So it was just another way to say her name. "Oh." She She thought for a moment. "I think I'll pass on that name. It's still just a number." People were leaving the cafeteria and 533 watched them. "Class time?" Estella headed to gym with everyone else.

"Yep. Class time." She shoveled down a few more forkfuls and drained her water before getting up. "Would you like to walk with me?"

Anthony's finally got Kijani to listen- but I really don't know how long it'll last.

As an aside- why IS he helping her? I have several theories, but I'd like the facts.

"Also, explain the cat thing to me- I've heard the term but I'm missing what a maybe-dead-radioactive cat in a box has to do with any of this."

I'm going to have Kijani look that up on her phone... probably in Simple English Wikipedia, because damn if regular Wiki isn't confusing as shit.

Is it your friends? No, it's me. I may not be successful in getting you to talk to me, but at least I make an attempt to comfort you when it's obvious you need it." He begins to walk away, continuing towards the gym.(It's up to you whether or not to continue the conversation.)

Kijani stared after him in clear confusion. As Anthony was nearly out of earshot, the question came on it's own. "...why?" She sounded lost, which was somewhat new for her. "Why would you just... advise me like this?" She couldn't think of what he hoped to gain from her happiness.

533 stared at Devika for a moment trying to decide what she thought of the name. "What the hell does that mean?"

Devika smiled. "They're Greek numeric prefixes. Penta is 5. Triaconta is 30. And tri again, is 3. But when you put it all together, it just sounds pretty and exotic." She let that sink in as she took a long drink of water. "That's the thing about this place. You can discover yourself here- who you really are, all parts of you, not just some of you. And you can reinvent yourself, too. You don't have to be the person they want."

Yeah, I didn't have Kijani respond because by the end of her little rant there, I'd forgotten.

Also- I have absolutely no clue what that means. I mean, I've heard of it? I know the riddle/story/problem, but I don't get what the hell it actually means.

Kijani's studied a lot of things. Quantam theory is not on the list.

Devika raised her eyebrows. "No name? Well, that's rude of them..." She rubbed her chin momentarily, then pulled out a piece of paper and pencil. She scribbled rapidly for a bit, crossing some things out and writing others. Finally she grinned and looked up. "How about... Penta? And if they ask for your full name, you can be Penta Triacontatri." The syllables flowed from her mouth without a hitch.

You say that he sees what he wants to see, but it seems like that's what you're also doing. You assume that he'll turn on you, but you haven't bothered to give him a chance. Have you ever heard of Schrodinger's cat?"

Kijani felt her breathing start to slow down. The insult had been petty, but she wasn't at her wittiest when she was upset. "It's more than a fear of trust, Anthony. It's a knowledge based on data and experience." Despite the odd calm she felt, her hands shook slightly. "Fact: When you need them most, the people you call for will let you down. Fact: Do not be in a situation where your survival depends on another person. Fact: You are alone, whether you see it or not." Her tone was calm, but the words... "It doesn't matter, you see? Your last name is just a name. Your parents are just the people who spawned you. In the end... it all comes down to what you are in the dark." Her lips twitched into a eerie resemblance of a smile. "By the way, I don't dislike you because you're a Luthor. I dislike you because you're an ass."
