Oh geez! Poor kid... Wow.

>__< Yeah, go take care of little brother. That's crazy...
I'm pretty sure the gym is small enough that everyone saw or at least heard Kijani hit the ground.
Kijani came to the gym after Connor, as she'd stopped in the bathroom to try and adjust her clothing once again. She looked over the gym as she set her things down. A gymnastics course. No problem. She could do that in her sleep.

Kijani kicked off her shoes and headed toward the balance beam. She went over that easy, taking it at a run. The vault was simple, and she soared into a spinning leap. Then she hit the uneven bars, gaining momentum as she went from one to another.

Useless.

Her grandmother's voice whispered in her head, as she was leaping for the low bar. Her fingertips grazed it but never got to grip, and the miss sent her hurtling toward the ground. Landing hard on her side, she let out a whoosh of air, and then couldn't even inhale enough to scream. She lay there, writhing in pain.
Kijani nodded and grabbed her back. She headed to the door, and nearing Connor, her hand stretched out as if to stroke his face. She stopped partway there, wincing and shaking her head slightly. Then she waited, until he was out so she could lock up. "...have a good day, Connor." Without another word, she ran off.

I would say reduce his a philistines some.

"A philistines"...

Kath, your Autocorrect is really creative. Usually I can guess, but... yeah, I have NO idea what you were going for there.
*nod* Thanks for being patient.
Devika settled at the back of class, her backside and her pride still sore from earlier. She hadn't accepted the new guy's help, and she felt a bit bad about that. Honestly, she didn't want to explain "I can't touch people without getting all emo" to someone new, not right now. With a mild sigh, she pulled her hair into a messy ponytail and looked over the course in front of them. Dread was already forming in the pit of her stomach.
I don't know a lot about canon characters either. But there's plenty of resources for me to learn... I'm more judging the character for themselves and not their parentage, though. I mean, I had one character who was a powerful water mage, but his daughter could only work with ice. The power set doesn't have to be exactly the same.
Maybe 3? That way there are no ties... Majority rules and all that?

OG: Yeah, I agree about the overpower... This is a school. If your guy already knows everything he needs to know, then he doesn't need to be here.

"Because I care about you" Connor didn't even have to hesitate to answer. It came uncalled to his lips, genuine and true. "Is it so hard to believe that someone would do something for you, without expecting anything in return?" Connor already knew the answer to that, and he sighed, wishing he could fix everything. Yet all he could do was just be something stable. "Even if you don't believe it, it's true."

Kijani tried to smile at him. Her grandmother's words echoed through her head, and she flinched instead. Everyone else in her life had betrayed her or simply not cared. How could Connor be any different? Evidence didn't lie... "Well, at least you're... sticking to your story." She tried to reassemble her hair into something acceptable. "...We'll be late for class. I can wait outside if you want to wash."
