I forget where you're from. Do you mean what Americans like me call football, or what the rest of the world considers football?

I did mean American football. (I'm from Florida.) John doesn't have the build for the other football, he's too bulky.
Devika sat next to him, tucking her arms behind her head. "That sounds good. Maybe you can teach me how to lift weights properly." She gazed out over the mostly empty gym. "Maybe I can... become something useful."
Uh.. we've covered most of the usual crappy gym things like dodgeball.

We could do a football game, but I think John would dominate the hell out of it.

*thinks*

I got nothin'.

John wraps one arm around her and gives a quick squeeze and says, "Good job! Maybe one day you'll be able to beat me in a weight lifting contest." He walks slightly in front of her, and opens the door to the gym while saying, "It's been a while since I've seen you in the fitness center. I guess we've just been going at different times."

Devika laughed. "But if I get too muscly, I'll look like a dude. I don't want to look like a dude." She nodded her thanks as he opened the door for her. "Yeah, I guess we're just on different schedules. If you want to go at the same time, I wouldn't mind the encouragement at all."
Devika narrowed her eyes at the man in the suit as he continued to ask her questions. The smile was still fixed on her face, but it was icy, and there was anger brewing in the pit of her belly. "What I know about him is none of your business. If you want to know about someone, the kindest thing to do is to ask them yourself." She turned her back on him, and strode up to Connor, keeping her voice low and subtle. "Watch yourself." She didn't pause while walking by, and from behind there would be no indication that she'd even spoken to him at all. Settling at her table, she pulled a book from her purse and pretended to read. In truth, she was calming herself, and keeping an eye on the suspicious cop. This was their place, the witches and wizards and weirdos, and she damn well wasn't going to let the vanilla mortals take it away from them without a fight.
Name - Jin Ifriti
Alias - Orbit
Age - 16
Sponsor - Batman
Personality - intelligent, snarky, driven
Powers/Tools/Skills- Telekinetic strength enhancing, telekinetic almost-flight, mechanical and math brilliance, martial arts, 6 silver orbs with hidden blades
Weaknesses - big opponents, high metabolism, snow/winter, fighting in open spaces
Appearance -
BRIEF Bio - Jin lost her parents at a young age, and was on the streets not long after. Years of struggling to survive turned an innocent child to a clever, capable pickpocket. She grew more and more confident, until one day she decided to enter the more upper-class part of Gotham. She picked the wrong mark- Bruce Wayne. While she managed to sneak his wallet, she didn't get much farther than that. Wayne was no fool, and he caught up to her long enough to get his wallet back. The young thief vanished- only to be visited hours later by Batman himself. He offered her something no one else had: hope.

Notes -
*Besides Batman's fondness for scooping up orphans, Batman saw something in Jin- potential. He knew that if she was left on the streets, she'd probably become a very adept, very dangerous criminal within the next 5-10 years. So he decided to turn the path of her destiny, and use her untapped potential for something good.

*Jin's weakness to open spaces is linked to the way she uses her telekinesis to fly. She can't fly for real- what she is actually doing is using her powers to basically fling herself from one point to another, relying on the momentum from each sucessful push to keep her airborne. With nothing to push herself off of, she can't go too high or fast, and has to rely on hovering over the ground.
Devika nodded. "We may as well." She turned in that direction and started walking. "I did a half hour on the treadmill this morning. It's getting easier. Soon I'll have muscles!" She grinned wide, showing off her dimples.

I'm getting off the ipad now to work on the opening OOC and IC posts in the titanpad if anybody wants to move any convos there. JLU did an incredible job introducing more characters in the DCU stable. If DC ever gets a wider scoped Lego game that isn't all about Batman I could see it being loosely based on JLU. Lego Marvel had over 150 characters. I wouldn't be upset at DC if it's parent company WB didn't make the Lego Marvel game....~KL~

Can you relink to the titanpad? I'll join you.

With an eyebrow cocked, John watches Nacelle walk a few feet away and sit down. He whispers jokingly to Devika, "Good job, you scared her off."

"Me? You're the scary one." She did smile a bit, as another person she didn't recognize started to talk to the girl in a language they both understood. "Heh. I think she'll be okay."

you must really dislike DBZ as well right?

*giggles* DBZ is campy as all get out, though.
