Devika gave Nick's hand a brief squeeze before pulling away. "If you insist, Nick." She had a feeling he wasn't being completely truthful. If he was able to just move on like nothing was wrong, then his reaction yesterday made no sense. There was no sense in forcing it. "I don't think I should eat, I feel-"

A distinct fake-sounding cough caught her attention. She turned to find some boy she didn't recognize eyeing them. A polite smile graced her face. "May I help you?"

Kijani headed for the cafeteria with bold strides, getting a protein heavy breakfast and a large glass of OJ. She spotted Connor amid the usual crowd, and went to him. "Connor, I-" Only then did she notice that he was fast asleep, a forkful of egg dangling precariously from his hand. "...heh." Slowly, she took the fork from him, lest he startle and stab himself in the eye. Then she put her tray down and softly kissed his forehead. "Damn, you even sleep cute." She then sat and started to eat, to leave Connor to wake on his own.

Nicholas putting his hand down and on the table going back to his emotionless tone of voice,That was when the stranger came over to them sitting down quietly he wore normal looking clothes but had bright yellow eyes and dark brown hair watching them.

Devika looked at him, utterly puzzled. "You didn't do anything, Nick. I..." She rubbed her cheek, a vein in her head throbbing slightly. Memories were coming back in chunks. "I... I tried to rescue you. I failed. I hope you weren't hurt when you were rescued."

Devika heard her name through her haze of confusion, and turned toward it. Nick was there, and she could see the faint signs of relief in his expression. He looked extremely grateful and happy to see her. Odd. Hadn't they just spoken yesterday?

She joined his side, looking barely energetic enough to make the short trip. "Good morning, Nick." She tried to smile, but her lips barely twitched. "Why do you look so happy to see me?"

I really wish the site would work for more than 5 minutes at a time...

So yeah. I'll be setting up Kijani's endgame soon. I just need one more push.

Kijani woke up when her face hit the floor. She groaned low, and picked herself up from the carpet. Her pajama shirt was drenched in sweat, and she could feel the nightmare still tugging at the corners of her mind. "Dammit... you should be over this." She prodded herself in the forehead with her fingers. "You have work to do." There was info gathering to be done, for Magneto... and perhaps she could work for Headmaster Wayne at the same time.

After speaking to Connor, consoling him- and herself- she'd gone back to her room and started a brand-new dossier. Students with power, students with skill, students who could be convinced to tread a path that wasn't so... rigid. Connor was still not on those lists. Even though she knew he fit the first two criteria, she wasn't sure about the last. So far, she knew that Connor had to have a reason to break the rules.

Time and time again, she wondered if she deserved someone like that, someone truly good. She wasn't sure that she did, at all, but Connor's persistence kept her from finding a viable reason to pull away.

Kijani showered and dressed for the day, then grabbed her things and went off to eat. She would need a balanced breakfast if she was to play a triple agent. It felt so good to have a purpose again.

Devika woke in the nurse's office. Everything hurt, like she'd been running a marathon... with hammers banging on her head. She wanted to vomit, and once she got up and went to the bathroom, she did just that when the paiin overwhelmed her. Slowly, she redressed and attempted to piece together yesterdady. Once she was dressed, gloved and turtlenecked, she made her way toward the cafeteria in a white fog.
