Heh. Anthony's going to get a detail tomorrow that Professor X may not have...
Kijani frowned, confused. They'd never tested her memory at the lab before. But she didn't want to get strapped down again, so she started to talk. "They took me in a van. A white one. It had no windows. I don't know how long it was before we stopped." She paused, thinking. "Then I was here, and... they gave me a shot. Like... with a needle, but there was something in it... A little black thing." Her hand strayed to her aching side. "And then they burned my fingers. And then they cut me." Her eyes were going further blank. "And... other... stuff. They gave me white clothes and they took me to where all the others were." Her childlike eyes filled with tears. "I don't remember anyone's name! All I know is the powers! Please don't strap me down again!"
One more post while I brush my teeth and set my alarm.
Unfortunately I've got to sleep really soon. Must be up early for a family gathering. >< But I want this finished.

As Kijani begins to flip out, Anthony sits down at the table and rubs his chin thoughtfully for a moment. He then leans forward, watching her with interest, and says, "Kijani, either answer my questions, or we'll restrain you and begin the tests once again. Understand?"

Kijani stared at him, wide eyed. She was seeing him, but not truly. Slowly, she nodded. She was trembling from head to toe, gone from cocky young woman to terrified child in mere minutes.
Okay, post is up...

My rationale is... on a person in a normal state, Anthony's subconscious power would work well enough. But Kijani's not nearly in a normal state- and Anthony's not strong enough yet for his powers to affect someone in the middle of reliving a trauma. Makes sense?

If not, I can switch it.

Anthony looks at Kijani with an almost bored expression, his eye's becoming a steely gray as he says, "Ms. Rayne, if you wish to dispute my research, do so with facts. Don't insult my intelligence or dedication by simply passing off research that I've spent months on as simply a mistake."

Kijani was breathing rapidly, nearly to the point of hyperventilating. Her eyes were fixed on the paper, but she wasn't reading it. She'd read it all- and like everything she read, each word was etched into her memory permanently. Now the words were bombarding her with their cold indifference, telling her the truth that she didn't want to know. Anthony's pheremones should have calmed her, but she was too panicked, too stuck in the flashback for them to work entirely. Her mind was half in the lab all over again, and yet half was pushing along toward a conclusion she didn't think possible.

Her grandmother had started Alpha. Her grandmother had continued Alpha. Her grandmother knew. Her grandmother had known. Her grandmother, the only person who had ever listened to her about Alpha, had known the entire time.

The other half of her mind looked around, golden eyes darting as she searched for a weapon, any weapon in the lab inside her mind. The stink of copper and bleach pervaded everything, and her hands balled into fists as she rose from the table, backing away. "G-get away from me!" Her voice was higher, girlish. "Stay away!" Anthony was in a lab coat, his face obscured by light.
*squeals* Puppeh!

Knight, I'm gonna push a limit here with Kijani, let me know if it's too much.
Puppies! ^__^

Just what I needed to get the spider out of my head.
Night Someone, sleep good. I do the same thing, BTW.

Knight... ah... Kijani's not going to do so good in about a minute.
