Ben nods, "Thanks," he says while thinking, He trades spots with Kalinda and says, "I don't know who I'd want to spar either. I guess I'll just ask for a volunteer."Though normally calm while in much racier situations, John's heart starts beating faster as Devika's hand grasps his own. After Devika withdraws her hand, having placed John's hand properly, his heart regains its natural rhythm. He obeys her instructions, and the speeding ball sends the ten pins flying in every direction.

Devika had to dodge out of the way of the incoming ball, but laughed and cheered when she realized he'd gotten a strike. "Yes! John, that was awesome! Just let it go a few seconds earlier, and you won't send the pins everywhere. Or the ball through the back of the bowling alley." She grinned at him, and went to gather the scattered pins.

That's what I'm told. But I never did. Also Dizzy, yes there is. Maxine and Estella are alone. Maxine even called out to see if anyone would join her. But no one answered. So I plan to RP with myself.

I don't think she was in the scene when you were posting... Kijani's certainly not going to go with Estella. But who's Maxine? Someone new, I gather?

John nods and after he resets the pins, grabs his ball and asks Devika, "Alright, how did you want to help me?"

Devika thought hard about how to explain what to do. "Well, I noticed you're a bit heavy handed. I mean, I guess you're used to it. But sometimes you need a precise touch." She gently arranged his hands over the ball, so they were barely holding on. Devika was holding her breath while she did so, making sure she wasn't transferring emotions to John, though it was impossible for her to stop completely. He'd probably absorb her nervous excitement, which was the emotion at the forefront of her mind. "Okay." She directed him toward the pins. "Toss it like... like you're trying to land a frisbee on a target." She left him and took up a position behind the pins.

I'd have Kijani interact, but she's sort of in shock right now. Plus there's no one else to pair off with.

"I am." She went and rescued her ball, strolling back and taking careful aim. She had to position herself a little differently, but with careful angling, she did manage to knock down the final pin. "Yes! Two for two... You're up, Johnnie boy."

John sets the pins back up quickly, then gives Devika a high five as he passes her. "Nice!" he says with a smile. He picks up a bowling ball, takes a deep breath, then sends the ball hurtling towards the pins. He knocks down all the pins except the 4,6, and 7 pins.

"Not bad!" Devika grinned as she reset the pins, and then she grabbed her ball. She exhaled, aimed, and let fly. The ball careened down the path and struck 9 out of 10 pins, leaving the 10th in the corner wobbling precariously. "Awww, man." She shook her head, but was laughing. "Almost got it." She paused, thinking a bit. "Hey, John- let me help you with your next bowl, okay? I have an idea."

John nods, "Go right ahead. I've never been very good at bowling, it's sort of like dodgeball for me. I have plenty of power, but not very much accuracy when throwing things."

Devika nodded. "Maybe I can help you work on that." She aimed, exhaled slow, and moved forward, letting the ball fly from her fingertips at just the right moment. It barrelled down the alleyway and crashed into the pins, scoring her a solid strike. "Whoo!" She let out an excited little cheer. "Awesome."

Devika smiled a bit as John approached. "I guess I do." She waved briefly at the cute redheaded girl who was waving at her, then got up and headed down to grab a bowling ball. "Okay, I guess I'll go first, if you don't mind." She actually bowled quite a bit when she was at her previous school. It was just something to do on campus. She'd gotten fairly adept at it, and could hit strikes even after a few beers. Since she was completely sober, she should be even better.
