midst of battle with the elven guards, and the king's knights. The knights had power and plenty of armor. The elves were armored too, but lighter. Jin had no armor at all. She let the elves do the engaging, while she kept moving around the battlefield, keeping the enemy knights off balance with gusts of wind and quick, accurate dagger strikes. THe battle was over quickly, with 3 knights dead, one bound, and the guards all alive. Most of them had taken injuries, but one of them had got a nasty gash on his arm that was bleeding profusely. It took three men to rush him off to the healer's hut. The rest started to cart away the dead men and the captured one, leaving Jin alone.

"Korlash.." Jin rushed back to the village entrance, to find it blocked by weaved branches. She let out a nasty string of swears concerning Korlash's parentage and farm animal excrement, before she saw a gap in the branches. A burst of wind carried her there, and her small body eased her way through the maze of wood, until she landed on her feet on the outside. A small woman in slim leathers made no noise compared to a group of knights, so Korlash's attackers failed to notice her. That was until she drove one of her new daggers through the tiny gap between the man's chestpiece and his helmet, driving it through the man's neck. She hit bone and kept pushing, ignoring the man's screams of pain. The scream was abruptly cut short- and the man dropped to the ground like a discarded puppet.

"What the-" The knights were looking at her in a mixture of rage and confusion. They were probably wondering how a five foot tall string bean of a woman managed to kill an armored man- but they saw her as a threat anyway.

"Come, cowards! Seven men and a pig with a stick against one? You must fear him so! I will be much easier game, yes?" She raised a particular finger at him, one that Korlash said was quite rude in human gestures. Then she ran, a slipstream of wind speeding her steps.
That's really helpful! Thanks Rarity.
Would mediation count as a skill?
I'm looking for a heavy fighter to partner with my mage. While I do see her carrying a heavy staff for comfort and defense, I don't think she'd be a constant warrior.
I'll be playing a half orc/ half human, who is a mage who primarily controls emotions.
It is ALIIIIIIVE!
I'm tempted to gloss it. Jin is not an up front hack and slash fighter. She relies on her speed and trickery.
