*softly hugs* Caits, you don't have to if you don't feel like it.
Kijani stirred, and her eyes opened. For several seconds, it was clear that she had no idea where she was. Her eyes, which were usually bright gold, were dull and faded, unfocused. Her gaze finally fixed on the only familiar thing in the room. "C-conn..." Her mouth didn't work. "Connor..." Suddenly she realized she wasn't in hell, she wasn't gone. She was still here, and even in the last thing she'd done to take her destiny back, she had failed. "No. No- no no-nononoooo---" Starting to shake, she tried to get up. Tried to, but her body was far too weak to respond. The covers felt like they were made of lead. She started to cry, silently at first, but then she curled and sobbed openly. It didn't matter who saw anymore. Nothing did.
@Mistress Dizzy Jack would smile a bit at that, seeing Jin and her plates. "You'll have o try a lot harder to out eat me. I have to keep pastes and protein bars on me at all times so I don't crash and burn. Running isn't as easy as everyone thinks." Jack was still pretty bothered, but he was at least glad to have some company.
Jin remembered just in time not to eat with food in her mouth. "Paste? What kinda paste?" She took a long drink of water. "I usually carry peanut butter crackers with me. I only eat like this after I use my powers." It was strange for her to talk about that so frankly. She'd always been a big eater, but now she could tell people why she ate so much. Or rather, how. Not getting those looks of 'where are you putting all that' and girls looking at her nasty when she ate double than they did... "You've gotta burn through food, though. Your power is always in use, right? So, what do you use? Maybe you can give me some tips, because-" She held out her hand. It shook slightly. A steady hand was a thief's bread and butter. It bothered her that hers weren't.
She was in the sky. Everything was dark, and cool, and peaceful. There was a rushing in her ears, like the sound of the sea. It was warmer, now. She wondered if she was going to heaven. Now there was yelling and screaming. Maybe she wasn't going to heaven. Maybe she was going to hell. She tasted bitterness, suddenly; a grit in her mouth like she was drinking sand. Then there was pain. -- Kijani lie on the clinic bed, barely conscious. Her breathing was shallow, and while she could hear bustle and movement and panic around her. Yelling. Her body hurt like it was on fire from the inside. The activated charcoal had made her vomit most of what she'd taken, but more started to come up, burning her insides like acid on the way. Her eyelids fluttered and she tried to speak, but nothing came up but bile and vodka.
I think that's part of my confusion. There's so many different DC things happening, but none of them are connected. Arrow, The Flash, the Nolanverse Batman... All of them really recent, and none of them matter. There's a lack of continuity, and I think it might hurt the movie.
*Blank stare* Shane?
I think its less to do with DC being lazy, or afraid of being called copy cats, and more an act of desperation. Marvel has been at this game for what, a decade now? DC have a lot of catching up to do, especially considering that they've already tried to create their unified cinematic universe twice now. This is their hail Mary pass, they need to get this shared universe of the ground now. They don't have time to wait for each hero of the Justice League to get their own movie, especially for the likes of Aquaman and Cyborg who aren't exactly center of the movie going public's attention. They gotta strike while the iron is hot, the hot iron being interest in superhero movies, and they can't afford another Green Lantern blunder. Better to stuff a cool looking Aquaman into a movie they know people will see, and hope the public will then want to watch a movie with that character as the hero, rather than give him a solo movie first and run the risk of it bombing and jeopardizing the whole endeavor. That's my take anyway.
That does make a lot of sense, I have to admit.
Caits, take your time with your reply. I have to go, and I won't be back until late evening.
Ok! I'm still not certain on the whole tagging thing, but there's a bit on the end for you, Caits. BTW: The music I was listening to on repeat while writing that. http://youtu.be/Nqh4Z8nfyDs
Christ. I don't know what to write. Are you really killing her off?
I am not. I am going to amend my post, though. Stand by.
