Achi breathed out slow, as she watched another dead-eyed human wander by her hiding spot. It had been two days since she had escaped from her metal prison, two days since she'd fled the strange ship with the great purple god-being on it. All around her, lights danced on buildings, and vehicles whizzed by. It was lively, busy, and yet, utterly dead, because she could find no minds.

There were people, certainly, but there was something utterly wrong with them. She had tried to speak to one, and to cast her illusion over them to make herself match a human form. It was like trying to cast magic over a piece of coral. The body moved, breathed, lived, but something inside was just not there. She had fled, hastily, and forgot trying to speak with the populace after that.

Something about this world she'd landed on was all wrong, and she felt the need to keep hidden. Luckily, she had found discarded clothes and cloth scraps, which she used to cover her vivid hair, and mask her Wati-made skirts from view. Her clothes were bright, by human standards. Sea grape green tunic, and long skirt in algae brown. Her shoes were thin and made of wood, and they were wearing rapidly as she walked and walked.

She hadn't slept in two days. Out of the grace of Agwe, she'd found a fountain full of spraying water in front of a large tower-like dwelling. It was clean enough for her to drink, and she did consume all that she could. But she knew it wasn't safe enough to rest there, as much as her legs burned for relief.

As the evening began to darken the sky, she took refuge in what seemed to be some kind of natural hunting grounds. Or at least, that was what she thought it was. It was in the midst of the city, but there was green, and trees, and a beautiful lake. She had yet to see any creatures, though- perhaps the lake had healthy fish? Her empty belly groaned at the thought, and she rubbed it with a palm.

A noise coming near her startled her, and without forethought she pulled a veil of invisibility around herself. But the noise revealed itself to be some kind of machine, one that spoke to her of joining some kind of... league. She frowned slightly, confused, and then she started to follow the map the device gave her.
Gonna attempt a post here...
*lies on her side*
Kijani sat through Romanova's class, taking notes and just trying to keep focus. Waiting for tonight's mission was getting almost unbearable. She got to lunch and snagged a plate, sitting with her food and bouncing her legs in a rare show of nervous energy.
Devika had buried her frustration by the time she walked through the door to Cap. America's class. She stayed after, to try and get a few lessons on technique, and even tried to throw a few punches. Once she was done with that, she headed to lunch. For some reason, she was barely able to tolerate being in the room, so she grabbed her lunch and left quickly. With a heavy sigh, she settled down in the grass to pick at the meal she'd randomly selected.
Hullo! My friend Master Crim invited me.

I could play the Magical Endurance teacher if need be. Would I possibly be allowed a student as well?
*nod* I understand there was no intent to insult. But people say hurtful or demeaning things to others all the time, and most of the time they never know unless someone actually calls them on it.
*soft laugh* Oh, irony.

Devika's adopted.

She has no clue who her birth parents are.

I think the assumption that her parents were superheroes pissed her off. As if Devika herself wasn't important.

I hope they get a chance to talk again, and hopefully neither of them piss each other off.
Not feeling great today. Will attempt a post in one RP or the other. Sorry all.

Phoebe shrugged, "I chop and change between Capt. America's class, and Dr Connors. If I go to one now, I go to the other later" She said, wondering what was bothering the girl. It was almost an effort for Phoebe to be friendly, because she was worrying if her presence was causing the Devika to be tense. "There seems to be a lot of people who are new, so I wouldn't worry too much about catching up"Phoebe fell silent, wondering what else she could say. "What powers do you have? I'm usually pretty good at guessing peoples parents, but you don't remind me of any of the heroes or villains I've read about" Then she wondered if this was being to invasive, and said, "Sorry, you don't have to answer"

Devika nodded, just trying to keep up as Phoebe talked a mile a minute. Her eyes narrowed, though, as Phoebe mentioned parents. Something about the way she said it got under her skin. Guessing people's parents? Did she expect everyone in the school to just have some automatically recognizable bloodline? She'd had enough of dealing with kids born to privilege when dealing with her parents' many wealthy clients. That sort of person didn't seem to think that their children were anything but reflections of themselves. Phoebe obviously came from the same ilk. "My parents are Anne and Reginald Jones, the best law team in south Florida. You probably wouldn't have guessed that, because I'm not my parents. I guess your mother and father are some high profile heroes, right?" She let out a breath of a laugh. "Not everyone is like you, sweetheart." She turned her back and started to walk. If she didn't leave, she'd be late for class.

Phoebe nodded, which was probably why she didn't recognize the girl. After all, she hadn't been back that long. "What class are you going to next?" She asked, trying to be helpful and friendly.

"Oh. Er... Captain America's class." She smiled tensely. "I've got a lot of catching up to do." It was almost an effort to be polite. Part of her want to draw from this girl's happiness, but she knew that could be disastrous on both ends. "What about you?"
