Kijani arrived at the gym to find many other students already waiting. They were loud, and boisterous, and she was starting to just want a book and a quiet corner. So she took a seat far away from the others, near a boy and some red-haired girl with massive headphones. She looked closer. No, earmuffs. They weren't feeding sound, they were blocking it. Again, she felt lucky, to have a power that she didn't have to worry about that much.

There was a generic looking man in a black suit hovering nearby, and as Kijani looked around, she noted another. She wondered who they were for. She also wondered if they were her grandmother's people. Sure, her grandmother had 'gone into retirement', but Kijani knew that just meant she wasn't doing the actual footwork of the job anymore. Amanda Waller never quits- Kijani had grown up at her grandmother's knee hearing that phrase. She knew she wanted to be just like that. Unquenchable, unstoppable- and powerful.

Drawing herself from her memories, she chanced to wave at the two she was sitting near. If that girl needed something that big to block sound, then perhaps Kijani didn't need to speak.
That's cool of you, Knight. I appreciate that.
I'm semi-afraid to go to bed. I may not be on tomorrow and I know I'm gonna get left behind...
Automatically, she opened her wallet and dropped 5 bucks on the table. "Keep the change..."

Kijani started to feel rather distant as the room began to fill up with people. They were obviously there to have a good time, and as she watched them interact, she realized she'd never seen people having that much fun. Sure, there was liquor, but no one looked completely plastered or high, there was minimal flirting, and it all looked so... real. She'd never been at a party like that- where the object was to actually enjoy yourself as you were. Instead of being seen, or getting as high as possible, or getting attention from drama.

She felt the tears pricking at her eyes. Maybe it was the alcohol loosening the lid on her feelings. She pushed a suddenly shaking hand through her locks and fought back the sudden, unwelcome urge to burst into tears.
Kijani Ryane

Kijani heard the announcement over the PA system and smiled a bit. She only had human strength, but she knew brute force wasn't the only brand of strength. By the end of this class, she'd have plenty of knowledge, if she kept her eyes open. She pulled up a map of campus, printed it, and headed for the gym.
I must tell you, Dioxide, I'm already liking Sue. The poor girl. I just want to hug her.

Kijani's very good with languages- maybe I'll have her study sign language and make a friend.
Ah, question. I somehow assumed it was nighttime in the town. But you're saying it's 3.. is that afternoon, or the middle of the night?

Zero chuckled at Kljani's response to his joke," Ha, I'm more of the beat you with my staff kinda guy, I don't do martial arts, it's too much, twist your wrist here and ankle here to kick someone." Zero said performing a fake kick away from her." Hey I'm gonna go check things out, I'll see you later I hope." he said to her before bursting into a large smoke cloud and turning into a cat, he passed her and started heading to the school.

"Oh! Goodbye, then..." She startled, slightly, when he burst into smoke and a little black cat appeared in his place. That was a nice trick- think of the applications and advantages of animal shapeshifting! Definitely something to watch. Kijani started to walk toward the school, waiting in line to get signed in and choose a dorm. She wound up picking a dorm nearest to the library. Might as well save some energy. Then she started to look through her electives to see what sounded like something she could do.

Zero smiles and holds his hands up like Kijani has a gun pointed to him," Uh oh everyone we got a badass over here." Zero said as a joke hoping she would laugh at it, He soon put his hands in his pockets hoping she would get it.

Kijani was surprised to find a small laugh escaping her. She'd never been teased in a kind way before, it was new but not necessarily unwelcome. However, she couldn't resist a response. "You have no idea." She smirked with pride, then turned toward the main building when a guy began speaking. Who did this fool think he was, king of the school? If he was just a student like the rest of them, that meant he hadn't worked out all of his faults yet. One of those faults being major overconfidence. Idiocy had it's uses, though, and Kijani would remember the name and face. As students started to file in, she nodded to Zero.

"I'm looking forward to learning how to really fight. Martial arts are fascinating."
Kijani blinked a few times, slightly startled as the bartender returned. Her gaze went briefly to the table. Somehow her burger was mostly gone, and her glass was empty. Damn, when had that happened? She'd been so lost in thought that the food had gone down automatically. She turned her attention back to the bartender and forced a smile that probably wouldn't fool anyone. "Ah... just a Coke and lime, no rum." She had driving to do, after all, and she wasn't dumb enough to drive drunk, no matter how unhappy she felt. She ran a hand through her dreadlocks and heaved a half-silent sigh.
