*cheery giggle* I love getting to play Kijani in full-on Alpha Bitch mode.
Kijani stalled in her response as some strange voice cast over the intercom. No true captain would ever do something so rash. To Marcus, she responded while barely turning her head. "I am not leading. You are following." She gently adjusted one of her loose dreadlocks, twisting it around her fingertip. "I would continue my path to the bridge even if you weren't behind me. Perhaps you are simply subconsciously able to recognize the qualities of someone who is used to control." Now she did turn, her golden gaze casting an interested look backward at him. "Or perhaps you've been incarcerated so long that you've forgotten what a woman looks like, and are taking the time to refresh your memory." A low laugh bubbled from her lips. "Either way, you'll be behind me."

Connor gave her a smile, "You are anything but weak, with or without your powers" He said, shrugging as she asked how he stayed calm. "Most things can be solved by thinking things through" He said, "And calmness helps there. But just because I appear calm, it doesn't mean I am. It just means I'm a better acted then most people" He said thoughtfully, "I could easily hate Batman, but then I think...without that fight, without the consequences because of it, would we be here, right now, together? So I can't hate that" He stopped talking when Kijani's phone rang.

Kijani raised her eyebrows, as Connor brought up a very good point. If things hadn't happened the way they did, maybe she and Connor never would have been together at all... It gave her pause to think, and she went for her phone automatically. "Sorry." She flashed a quick smile at Connor and kissed the corner of his mouth before stepping off to look at the number.

"I'm in the middle of something, so keep it brief."
The girl inhaled the clean, cold air of the gate, looking around hesitantly. It was so... well kept here, so orderly that she had trouble accepting it as part of the city. There were signs on the wall, ones that were impossible for her to read. She saw some woman in a uniform, and stepped over. "Hey. Where does this go?"

The woman picked her head up, and her eyes took in the girl's appearance, seeing the dirt, the tattered clothes, the tired eyes. This wasn't the first time the girl had been looked at like she was less than a bug Pokemon. It was getting old. "It goes to Route 5 and elsewhere." The woman said in a curt tone. Her eyes were cold. "I must remind you, miss/, that we have the Kalos regional police on watch 24-7 for potential thieves."

The girl felt her fists curling, and she fought back a wave of emotion. A thousand things were coming to mind, and she tried to beat them back before she said something nasty. "I'm not a thief." Anymore.

"All the same, soliciting tourists for money is not allowed, and-"

The girl felt her patience snap. "Listen up, you bitch! All I want to do is get out of this city, and you're going to tell me where I'm going next!"
Done! Sorry for the delay.
knight125 said John notices Devika and walks up to her with a smile while asking, "What's the plan for today?"

Devika lifted her head, inhaling slow to try and hide her sadness. "Uh... I don't know. You're the workout king, you tell me." She attempted a smile, which she knew couldn't fool a brick wall.

Connor caught her around the waist, and pulled her to him gently, "Its going to be okay" He said softly, "You'll get them back soon" but he knew they weren't words she wanted to hear, even as he said them. Not knowing what else to say, he wrapped his arms around her and held her close. "I know it sucks" he said softly, "It hasn't been taken from you, its inside still, just waiting to be unlocked" That was an interesting thought, but he didn't know if it was reassuring. He wanted to say the right thing, wanted to be able to make it all right.

Kijani settled against him, leaning her forehead against his shoulder. "It hurts, Connor. It makes me feel weak. And then, I get them back- even if it was just a simulation. For a while, everything is okay, I'm me again, and now I'm back to being weak." She spit the word out a second time, as if it left a foul taste in her mouth. "I can't stand it." Even if it did let her be held by Connor in the middle of a hallway, Kijani did not like feeling anything less than on the top of the heap. "...How do you stay calm when things go wrong?"
[ b]Christian Name: [/b] Kassandra
[ b]True Name: (the reflection of your blessing)[/b] Mirage
[ b]From:[/b] Córdova, Spain
[ b]Powers: [/b] Illusions of all kinds. Has a birthmark shaped like an eyeball in the middle of her forehead, and all of her hair is snowy white.
[ b]Pros:[/b] Kassandra can create illusions of all kinds, but she's most powerful with those involving sight and sound. Touch is second-most powerful, while taste and smell are still quite limited. She is an excellent swimmer, and can read and write. People, especially younger people, tend to trust her more easily. (As long as they don't see her hair.)
[ b]Cons:[/b] Kassandra is heavyset and not very physically capable yet. She has to keep her hair hidden or dyed at all times, as she will stick out quite easily in a crowd. Also, she has the tendency to be naive and trusting. She tends to see things in a sort of 'black/white' way, not really realizing that most people and situations come in shades of gray.
[ b]Virtue:[/b] Compassion, Humility
[ b]Vice:[/b]Dishonesty, Envy
[ b]Favored weapon:[/b] Heavy Staff
[ b]Favored profession/Labor:[/b] Cook, scribe
[ b]Brief bio: (1 paragraph)[/b] Kassandra was born to a quite normal father, and a mother who was said to speak with spirits. The small family was always traveling, going from city to town working the mother's trade. Kassandra's mother would teach her growing child to harness her fledgling powers as they grew. One day they were attacked by religious purists who denounced her mother as a witch, managing to land a fatal blow on her before the family could escape. Kassandra's grieving father dropped her off at the home of his sister and her family, and never returned for her. Kassandra grew up shamed by her aunt for being a 'witch-child' and was usually kept isolated indoors lest anyone see her unusual looks. Her only solace was in her older cousin Leo, who brought her books, and taught her to read and write, and was her dear (and only) friend. When they got older, he married and moved away, leaving Kassandra at the mercy of her aunt. She took her escape in the midst of the night by making herself invisible, and sneaking out of town. She had several close calls during her travels, and she called upon her powers instinctively. After making it to Basque and becoming sheltered under Xavier's care, she is grateful to learn more about the world around her, both obvious and unseen.
[ b]Appearance:[/b] (Do you know how hard it is to find a mage's dress for a woman that doesn't make her look like a prostitute? Yikes.)
Uh... someone beat you to it, already.
Devika managed to sit through her next class without crying during it. She remembered halfway to her dorm that she had to head to the gym to meet John, and so changed directions and trudged off that way. Entering the gym, she discarded her bag in the corner and shuffled to the treadmill. There she stood, staring down blankly at the buttons that would turn it on.
I posted for when you come back.

Also, for Knight-- Devika's probably still in the class, trying not to cry.
