I think it's because I put a timestamp on it. Just copy and paste it into your browser, folks... It's a link to a martial art called sambo, which is like a blend of judo and other forms of wrestling. I think it'd suit Devika, plus would give her an edge over plain judo.
The sound of a body impacting another pulled Kijani from her reading. She watched, with more annoyance than curiosity, as a flash of light send Flood flying from his seat. The light consolidated into that blonde girl from before. Kijani felt an unbidden shiver run through her body. Something in her voice, in her stance, was very... off. Despite enjoying a good taunt as much as the next mouthy smartass, there was just something different, in the pitch of the blonde's voice. The briefest thought passed her mind that perhaps Anthony should watch his back... which was immediately followed by the odd, comforting realization that Anthony was indeed watching his back, front, and every other angle besides that. She returned to her book, but not after scooting closer to her jian.
I posted! Kijani's in the gym, and Devika's outside.

Also, I think this is the sport for Devika.

Kijani got up earlier than usual, and did some practicing with her powers. She pushed all her furniture to the walls, and went through a jian sequence, weaving sheets of paper that moved from sharp to lighter than air, and everything in between as she pierced the air with her blade. Once she was satisfied that she was combining the two, she took a shower and readied herself for the day. After a quick, protein heavy breakfast, she headed for the gym to wait for the first class. She nodded politely at Anthony, cast a mildly curious look at the tall blonde he was conversating with, and settled her sword on the bleacher beside her, as she pulled a book from her bag and started to read. Sun Tzu's Art of War had long been one of her favorite books, and she owned several copies. One of them was even in Chinese, now that she was getting a handle on the language. The copy she was reading was miniature, and could easily fit in her jacket pocket. Her eyes stalled on one of her favorite lines.

All warfare is based on deception.

Devika got up and meditated for a half hour before she got dressed. Long sleeves and gloves were part of the wardrobe for today- even though her meditation she could feel her powers being more sensitive than usual. Either her period was coming, or she was getting stronger. It wouldn't be good if she accidentally triggered someone by brushing their skin. Once she was ready, she headed to breakfast. She ate alone, outside, still musing over what John had suggested for her last night. Could she really do some kind of martial art? All the martial arts she'd ever heard of required a lot of speed and fast movement, to her eyes. Even if she did lose weight and get in shape, she'd wasn't going to be doing any high jump kicks. With a faint sigh, she yanked out her phone and ran an interesting info search: martial arts for fat people.
Hey! Thanks for consolidating Mirage's bio! I appreciate that... It's not entirely done, because I"m not sure how she'd get pegged a hero, or who would bring her into the fold.

Wow, I guess I'm a freak. I drink nearly 2 gallons a day. I love water.

You're probably more active than most people. Just an assumption due to the whole military career thing. Your body likely uses up the water much faster, making it okay for you to drink that much. If I tried that, I'd probably get sick.
Probably not enough... Water just makes me feel really heavy.

THanks for fixing the youtube link for me, Dioxide.

Not sure what to do with my characters at the moment- also I have a massive headache.
Kijani summoned a bit of power, and the seed in her hand reacted. Slowly, she opened her palm, as the seed's fragile roots anchored themselves around a finger. The seed grew into a beautiful flower. It was yellow and cone shaped, and dangled with it's pretty yellow petals toward the floor. "This is what is called angel's trumpet. It is very pretty, and very dangerous." There was a touch of wickedness in her smile. "Just like Auntie. Now, I want you to hold onto this, but don't touch it with your skin. If any bad person tries to hurt you, and they don't go away when you hit them, you make them eat the flower."
