Kijani surveyed her fellow prisoners, frowning mildly when yet another showed up. She was distracted by the new female with the metal pole, when the child named Warden did something spectacular. Her clothes themselves became gilded with metal, which seemed to take over the door. Whatever was keeping it locked didn't last long, and the way was now open before them. Kijani looked to the little girl with a lot more curiosity, now, and much more calculation. The child had just become incredibly useful.

"Warden!" She smiled sweetly, and followed the girl through the open door, making sure her vines were still set and ready. The many seeds threaded into her hair and clothes thrummed with hidden energy. When she'd been searched before transport, the guards had been so busy looking for traditional weaponry that they hadn't noticed the unique inner lining of her suit. Then again, what could one expect from short-sighted plebians such as those security officers? Honestly, they wouldn't know a cravat from a ascot if it was shoved down their throat. "You are full of surprises, Warden! I am impressed!" She tried to keep up the guise of a proud adult, but she was much less sure of how effective it would be. She really hadn't had much contact with proud adults, or children.

Speaking of Jesus, I think it might have been in his book. It may have been the joke he told the crowd before starting his Sermon on the Mount. Gotta warm 'em up somehow.

*laughs so hard that she can't stop coughing*

Anthony, now home and enjoying a glass of Henri Jayer Richebourg Grand Cru, an exquisite French wine, lets the phone ring for a few seconds after reading the caller ID. He thinks. Once he decides that Kijani has waited long enough, Anthony answers the phone and responds calmly, "I returned that which was stolen from you."

John laughs, "Most of the people here would be failing if there were grades. A lot of the students don't start doing everything their teachers said until they're out in the field and have been beaten up several times. Besides, you can hold your own in a fight. Remember when you fought that blue haired chick? She couldn't do anything to you. Maybe you could learn some Judo or Aikido?"

Kijani was pulling on her shoes, and checking her hair in the mirror. "Send a car for me. I need to discuss tomorrow's events with you. In person." Despite the energy in her voice, she sounded very serious. "There needs to be no room for doubt in this, and I have questions."
Devika blinked at Flood, backing a few steps away. It was as if her mind itself was recoiling from his presence. She shook it off, before speaking to John. "Wait, you..." She thought back to the fight, at how Kyra had tried to fight her down. But she couldn't, because despite all of Kyra's power, Devika had at least 75 pounds on her and literally couldn't be moved. "You... may have a point. But... I don't know anything about martial arts. And I'm way out of shape." She looked down, poking at her midsection, which was not as soft as it used to be, but was still pretty squishy. "You really think I have... potential?"

I'm actually leaning more towards him suggesting that she learn either wrestling or some other grappling-based fighting style. Her powers work through contact right? If she gets a good hold on somebody, she can incapacitate them with her powers.

I had her learning krav maga, but anything that's suitable for a heavyset person would work.
Devika gazed at John for a moment, her brown eyes full of doubt. "It's not an underestimation if I have no skill. I mean, sure, my empathy is one thing, but I'm useless in a fight." She dropped her head again, pushing back her thick curls. "...did I tell you I graduated top of my class?" A weak smile made her lips wobble. "I mean, if this school had grades, I'd probably be failing."

Kijani sat on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Anthony's words were rolling through her head. She wanted to relax and prep for the mission tomorrow, but she couldn't. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, and sat up, looking toward her stuffed bookcase.

A book dropped off of it at her glance.

Kijani blinked, then rose up. She extended the tiniest thread of her will, and the book flopped over like a live fish. Her eyes went wide, and she made a sweeping gesture with her hand. The books responded, spilling from the bookcase in a cacophonous wave. "...." Her jaw dropped, and she rushed to get her cell phone. She redialed Anthony's number, and as soon as she heard it stop ringing, she spoke with barely contained emotion. Which emotion, though, was unknown.

"What. Did. You. DO?"
O.o jesus h christ, knight. Good luck with that.

Also, John's a fighter, right? Would he be able to see that Devika's gift is in a solid defense? I've been waiting for her to recognize that Kyra couldn't really hurt her physically during their fight, but I don't think she actually has the knowledge to understand her own capabilities. Is it ok if John nudges her in the right direction?
Name: Kassandra Keigwan
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Title: Lady Kaia
Class: Mage of Mirage
Personality: Kassy is gentle hearted and sweet. While she seems to have a quiet confidence on the outside, she suffers from very low self worth. She tends to see things in a very black and white manner, and has difficulty accepting acts that she deplores as 'wrong' or 'evil'. However, she's more prone to seeing the gray areas in people, rather than actions.
History: Kassy's mother was a famed occultist said to speak with the spirits of the dead. She grew up traveling with her parents from place to place while her mother worked. Unfortunately, her mother fell ill and died when Kassy was about eight. Her distraught father dropped her off at her aunt's home, and never returned.

Kassy's aunt despised her mother, believing her a fraud. This hatred carried over to her niece, and Kassy was treated very poorly during her childhood and adolescence. Her uncle ignored his niece's treatment, unwilling to stand up to his wife. Kassy's only solace was her cousin Leonce, who treated her like the sister he'd always wanted. They grew up sheltering each other, until Leonce escaped to college. Kassy suffered alone a while longer before escaping to school herself, promising to never look back.

So wait, you're saying this app is obsolete, then?

Hey Dizzy, Anthony's call was my way of saying that Kijani now has use of her powers. Anthony had one of the teachers convince Professor X to remove Kijani's mental restrictions. I was hoping Anthony could convince her that the restrictions were fake so that if she ever got them put on her again, she's be confused when she couldn't use her powers.

I don't think Kijani's going to fall for that, considering she knows that her powers go haywire when her life is threatened. Considering her whole flashback scenario between her and Anthony, the fact that she didn't stab him accidentally with his own research papers lets her know that the block is real.

She'll know he's done something...
YAAAAAAAY!!!

*hugs super tight*
Kijani held Connor's hand as they walked, quiet as she leaned close to him. They reached her dorm in a while, and she leaned on her door. Leaning up on her toes slightly, she pulled him down for a soft kiss. She pulled away, smiling and then brushing the tip of his nose with another kiss. "Have a good day, okay?" Her hand rested gently on his cheek, and then she slipped inside, settling on her bed.
