Kijani snorted lightly. "So glad I could earn your approval." Her voice was dry with sarcasm, and then with a twist of malice, she started speaking again. "If you call me sweetheart again, I'm going to cut your tongue out with an index card. We'll see how well you heal from that."

*grins brightly* She wasn't going to make an appearance in this story, I was saving that for another one of my many characters. But I may give her a cameo. I'm fond of Devika.

Yeah, this forum needs a system to tell people when the previous posts are tweaked. You should have left the mistake, it suits the character.

Fun Fact: Kijani's not afraid of fire. When she fought Mimic, he restrained her first, and that's what freaked her out. He could have been holding a butter knife and she would have reacted the same way.

Kijani rolled her eyes. It was hard to get insulted by someone who couldn't even use the right words. "One- it's pyrophobic, you mindless twit. Two- my weapon looks innocuous." She paused, and said gently, as if she was speaking to a little child. Which, in terms of intelligence, she was pretty sure she was. "Innocuous means safe, to use a word that's got a few less syllables for you. Three- I can improve on my skills. I will only get stronger." A low laugh escaped her. "What're you going to do when you hit your 20's and your body starts breaking down from rampant overuse?"

Kijani was rather offended at being called 'sweetheart', not really enjoying pet names from strangers. A nasty smirk twisted her lips as she responded to John. "You're welcome John. Every team needs an easily led mindless hunk of meat, and guess what? You win my vote." And this was exactly why she didn't like leading. She wasn't sure John could find his own balls if they didn't itch.

Kijani was surprised to be chosen as a captain. She winced inwardly as she looked over the other students, trying to determine who would be most useful without their powers. If Connor hadn't been another captain, he would have been her first choice. Her eyes darted from student to student. Anthony- too hardheaded to lead. Estella- ugh, definitely not. Finally she pointed out two. "John. Katherin." She smiled and tried to act somewhat leaderlike. A good leader was supposed to be confident, right? Ugh, but she hated it. She didn't want to be in charge- she figured that anyone who couldn't figure out what to do with themselves in a crisis could just stay the hell out of her way. She wasn't about to hold anyone's hand through anything. All those thoughts ran through her head, but the smile remained.
