Uh.. I'm really confused.

What are they supposed to do- what's the difference between the teams?
Name: Jinayah Ifriti
Age: 11
Description or Pic: Little Jin is small for her age, and skinny. Despite being 11, she looks more like a 9 year old. She has warm brown skin and black hair to her shoulders. Her eyes are black, and her Japanese heritage is easy to see. Jinny's face is very cute-looking and sweet, and her small size makes her even more adorable to the casual onlooker. Only another criminal would see the shrewdness in her eyes.
Mask Picture:
Skills/ Weapons: Jinny has quick, small hands that make her a skilled pickpocket. She's also excellent with lockpicks, but hasn't encountered all locks yet. Her eagerness and young mind make her a wonderful learner, and she's willing to take the suggestions of an older, more experienced criminal. Because of her youth, and her realization that she's still in training, she doesn't have an ego that would get in the way. But she still has pride. She can get into small spaces that other thieves can't. She's also very good at playing the innocent- because of her age and size, she can get away with plenty. She Is also learning to understand blueprints and schematics. She is also excellent with numbers.
History: Jinayah was born to a police officer and a court stenographer. She enjoyed a happy, normal child's life until she was five, and it was ripped away from her. An escaped criminal that her father had put away years ago came looking for revenge. He shot Jinny's father and mother- Jinny escaped death because the criminal didn't know she existed. Out of terror, she ran far away from her home and into the city. From there, she learned how to survive on her own. While she tried to be a 'good girl' and ask people for money, the greedy world didn't afford her enough handouts to survive on. She learned to steal and steal well, out of necessity. First food, then wallets.

One fateful night, she picked the pocket of a blonde man who was more alert than anyone else. While she did get his wallet, he noticed very quickly, and chased her down. He was so impressed with the quick handed little girl, that he adopted her. The man in question was a European thief known as the Blue Piuma, infamous in several European countries, but less known in the US. He started to teach Jinny to hone her skills and pick up more, and loves her like she's his own child. It was he who contacted Thieves Inc. to offer her experience with working with other teachers, learning things that he couldn't teach.

Other: Despite being a budding thief, Jinny is still a kid. She enjoys building complex Lego models and dreaming up thief tools. She also has difficulty reading- which is something she's quite embarrassed about.
Kijani stopped by the bathroom, wiping her face and tidying herself. Once she was back in control and looking composed, she went to class as if nothing was wrong. No one could see her weakness. Unfortunate that some already had, but she could still control the damage. She settled in the bottom row, her shoes squeaking on the gym floor.
Devika led 533 to the gym, and sat a little apart from the other students. Her power was a bit sensitive today, and already she felt a bit tired from holding her mental walls in place.
But would it be ok for me to play her as a kid?

No one suspects cute kids.

It's the perfect cover.
if this has space, I have a thief looking to make her mark.

If anyone's seen Ocean's 11- she'd be like Linus. Comes from a long line of thieves, but doesn't have her name on the map yet.

EDIT: Had an interesting idea!! The thief in question started young. Very young. I usually play her about 10 years old... She's got a cute face- she knows it, and uses it. She's also quick handed, and extremely street smart.

Any one looking for an apprentice?

You know how at the very beginning of some movies, you're shown a climatic scene from the end of the movie, then later on you're shown the events leading up to it? This was similar. I showed you the climatic event, the simulation, then afterwards, the students remember going into the Battle Simulation class. I don't think I'm explaining myself very well...

I get that part. It works for movies. But it doesn't work for writers. You're having us write our characters reacting as if they knew something... that we as writers didn't know. It's an impossibility.

Anyway, what's done is done, I must rest.
What Knight's saying makes sense in universe. The issue here, I think, is that it wasn't practiced in the writing. You're saying our characters know something we don't, and that's like... well, a paradox and a half. You surprised US, the writers, with where our characters were, and having to play our characters like we knew all along... sort of sounds pretty much like metagaming.

@Dizzy: You're almost dead on. However, he has no problem with the way he is. He sees a need for social interactions in Kijani that he himself doesn't feel. He knows that her personality is similar to his and knows that she won't be happy if she becomes any more like him. While he enjoys Sue's company immensely and he does care for her, for instance, he wouldn't be any worse off if she had rejected his advances. He doesn't feel lonely, but he knows that Kijani can.

*nods* That's very succinct... Kijani does deal with that a lot, well into adulthood. She can be the life of the party to other people's eyes, the rich girl with everything, but... within? It's a different story.

*calmly sows the seeds in Kijani's dialogue*

533 shrugged and stood up. "Might as well. Which class is first?"

"Gym, I think? That's usually... interesting." She dumped her tray and led the way. "If you don't mind, I want to help you with this name thing. I chose the first name I tossed out because I figured it'd be a piece of yourself. But I agree- a number isn't a name, no matter how you spin it." She smiled a bit. "I... er... I'm kind of a writer, and I have a bunch of naming books. You should choose your own name!"

Anthony ignores Kijani's first statement, and instead answers her question, "You seem familiar with the thought experiment, so I won't bore you with the details. Basically, you can't be certain of the outcome of an action or event unless you attempt it or witness it. You can't know if Connor and your friends will turn on you because of who you are, unless you show them who you really are."

Kijani huffed slightly, ready to retort... only to open her mouth and realize she didn't have an argument. "..." She shut her mouth and looked perturbed. Her eyes shifted downward. "...there's something you're not getting, though. Even though.. I prepare for it. Even though I know it'll happen. When people reject me, and fail me... it hurts. You'd think I would be used to it, but every time, it's a fresh wound. I just-" Her voice cracked, and suddenly she was whispering. "I feel like one more good... hit... will break me for good." She didn't know if he heard her, or if he would understand if he did. But she shook her head, and started walking. In the opposite direction of the gym.
Well, my reasoning is very.. psychological, I guess?

Anthony sees something familiar in Kijani. He knows it because he has it too, but he hates it. So perhaps through trying to keep Kijani from self-destructing, or going so far down there's no way back... he feels that he is helping himself. (Specifically, his younger self.)
