And I'm in... Archive's always watching.

I may app a second character- a budding hero that's a sometimes-agent for Archive.
-Archive's Hideout-

Today had started pretty much normally for Archive. Morning tai chi, a light breakfast, meeting with a few loyal informants, and then right down to business. Compiling info for one client or another, spying on various organizations, monitoring police scanners and phone lines. The usual. It was almost boring.

But then the reports started coming in, one after another, from all of her sources. She couldn't believe it, but the truth was right there in front of her.

Someone had killed Starbird.

An explosion at an abandoned building in the older part of town had drawn the police, and the bodies of Starbird and an unknown woman had been discovered inside. Both shot dead. It was obviously professional work- she knew an amateur couldn't get lucky enough to take down a vetted hero. Who had done it, and why?

Well, the why was rather obvious. Someone wanted a major player out of the way. There were others, of course, but none with as much press as the cosmic ray shooter. It was a major shake up, and it was going to leave a nice vacuum of power on the 'noble' side of things. Repercussions were incoming, and she'd just have to watch how the pieces fell.

Today had turned out quite interesting after all.
That works for me, let's put them together and see what happens. Jinny's going to figure out sooner or later that she may need protection from someone big every now and then.
Jinny saw another small town a long way ahead. She knew she'd have to go around it. The last thing she wanted was for some well meaning adult to take her freedom away. She was lucky enough that the strange guy who'd fixed her bag was helpful, but didn't care enough to stop her. She parked herself beneath the sturdiest tree she could find, set her pack on the ground and settled down. Sleep was going to be even harder to come by- she already hadn't been getting much rest since her dad died. Now she'd have to be alert, so maybe it was good to not need sleep.

The child dug into her pack, pulling out a can of pork and beans, and a multi-tool knife that she'd stolen from an unlucky townsperson. It took her a bit to find the right tool for getting the can open, but soon she was scooping out food with her bare hands and eating it.
But Feather's not my character...

Or are you saying you want me to use her? Anything I should keep in mind? (Besides the fact that she's probably pretty boring?)
Sorry... been busy today. I'm not sure where to place Kijani at the moment... *thinks hard* I'll come up with something, though.
Kijani smiled a bit at him. "Yeah, it was pretty good, wasn't it? I learned to sling insults from the best." Middle school with a bunch of preppy pre-teens could do that to a girl. "Never underestimate the power of psyching someone out. It didn't entirely work... and then when it did work he picked combination of things that'd freak me out." She shook her head ruefully. "You've got it in you too." She reached out and play-punched his shoulder. "I like a smart hero, myself. Superpower isn't the only power..." She got up slowly and brushed herself off. "I guess I'll go back now."
That sounds great, Dioxide. And goodnight all! See you in the daylight.
Kijani groaned low under her breath as someone else came out. But he seemed a little less self-assured than that suited asshole, so she didn't feel threatened. He wasn't forcing her hand. "...thank you, Connor." She finally said, taking her bag. "Maybe if I knew anyone. Really knew them." Her side still hurt and she rubbed at it. "But I don't, so.. yeah." Damn, today was looking to be a disaster. Now she was the school charity case.
(Kijani has never met a nurturing person who wasn't using that as an angle.)

Kijani glared after Anthony as he left. How dumb did this guy think she was? She wasn't going to spill vital personal information just because he had a nice suit and could fake sympathy. The world didn't work like that. She didn't even know his name! What a dumbass.
