Take your time.

Also, fyi, I'm going on vacation next Monday for about a week. Internet access will be limited, and I'm going to Disney so I should be kept busy.
Devika couldn't help but pay attention to the door ringing again. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw another plain looking man enter. In her mind, she was getting irritated- what was this, a preppy businessman convention? She turned her gaze back in the direction of her book, but couldn't help but pick up their conversation. 'The usual'? It sure didn't sound like they were ordering food... A burst of anger swelled in her chest, immediately followed by her reflexive need to get it under control. How dare Connor... didn't he realize he was risking not only his life, but the safety and sanctity of the only Accorded Neutral Grounds in this half of California? How dare he be so selfish! She had to put a stop to it- for everyone's sake. If the mortal got caught with drugs, he'd waste no time in giving up Connor to the police. That could bring down the heat on the entire coffeeshop, just because he went there... She pressed her lips tight together, as she made up her mind. Carefully, almost ritually, she checked each of her pieces of jewelry, making sure they were all ready to go.

And then that obvious cop practically dangled the bait in front of her, all but spelling out his intentions. That about did it for her. Those idiots were going to bring hell down on all these nice practitioners who hadn't done anything wrong! She wouldn't stand for it. Once the cop left, she too, drained her coffee, and exited the cafe. It wasn't hard to pick up the trail of the men. Emotions were running high, leaving three distinct auras for her to follow.
The girl blinked several times, looking at the Professor with an expression of pure confusion. "Wait, what? You're going to give me one of those?" She looked rather curious, before frowning abruptly as if remembering something. "Wait, no one does that. What's in it for you?" She recoiled very slightly. "No one gives something for nothing. No one. I mean, you're giving him a Pokemon because he's doing your research for you. It's a win-win. But I have nothing to give you at all, so you're gonna want something." The girl shook her head, and behind the clear distrust in her eyes, there was fear. "I- I'm not buying it. I'm not." Luna, who had been lying at her feet, stood and placed itself between the girl and the professor, silently guarding.
Kijani quieted as the ride back to Mr. Croil's home began. She could tell he wasn't on board with the whole reading thing, and she was sorry she'd said it. It was maybe implying that readers were better than people who didn't read. While she was a touch surprised that Feather couldn't read, Mr. Croil's explanation made perfect sense. If the citizens of Arbordale were too busy for that kind of thing, to simply sit and dream, then... well, that meant they were working hard. Who was she to say that they were missing out? Maybe she was missing something by not having something more concrete to do.

As they went along down the road, the cart bumping and rumbling, they would occasionally bump each other. She was getting more warm with each accidental touch. Part of her, a very unused part of her, was very aware of his solidity and strength beside her. Unfortunately she really had no idea what to do with that feeling. All she knew was that he probably thought her a silly, flighty city girl with all sorts of finery, but no real inner strength. She knew he was right- for all his outward... uniqueness, there was something deeply powerful within him, something that made her respond in a way she did not understand.

She was listening through her discomfort and heat, though, and caught something that was quite interesting. “Stories, they like stories?” She thought about that, quite curious. The subject was shifted quite suddenly, back to her, and she tried to deflect. “Ah... tell me, the stories the people enjoy, are they real-life stories that happened to the people telling them? Or are they just... any kind of story? Because if you enjoyed me just doing the poetry, perhaps they would enjoy a full story...” She smiled, briefly and uncertainly at him.

“As for how long I'll stay...” She hadn't yet considered that. She didn't want to lie and get called out for it later, but at the same time, she had to keep up the story. “Er... I was thinking about a month, if you'll put up with my presence that long. Although honestly, I'll stay as long as you and the other folks will have me.” She couldn't help but look away at that. Honestly, she didn't want to go home. Going back meant putting herself right back into danger. She could feel goosebumps running up her arms, despite all the heat she was feeling. “I... I truly hope we do become... tolerant of each other.” At this point, she was certain friendship would be too much to ask for.
There was the distinctive click-clack of a shotgun pump, before a shot rang out from Richard's direction. The man with the machete stumbled back, already starting to bleed from the many bullets that had pierced him. A second shot widened the hole in his chest, and he dropped to the ground, making a horrible, wet gurgling noise.

Jinny was frozen in the bed of the truck, her hands still firm on the pistol. They hurt, very bad actually, because she was squeezing the gun's handle so hard. But she couldn't move her hands. She'd seen the man she shot go down, covered in blood. She had done that. She'd killed him... A tiny whimper escaped her throat.
Yeah. Just losing track of things. I'm working through my RPs in order, and you're first, so... yeah, I'll drum something out.
Hi! I have a question before my opening post. Are all the young heroes in the same place right now? Because in my head, Jin's in Gotham... so should I relocate her to Star City now, or later?
Oh, very well. *gives the billboard back*
Beat me to it. *steals the billboard anyway*

Goodnight everyone.
The girl found herself smiling as Tobias interacted with the Pokemon. She'd never seen one like that before. The little green and brown one was adorable, and Tobias seemed to like him very much. It was nice to watch someone else with a Pokemon out in the open. She'd found Luna on the street herself, and they'd grown up together. Pokeballs cost money that she'd never had to spare, so Luna had spent plenty of time outside.

She had to admit, though, the adorable little yellow fox looked sweet too, with its brilliant red eyes. Though, she wouldn't want any other partner but her dear Luna. Even if a fire Pokemon would be endlessly useful during the winter. "Ah..." The sound escaped her mouth before she could avoid it. "So what happens to the other two?"
