Anthony forces Kijani to wait a few minutes while he eats more of his meal, then wipes his mouth with a napkin. "Well my father served one term as President, and shortly after he was inaugurated, Amanda Waller stopped working for the government. When I saw this I was curious about why, so I dug a little deeper. Apparently, they were very public about how they disagreed with each other about using superpowered beings as government agents."

Kijani raised her eyebrows. "News to me." She drank her water, then leaned her chin on her steepled hands, fixing Anthony with a steady gaze. "Do get to the point, Mr. Luthor." She was being very deliberate, especially in using his last name. She knew he was up to something. The questions were: What was he up to, and what did it have to do with her?
*watches with popcorn* OMG this is awesome! Do it, Kalinda, just for the hell of it!

Anthony chuckles slightly before replying, "Quite the contrary, actually. During some research I was doing into the projects that my father had done before, I stumbled across something interesting. I assume you know that she worked for the United States government at one point."

Kijani nodded. That was something she'd known the bare minimum about- it was one of those things her grandmother refused to talk about. Usually because Kijani 'didn't need to know'. "Yes, I'm aware..." She frowned, wishing she wasn't starting to get confused. "What does that have to do with your father, Anthony?"

Anthony nods and replies as he sits down, "Thank you." He takes a few bites of his meal, then a sip of orange juice before asking, "Tell me Kijani. What do you know about your grandmother's past?"

Kijani raised her eyebrows. She knew Anthony must have wanted something other than a friendly breakfast. "Well. I know she's got power. And connections. But I really don't know specifics." She paused, taking a bite out of a melon slice before she spoke again. "I've asked, but... she's been less than forthcoming. I'm guessing she's done some things she's not terribly proud of. I've also tried to find out on my own. The problem is, a great deal of my research abilities are due to the doors that open when I name drop the people she's chosen for me... and they aren't talking." She looked to him. "Why? Do you need information?"
"Gotta do somethin'." He said with a slight shrug. For some reason, he felt tense. Like he was being watched. "Hang on." He carefully unholstered his pistol again, heading toward the area that he felt the tension increasing from. "Someone's watchin us. You try and get somewhere so you don't get shot."

Jinny backed up as the man with the gun came closer. Mr. Josh had told her not to come out until he said apple pie, but she was getting scared. She didn't want to get hurt. She kept on backing, and was probably making even more noise.

Anthony arrives at the school and decides to wait for Sue in the cafeteria. He grabs a plate with some fried eggs, bacon, and buttered toast, then looks for a place to sit. He spots Kijani, takes a deep breath, then approaches her. "May I join you?" he asks.

Kijani picked her head up from her food, surprised to see Anthony. They weren't exactly friends, but they weren't enemies either. She could manage a meal with him. "Sure. Free country." She began to eat again, unable to stop a slight flinch from the pain in her side.
Kijani headed to breakfast, trying to keep the pain from her face. Her scar was throbbing and irritating, and she wanted something for the pain. "Mm... eggs or waffles..." She grabbed some scrambled eggs and sausage, and several pieces of fruit.
Devika went to her corner table after grabbing breakfast, trying to keep the smile on her face as she ate her cereal. She would have been sitting outside, but the morning was cold, and she was trying to train herself to block out the emotions.
Kassy waited calmly, until the men were good and gone. Only then did she let them be visible again. Now she was worried. Charlie wouldn't stop shaking, and his lips and fingertips were slightly blue. "Oh dear..." She tugged off her own tunic. It was made of seacloth, and therefore it dried very quickly- water simply didn't cling to it. The tunic was thin, but would hold heat well enough. "Wear this." She gently dressed the boy in her own clothes, which were far too loose. But they would be at least somewhat warm. "Charlie, dear, why are you shaking?" That wasn't normal shivering... "Talk to me.."
Kijani woke up on the floor. She groaned, rubbing a hand across her face. The memories of last night's rest were vague, but most of them were horrible. She was having nightmares again. Silently, she lifted her shirt, gazing down at the long scar that marred her slim torso. The old wound was red and puffy, as if it were a fresh cut, and an infected one at that. "Mmph... calm down, you." She spoke to her body, before picking herself off the floor. After a quick shower, she packed her things and headed out for the morning.
Devika was determined to make the most of her day, to write off yesterday as a wash. She dressed in yellows and oranges, brilliant summer colors, to fight against the dreary winter. She even wore a flowered headband, just to keep her spirits up. She headed off to breakfast, trying to keep a smile on her face. Even if she didn't really feel it.
