I did make an awesome statue of my boyfriend before the valentines day dance."Katherin bounced around inside the walks she made. Before popping out to start another tower.

"That sounds nice." Devika continued to build for a while, with the ever perky Katherine, but eventually she began to get very cold. "Hey, thanks for letting me help you. See you later, Katherine." She waved at the younger girl and trudged off into the snow toward her dorm.

The man watched Joshua warily as he told his story, frowning, unsure. But when Joshua nearly collapsed, he realized that if this was a ruse, it was a pretty damn good one. He quickly holstered the gun, and went to Joshua, gripping the other man's arm. "Easy, fella." He made sure Joshua made it to a sitting position, so he wouldn't be injured if he passed out. "There are some real pieces of work in this town. S'why I stay way over here, outta their way." He frowned, looking around. "I ain't no doctor, but I think you got a concussion. You ain't supposed to sleep... so don't." While he was willing to help this man, he was unsure about what he could actually do for him.

Katherin frowned. "Summer sucks. I don't handle the heat really well. My powers aren't as strong. My dad says it's all in my head. But if winter can whisper to us filling us with cold energy. It makes sense to me that summer would do the opposite."

Devika nodded, grabbing another handful of snow. "Makes sense, I suppose... I'm sure you can overcome that. Tell me. Do you create the snow, or do you just move it around with your powers?"

"It has to do with my powers. Winter whispers to me. My dad says to just go with it. When the cold air fills us we got to do something." Katherin babbled happily. Inside the wall she had built earilier Katherin was moving none stop. She moved from spot to spot unable to stand still.

"You get your powers from your father? That's... that's good." She wondered, briefly, if one or both of her parents had powers. If they had, why would they have given her up? She pulled herself out of her thoughts, watching Katherin bounce almost literally off the walls. "So... what happens in summer?"

"Build! I have started the tower. Why don't you work on that I will start another one." Katherin showed Devika where to build. Katherin danced and hummed under her breath as she worked. "Alright I'm back I love winter!"

"Uh, okay." Devika picked up a large handful of snow and started packing it in tight. The crisp, cold air made it easy for her to think, which was unfortunate. Because she didn't want to think about anything. "I can tell you like winter, Katherin. It's all over you. The joy."

"Oh I don't think we have offically met." Katherin states excitedly. She pratically bounces in place. "I am really good with names. My name is Katherin. Come build with me. Winter is calling and I want to build a beautiful castle."

"A... pleasure to meet you, Katherin." The girl's excitement was pouring off of her in waves, and Devika briefly wondered if Katherin was on something illegal. She had to build a barrier just to keep from absorbing it and getting too hyper. "So, what would you like me to do?"

As she worked Katherin saw bright colors out of the corner of her eyes. She was thrilled to see she wasn't the only one enjoying the cold winter evening. Pausing the construction on her snow fort, Katherin headed in the direction of the colors. It was one of the newer girls. Devika, Katherin thought. "Hello Devika. Would you like to help me build a snow castle. It's going to be BEAUTIFUL!"

Devika turned her head, as someone called out for her. She smiled a bit. "Snow castle, huh? I haven't done that kind of thing in years." Despite how she was feeling, she figured a bit of friendly distraction couldn't hurt. "Do I know you? I mean, you already know my name..."

The Orphan's Wedding

At hearing Feather's voice, Kijani whirled. Of course the girl would be awake already. She would have been up from dawn, likely as not. As Feather started to speak, and express her worry, Kijani slowly went down the stairs. Her hands shook on the banister.

"Food sounds..." Like something she couldn't handle. Her stomach was ice on the inside, and she was certain anything she put on it would come back up. "Well, perhaps I'll have some tea. A nice cup of hot tea sounds wonderful about now." She tried to put a smile on her face, for propriety's sake. "You're lovely, you know that? So lively, and so hardworking. Could you prepare me some tea and bread?" Maybe if she could get a handle on her stomach, she could manage a walk outside. Anything to get out of her mind. Inwardly, she wondered about what Feather had said last. Had Mr. Croil had a bad night as well? She wondered why, but quashed the question. It wasn't her business. She was certain that the last thing he'd want was some spoiled city girl prying into his business.
