Kijani sighed very softly, keeping her voice low. "It's fine. He's probably right. This is crazy, but I have to know." And on they went. Kijani was doing her very best not to be hurried, but her heart was thumping faster with every step. She knew this was insane. If they did find her father, how did they get him out of the cell and back to the ship in one piece? Then a thought occurred that nearly stopped her in her tracks.

What if they didn't? What if this was all false? What if he had been here, but was already...

Would the grief take her again, make her useless? She wouldn't let that happen.

"Adam, I have a sort of plan. When we get there, you have to tell the guards that.. um... the emperor has some questions for him. If it is him. If it's not him, then I am going to weep later." There, that was a plan. Not a solid or even mostly coherent one, but it was something. Her mother would be disappointed.
"See Rox, I come to you because you don't ask questions. Like, why's your bike smoking, and are those bullet holes, and why do you always pay in cash. Nope, you just do your thing and I love that."

With an admonished look at Roxy's yelling, J went to turn the fan on. Only then did he notice Devika, who was just stepping into the room.

"Hey there. It's a surprise to see a new face around here." J sidled smoothly up to Devika. "The names Jin, but you can call me J if you like. Everyone else does." There was an easy grin on their face.

Devika smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you, J. I'm Devika. Please forgive me for not shaking hands. I-" She briefly considered lying. Making up some other reason why she wouldn't shake hands. Like, she had a cold. Or a deadly skin rash. But it occurred to her that if she was going to be around, she might as well be as honest as possible. "I'm an empath. Skin contact kind of messes with me. Sorry."

"Oh. No worries!" J looked curiously at Roxy, then back to Devika. "She's your anchor, then?"

"Yep. She's my anchor."

"Huh." J rubbed their chin, and smiled a bit wider. "It's like having a permanent roommate, right?"

"Maybe at the start, but once we get settled, I'll be able to be farther away."

"Cool, cool." J looked Roxy up and down. "Hey Rox, at least you got stuck with someone cute. World isn't all bad."

Devika blushed a little bit.
Okay! I'm glad you understand.
I thought Roxy did eat, but I may have misread. Devika ate though.
Retail, hm? My condolences.

I hope my post is alright. Precision is something Jin is going to be very, very good at, even if she may not be able to explain completely at this age. Basically, it's all numbers to her, and she's very good with numbers. It will hopefully make sense in the next few posts.

It's weird. I'm terrible at numbers, distances, directions... trying to write someone who understands those things as easy as breathing. It's kind of hard sometimes, actually.
Jinny hopped up from the table and followed, and what she saw next thrilled her to no end. First, a secret passage in the garage – super awesome! Then, what could only be a superhero suit! She had so many questions. She stalled at that for some time, simply staring at it, before she remembered she was supposed to be following. When they stopped, she was bouncing with excitement. This was going to be the best school!

When Slade started to speak, she listened with rapt attention. She didn’t fully understand everything, but she got the gist of it. Her eyes watched the darts land in the dummy, one right after the other in a neat little line. She was going to learn that? Very cool.

“Yes, I am ready.” She stopped bouncing and took the dart from him, rolling it between her little hands. “Okay. I can do this.” She studied the target and without warning, she threw the dart.

It bounced off of the dummy and hit the ground with a metallic tinkle. “Aw man...” Not one to give up quickly, she picked up the dart and threw it again. And again. And again! Each time it got a little closer to the target, but it wouldn’t stick. Jinny went from excitement, to irritation, to a little ball of girl fury. But she still wasn’t going to give up. If she failed at lesson one, then how was she going to get stronger at all?

She rolled the dart in her hands again, dark eyes staring down the target. Then, unblinking, she slowly tipped her head to the left, then to the right. “Oh. I get it.” Then, lips moving as if she were working something out, she took a step backward, exhaled, and launched the dart once more, with her whole body behind it.

This time, it stuck right beside Slade’s.

“That’s better.” And she looked up to him for approval.
Jin groaned as she picked herself off the ground. “What the hell was that..” She mumbled, checking herself all over. Now she was even more bruised and dirty. Fantastic. She quickly realized she wasn’t in Tokyo anymore, and slowly approached the other people who, from the looks of it, were just as lost as she was.

There were two catty looking girls arguing with each other, one guy yelling at them, another guy standing there looking pissed and holding his head, and one irritatingly cheery girl who’d done the dumbest thing and introduced herself to a bunch of strangers like someone cared.

“No one cares what your name is.” She managed to say, before brushing leaves off her backside. Then she started to walk, determined to get out of the trees and to somewhere where she could at least see civilization. She already missed the city.
Devika grinned as Roxy appeared. "You're very welcome. And another new person. I'm ready as I'll ever be." She tried to assure Roxy that she was prepared.

Not long after, the noise of a motorcycle engine came closer and closer to the shop. The person on it beeped the horn, and slowly drove their bike into Roxy's garage. Then they climbed off, the bike's tailpipe smoking slightly. This person was about 5 foot nothing, in a rich purple leather jacket and riding boots. With a grin, they pulled off their helmet and called out.

"Rox, I'm here!" It appears this was the infamous "J". "Come work your magic!"
Kijani inhaled slow, weighing her options. If it was her father - if he had somehow managed to escape the destruction of their home - then she would live every day in guilt for not going to him. For not trying. If her father was there, and she didn't go to him, and he died... what kind of ruler did that?

"...if I was the one in that cell, my father would come for me. I know this is crazy, Han, but I have to do it. If I don't, I'll spend the rest of my life wondering... what if?" She wanted to rub her face, but the helmet prevented that.

"Alright. So we're in the main corridor, here, right?" She pointed to the map. "It looks like there's a smaller, service corridor mostly used for the droids and repair engineers. If we're trying to get there without being seen, this is our best bet. I think."

She looked up at the two men. "Sound good?"
I will try to post this weekend. Sorry for the wait.
