"Connor swallowed lightly, "uh...it ah, feels pretty good at the moment.....uh." He could feel himself blush, but didn't turn away. "Actually ice might be good. But we shouldn't anger the batman more. Let's get our punishments first"

Kalinda smiled, and when they neared the class rooms, took devil as hand, wrapping them brh in shadows "ready?"

"Right." Kijani saw him beginning to blush, and realized belatedly that she was being rather touchy-feely. She quickly dropped her hand and coughed in an embarrassed way. "So... is Daddy Stark gonna be upset that you got into a fight?"

Devika looked around, getting nervous as everything sort of went dark and fuzzy around them. "Ready. Lead the way."

Connor smiled and laughed "that's true" he said, "but two days for throwing food? Harsh!" Still he laughed, "w-everyone will just have to keep you busy so you don't go nuts without them like you said"

Kalinda grinned, this would be a first. She had never actually used the shadows on someone else before. "Don't worry. It will be great. Everything is darker in the shadows though so watch where you step" she started towards the school building

"Yeah, it's kinda harsh. I mean, you shouldn't have been punished at all." Kijani reached out and touched his face, very gently. "Is your face hurting at all? Maybe we should get some ice on it or something."

Devika nodded and got up as well, taking her tray to a nearby garbage can before she followed along behind Kalinda. She was somewhere between excited and nervous- she'd never seen anyone else with visible magic up close before. This was going to be interesting.

"Yes, really" Connor said, pleased. Then he nodded "let's." He started walking again, feeling, actually, scared. He was about to loss the ability to fight. "It sucks you have a week punishment. I can't imagine even going two days

Kalinda smiled and held out a hand. Shadows formed around her hand, "like that. It won't hurt" she promised

Kijani shrugged slightly. "I've had to go without them before. I know I can survive it." She grinned a bit at him. "But yes, it does suck. It's like a piece of you is gone. But it'll sure remind me not to fight openly in this place." She was better off with a more subtle technique anyway.

Devika reached out and hesitantly poked Kalinda's hand with her fingertip, looking like she was afraid the shadows would bite her. "That's a neat trick. Sure, let's try it."

Connor despite himself smiled "I think of you were going to be in more trouble, you would already be. Don't worry. Listen, if you still want to we can proof the papers, just cause you can't use them doesn't mean we can't work with them" he started to speak fast, as if he was trying to get all the words out before he lost his nerve.

"Yeah. Maybe we can explore the classes and find one that worksl Kalinda said and suddenly she smiled "of you hold my hand, I can wrap us both in shadows so we can sneak in and out"

Kijani lifted her eyebrows, broken out of her state of panic. "R-really? I'd like to work on it, definitely. It'll keep me from going nuts without my powers. Let's get this punishment over with." Even though she really didn't want to be restricted, she knew she was already in a lot of trouble. The best thing she could do was accept her defeat with grace. Though, when Grandmother Waller heard about this... heads were going to roll. One of them would definitely be hers.

Devika raised her eyebrows, quite puzzled. "Wait, you can do what to me?" She blinked in confusion. "Will it hurt?"

Kijani wandered over to Connor with a still- terrified look on her face. "I yelled at Batman. Like.. in his face. I'm sure he's kicked a person's ass for much less than that... Oh, god, how dumb can I be?" She let out a weak little groan, before peeking at Connor. "On a scale of one being expelled and ten being put in Arkham, how much trouble do you think I'm in?"

Devika thought about it. "I'm not sure... I really just want more control over what I can do. I don't think I'm good enough to play hero." She'd never thought about it, even.

She's going to be looking over her shoulder for weeks. Then again, if it was Batman, would you even know he was there?

Kijani made a scoffing noise, her mouth dropping open. "I did want to help Connor! If I taught that asshole a lesson that everyone else seems to have missed, then that's all the benefit for the world." She rose and headed out of the classroom, head held high. That lasted all of a minute, before she started shaking. "Oh god, I just told off the freaking Batman. Oh god." He had been wrong about her motives. Well, half wrong. She really had intended to help Connor, but Mr. Wayne had been absolutely right in stating that her motive wasn't noble, not entirely. But still, who was he to judge her? He didn't know her!

Then again, he was Batman, he probably knew more about her than she wanted...

She groaned and buried her face in her hands. "Great... This just ruins everything." Missing a week of training was bad enough. Luckily she could work on her sword and fighting without the use of her powers. But it did interrupt her plans with Connor. She didn't realize she'd been looking forward to it until now.
