Devika gathered herself and her things, and headed for the auditorium. She wondered why one student would be the focus of an entire assembly, but she wasn't going to argue.
Kijani headed toward the auditorium, but her mind was on bigger things. Two days from now, she'd probably have to kill someone. Maybe a lot of someones. She knew she would do it if it came to self-defense. When it was down to you and someone else, the correct answer was always you. She would leave the killing of Luthor to Anthony, though. It was only his right. But... her grandmother... somehow she couldn't yet accept that her grandmother had let her be hurt. Even despite the evidence, there was still a part of her that held out the hope that somehow, Waller didn't know. Or even if she had known, she couldn't rescue little Kijani without others being suspicious. There had to be some explanation.
>< I'm still alive, I just... *shakes head* I haven't given up hope.
Jinny stared at Neisha in stunned silence, before she looked around, then lowered her voice. "I met my brother... when I picked his pocket. He knew... and he chased me down. But instead of turning me in, he gave me money and let me go. Then we met when he came to the orphanage where I used to stick around. He took me in. At first I didn't know why- but then I broke into a room in the basement with all his fancy stolen stuff. He was real pissed for like five minutes, then he offered to train me." She grinned. "And that was like a year ago."
*just stares at Caits* Caits... they're like... identical. Nessie and Jinny. My profile for her is at the top of this page...
*nod* Was it good with music? I need that. My old ipod is dying and I can't be without my music.

Niesha, amused, and somewhat shocked, said, "I ran those streets too, when I was a kid. Before my adoptive father found me and took me in" She said, "How goes business there? I'm only where I am today because of those streets" She smiled at the kid, "I'm Niesha by the way, but some people find that a mouthful, so Nessie will do too"

Jinny's eyes widened in surprise. "You're adopted too?! No way! That's so awesome... I mean, not the part with the streets, but... Er... Nevermind." She grinned in a cute-kid sort of way. "I'm Jinayah. But everyone calls me Jinny, so you can too." Jinny wasn't going to say so just yet, but she was pretty sure she'd found her first mentor. "Was your Daddy a thief too? 'Cause my brother found me and made me a better one."
Huh... I guess there's not much I can tell from a picture.
"Oh, he's around. He got the invite, but he says he doesn't work with people he doesn't know. Too many variables." She settled down on the ground. "He operates outta Europe mostly. Doesn't like to name drop. And me... I ran the streets from 27th to 49th avenue." She grinned sheepishly. It wasn't anything like what these guys could pull off, but it was still hers, and she was proud of that. "One day I'll be super famous, though!"
I don't know what either of those are. What are they?
Jinny grinned and picked up the lock picks. "My brother gave me a set of these. But they're kinda old... I guess I get the good ones when I'm better." She ran her fingers along them, grinning a bit. "I'm working on all kinds of locks. It's sort of nice, learning how to pick each one. Learning the differences, and then that feeling when it pops open..." She let out a giggle of devious glee. "What I really like, though, is taking apart things and fixing them. My brother's boyfriend found me in his tech-cave - he calls it that - and he got really pissed because I started dismantling this really old computer tower he had in there. But then he stopped being pissed when I put it back together and it turned on... he said it'd been shit for years but he kept it for... umm..." Her nose wrinkled as she tried to remember the phrase. "Sen... tim.. ental.. value. Whatever that is."
