The girl watched Tobias go, and she smiled faintly. Then she turned back to the Professor. "I think... I think I'll go, too." She looked nervous as she got up, and the Liepard who had been contently dozing beneath her chair rose as well. "I don't know what I'll do. But now I've got a chance to do something else. I hope I don't mess it up." Blaze yawned and trotted to the girl's side. She picked up her new Pokemon and gently stroked his ears. "...thank you again, sir. I... I won't waste this." She headed out the door before she could start crying, flanked by her Liepard. The city was before her, and for some reason she was noticing how dirty it was, beneath the metallic shine of the buildings, and the neon lights from billboards and shops.

"...maybe he's right. Maybe we... should try something else?" She looked down at Luna, who yowled in return. "I take that as a yes." Luckily, she knew just where she was going. She'd seen the bright gate with the large 5 over it for years, but never had gone near enough to leave. Today, that would change. She headed toward the gate with a full belly, a growing hope, and a smile on her face.

Flood quickly threw his gun in the air and pulled out his Katana. He began blocking and redirecting her strikes. There were a few close calls but otherwise no direct hits. He pushed away from her on her final strike then grabbed his gun out of the air and holstered it. Flood smiled and motioned the universal bring it on sign with his free hand before rushing her with a series of random slashes and stabs that seemingly had no pattern. If observed closely enough though it would be noticed that every 4th attack was a diagonal slash.

Kijani fell into dodging, her body acting on sheer reflex. Flood wasn't the only one who could improvise. She twisted and darted and dodged, and eventually found the rhythm in the dance. One she could exploit. She waited for her opening to come around again, before she leapt the diagonal strike in a burst of agility, dropping inside Flood's guard and slamming the book she was holding upward into his face. The book was already weighty, but added to Kijani's will it carried the force of a half ton. She made sure to angle the strike in such a way that if it connected, it would shove the cartilage of Flood's nose upward into his brain. This was supposed to be a true fight, and she wasn't going to play nice.
Devika is free for attack, but she's on Katherin's team, so...
Kijani saw Flood coming with an obvious attack, and pulled up a shield of paper to deflect the bullets. To her dismay, the shots impacted, and quickly began burning straight through. "Crap. New plan." She hunched lower, tucking in her tall frame and using her natural agility to bring herself in closer to Flood. Her blade slid easily from it's scabbard and she swept it into a swift series of stabbing strikes. If she hit him, that would be something- but honestly she just wanted him to lose that gun.

In the bedroom?Just kidding, unless true.

*laughs* I don't think either of them have quite figured that out yet.

I know my Jin is dense as hell when it comes to romance and attraction.

Though now I have this mental image of the two of them sharing a small sleeping space in an entirely platonic cuddly way.
I honestly couldn't tell, considering no one's actually fighting Jack but John... Kijani never laid a hand on him. *chuckles* You take stuff way too seriously.
[ b]Christian Name: [/b] Kassandra
[ b]True Name: (the reflection of your blessing)[/b] Mirage
[ b]From:[/b] Córdova, Spain
[ b]Powers: [/b] Illusions of all kinds. Has a birthmark shaped like an eyeball on the back of her neck, and all of her hair is snowy white.
[ b]Pros:[/b] Kassandra can create illusions of all kinds, but she's most powerful with those involving sight and sound. Touch is second-most powerful, while taste and smell are still quite limited. She is an excellent swimmer, and can read and write. People, especially younger people, tend to trust her more easily. (As long as they don't see her hair.)
[ b]Cons:[/b] Kassandra is heavyset and not very physically capable yet. She has to keep her hair hidden or dyed at all times, as she will stick out quite easily in a crowd. Also, she has the tendency to be naive and trusting. She tends to see things in a sort of 'black/white' way, not really realizing that most people and situations come in shades of gray.
[ b]Virtue:[/b] Warm hearted, intelligent
[ b]Vice:[/b] Overly trusting, naive
[ b]Favored weapon:[/b] Heavy Staff
[ b]Favored profession/Labor:[/b] Cook, scribe
[ b]Brief bio: (1 paragraph)[/b] Kassandra was born to a quite normal father, and a mother who was said to speak with spirits. The small family was always traveling, going from city to town working the mother's trade. Kassandra's mother would teach her growing child to harness her fledgling powers as they grew. One day they were attacked by religious purists who denounced her mother as a witch, managing to land a fatal blow on her before the family could escape. Kassandra's grieving father dropped her off at the home of his sister and her family, and never returned for her. Kassandra grew up shamed by her aunt for being a 'witch-child' and was usually kept isolated indoors lest anyone see her unusual looks. Her only solace was in her older cousin Leo, who brought her books, and taught her to read and write, and was her dear (and only) friend. When they got older, he married and moved away, leaving Kassandra at the mercy of her aunt. She took her escape in the midst of the night by making herself invisible, and sneaking out of town.

What do you think so far?
I'll have Jin keep him safe.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic.

You want Kijani to turn around and brain Jack with her book?

I can still edit my post...
*cracks up* I think I'm going to like you, Nobbs.

Even though I am more of a Vimes man, myself.

Him, and Vetinari...

I've always wondered if Pratchett ever plans to let the Patrician have his own novel... though I don't know what it would be about..
