@Pikmin Eye They both sound super cool! Love the appearances for them, they remind me of the games in a way :D
Mara Scelus
Kira’s eyes widened somehow, seemingly taking up his entire face.

“Kira…?” Mara asked, practically standing up on her toes. She desperately hoped that she hadn’t given anything poisonous to her espurr—that would be a rather poor omen for her time as a trainer, if she killed her first pokemon by accident.

"Espurr! Espurr!”Kira shouted, and Mara beamed, watching as her espurr looked a little more vibrant. The pain from the Oddish’s attack disappeared, as if nothing had ever happened, and her pokemon was still fresh. Kira slashed with her claws, hitting the Oddish and sending it rolling backwards.

It didn’t move.

“Yes! You did it!” Mara gushed, brimming with happiness. “All right, Kira! Let’s deal with that mareep now!”

Throwing her attention to remaining pokemon left in the battle, watching as the electric sheep started to become ensnared in the string shot. It started to roll, charging at purrloin, and quickly, the two pokemon became an unintelligible mess of claws and string shot.

“Err…. Kira, stay out of their way!” Mara ordered, throwing a desperate glance over at Rowan and Yasha. She had no idea what to do in this situation, or how to even help. She knew she should probably check on Jane—the trainer had collapsed along with her oddish—but she didn’t feel particularly inclined to do so.

Instead, she watched with baited breath, hoping that the purrloin and the mareep would be able to separate from each other. She didn’t want to tell Kira to do anything that would hurt the purrloin—and she could hardly tell the two pokemon apart!

“Rowan, let me know if you… need anything…” Mara stated awkwardly, continuing to watch the frenzy. “I’m sure purrloin will be fine….”

Man, not to be that guy, but does no one acknowledge that there are factions doing things IC? It's cool because most of them don't interact with the player, but I expected some kind of reaction from the OOC...

I've honestly been getting confused with all the various factions, they're a bit hard for me to keep track of since there are so many of them doing so many different things, you know?

Mara watched with wide eyes, squeezing her hands tight with fear, as Kira was enveloped by the web. Kira struggled a bit, determinedly muttering“es-purr, es-purr!” as he fought against the oddish. A near demonic look overcame the pokemon as Kira snatched the berry, the blue boon seemingly small when compared to the task.

"Kira! Get out of there!” Mara started to scream, only to watch, entirely stunned, as Yanma slammed into the oddish. The petals that had started to trap the espurr quickly went away, and even better, Mara watched as the oddish was thrown backwards. Without the ground to tether it, perhaps they’d have a shot!

Recalling Rowan’s advice on the sweet scent and its aim being to lure pokemon in, Mara glanced at the oran berry. She didn’t know much about what it would do, but clearly, it had to have some sort of tactical effect — after all, the advanced trainer using the advanced moves had it!

“Kira! Eat the berry and use scratch on the oddish!” Mara directed, standing a bit up on her tippy toes as she watched with baited breath.

Hopefully, the berry would have some sort of power up along with it — but at any rate, it was clearly doing something special for the oddish. Maybe it’ll make him really strong~! Mara hoped, closing her hand into a fist with determination.

With Yasha and Rowan’s help, they’d be able to win. She just knew it. A quick glance to the rest of the fight confirmed that — already, the caterpie had been defeated! She looked around, hoping to spot Rowan’s pokemon. Instead, she saw the cat pokemon dashing into the fray, ready to help beat up the poor oddish.

Mara wasn’t sure whether or not to pity the oddish. Of course, that was before she remembered that the mareep was still there—and it could certainly help the oddish at any moment! Still, they had three pokemon left, while their opponents only had two remaining. The odds were in their favor -- for now.

Cecily watched, her hands tingling, as Riley light up at her acceptance of the offer. For a moment, she couldn't help but wonder how many of Riley's fans would have killed to have this chance--and here she was, taking it. Breathing steadily to soothe her nerves, Cecily grinned in turn.

"Don't worry its just two friend going out for dinner nothing what you are thinking of. I was thinking of trying that sushi place maybe? I mean its totally up to you with where ever you'd like to go.

A bit of sadness trickled throughout her, though she couldn't be sure as to why. However, she didn't have time to investigate the complexities of her emotions--she was too busy cringing in disgust at one key word. Sushi. She hated seafood, but she didn't want to cause anything with her roommate.

Especially not on the anniversary of that girl's suicide, Cecily thought to herself, already expecting to receive a call from the station that she would be needed to attend to the death of one of her neighbors that night. Or maybe it'll be me--or no one at all...

Still, she didn't think she'd be able to pretend to like sushi for anyone. It'd be better to be honest about it. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I really hate seafood..." Cecily chuckled nervously, pulling on her hair. "Do you like Thai food? We could try to get Thai or something... Or maybe just decide whatever sounds good tomorrow, that works too."

Riley finished her breakfast, tossing the garbage away. Cecily couldn't help but make a mental note of the various bits of evidence that could be gleaned from it -- oh, the joys of serology. She shook her head slightly, trying to focus on the prospect of the Block Party, rather than the nuisances of forensics.

"Hmm, was thinking maybe going out and get some snacks and drinks for the party as well since Lawson is using that smoker of his making food for us. Did you want to come with me, or hangout here for awhile?" Riley offered.

Cecily grinned slightly, looking at her roommate and seeing the immense excitement written all over her face. While parties weren't really her scene, she knew that it was about time that she got out and learned about her new neighbors. It'd be a good way to make friends -- and much better than being shut up in the apartment all night.

"Yeah! I'd love to go!" Cecily exclaimed. "I suppose you'd rather take your car than the death trap, huh?"

Cecily threw her things together into her bag, slinging it over her shoulder once more. Hurrying after Riley, she locked up the apartment, barely hesitating as she pondered whether or not to bring her pistol. No one was really ever safe in Justice. But she left it behind, scolding herself for being -- as always -- as pessimist.

"I can pay for the food and drinks, since we're using your car," Cecily offered. She climbed down the numerous apartment stairs, far more awake than when she had ascended them that morning. She noticed the little details, and when she and Riley emerged, she couldn't help but be taken a bit aback with everything happening outside. The smoker was going, the DJ setting up, music lightly playing, the sun softly shining, and numerous things of expensive vodka being set out on little tables.

Cecily made a mental note to not get vodka at the store with Riley. It seemed they had plenty. She couldn't help but notice that almost everyone seemed to be outside already, milling around and exchanging food. It was almost overwhelming, in a way, to see all of her neighbors in one spot.

It was also, in her opinion, a miracle that no bodies had dropped yet. This was Justice, after all.

"Save your money for something better like a new car instead of that rusted death trap you have."

Cecily snorted, raising an eyebrow at her roommate. She could just imagine the look of horror on Dean Winchester's face at hearing baby be insulted like that. She had purchased that beat up impala on purpose -- she didn't care for cars, but if she could consider her method of transportation to be a Supernatural reference, then it was worth it. Her roommate walked over to the table, and Cecily couldn't help but continuing to chuckle. Of course, she shut up rather quickly at Riley's next comment.

"Though you could maybe pay me back by going out to dinner sometime?" Riley asked, winking at her.

Cecily's face turned a dark shade of red, and trying to seem natural, she turned around to peer at one of the magnets on the fridge. She had never been the type to go on dates -- or more specifically, to date anyone. It didn't make sense to her. She didn't understand the appeal of slobbering over another person, no matter how many songs, sonnets, books, movies, and stories were written about it. The concept escaped her.

What would Iron Man do? Cecily asked herself, summoning up her courage and her nerves.

"Sure. How does tomorrow sound?" Cecily asked nonchalantly, quickly gulping down half a glass of water. She tried to smile and appear cool, perhaps even sexy, but instead, a bit of the water went down into her lungs, and she pitched forward, coughing her head off.

"I mean... if you want to," Cecily added, trying to regain her "cool"-ness.

After her roommate carefully put to bed Cecily's suggestion of her playing at the block party, Cecily glanced out the windows, feeling slightly like an impatient child. Time ticked by far too slowly, with the block party seemingly being hours away for an eternity. She was just waiting for her phone to ring--another murder, another robbery, another assault--and to whisk her away from her one night off.

Cecily shook her head slightly, biting into her breakfast. It couldn't stop her from feeling antsy.

For the first time, Mara desperately wanted to talk to Rowan.

She bit her lip hard, as the opposing trainer continued swaying with the wind. It hardly made any sense to her. Kira scratched at the oddish as much as he could—yet there was no point to it. The oddish rose upwards with the ground, only proving to grow.

Not one to curse, Mara couldn’t help it this time. Shit. The leaves absorbed energy, plucking it out of the sky, and then little orbs surrounded Kira. Mara’s eyes widened in alarm, imagining thousands of horrific scenarios that could happen to her dear espurr. Kira stumbled slightly, his eyes drooping, as energy itself seemed to be sapped away from him.

"Kira!” Mara cried out, her hands shaking, her eyes wide. She felt entirely powerless, as if the mareep had paralyzed her as well.

All she could do was stare forward, desperately trying to think of some method to best the oddish. The petals began to blow, and Mara glanced around frantically, hardly noticing as Kira bounced and attempted to gesture at some object hidden in the middle of the oddish’s petal storm.

“Kira, what is it?” Mara whispered, staring at Rowan, as if a look could communicate to him that she hadn’t the faintest idea what to do.

"Espurr!” Kira practically shouted, staring intensely towards the oddish. Despite being unable to communicate with more than looks and phrases, Mara nodded at her pokemon, deciding to trust. She couldn’t see the berry. She could only hope that her espurr knew more about battling than she did.

“Rowan, what’s this sweet scent?!” Mara asked, as Kira rushed forward, attempting to use covet and steal the berry away from the oddish. It seemed to be important.

Mara glanced over, watching as Yasha and Rowan bickered about type advantages. She glanced down at Kira, before throwing a glance over at the Oddish. She hadn’t the faintest idea what types they were. Maybe I have some sort of advantage? Does… purple…. beat… plant?

She shook her head slightly, resolving that that was ridiculous. At any rate, she’d be able to find out soon enough. All she’d need to do would be to experiment—and what better way to do that than in a battle! Her purple, almost mystic eyes narrowed into slits, as she stepped back into her own unique battle stance.

Junior Trainer Jane lowered herself to the ground, beginning to sway with her feet tucked into her body. Mara eyes widen and she took a step back, as if she were physically repulsed.

"What sort of battle stance is that?” Mara blurted, frowning sharply. “This is a battle, you need to be… serious…Can you even hear me?”

Sniffling a bit, some sort of sickeningly sweet scent filled the air. Mara’s mother would have loved it, but being paranoid, she couldn’t help but wonder if it was some sort of attack against Kira. Glancing down at her espurr, she nodded, regaining her confidence as she flung her finger out into the air, pointing at the oddish.

How in the world am I going to get rid of that scent? Well… It has planted itself into the ground… Perhaps if I cut at its legs, it would disrupt it? …. It’s worth a shot!

"Kira! Use scratch and unroot that oddish!” Mara stated firmly. She then glanced in her bag at the Pokedex—perhaps, if she had a moment, there’d be some sort of tip in there for dealing with an oddish! But at the moment, she needed to concentrate.

She had a battle to win.

"Long night?"

Cecily jumped a bit, immediately scrambling for her cell phone. Realizing that it was her roommate and not the medical examiner calling for her, Cecily relaxed a bit, giggling. She looked like crap, and she knew it. Justice, despite its ironic name, had more crime than she could ever imagine. Having only a double homicide to attend to was a slow night -- last night, if Cecily could remember correctly, she had to deal with evidence from three separate murder cases and four robberies.

Just an average night in Justice.

"Yeah... You could say so." Cecily grinned, sitting up on the couch. "Sorry if I got in your way--I was on call until... a few hours ago, I think. Dobbs was on vacation, so it was just me. So great, right?"

Her eyes fell on the bag of food, and her stomach grumbled. Instantly, her cheeks flushed a bright red--as much as she'd talk smack about McDonalds and other fast food places, she did love their food. "I wasn't sure if you were hungry or not, but I went and got you some breakfast."

Cecily's stomach grumbled again."God, you're the best. Can I pay you back? I think I have cash...somewhere...in here," she muttered, fishing through her wallet for whatever bills she could find. Grabbing a few fives and a few ones, she offered them to her roommate, hoping she'd oblige. She hated feeling like she was mooching off of other people.

"Excited for tonight?" Riley asked, before noticing the slight dark circles under Cecily's eyes."Sorry if I woke you by the way i'll be quiet."

Cecily shook her head, her caramel curls quickly getting (somehow) stuck in her mouth. Awkwardly brushing her hair aside, Cecily forced herself off of the couch, following her roommate into the kitchen. "Nah, you're good. I was about to wake up anyways." Cecily couldn't help but smile.

"Though the block party... That'll be weird, huh? People down at the lab were talking about it--some girl killed herself at the last one... Think that'll happen tonight?" Cecily joked, ever smiling. She couldn't help but be a tad bit morbid -- it was in her job description.

Fetching herself some water, Cecily sat down at the counter, gratefully biting into the food Riley fetched for her. She could hear the music outside gradually growing louder, and she couldn't help but reflect on how amazing it was to have a rockstar for a roommate.

"Maybe you should see if they'd let you perform, hm?" Cecily pondered, throwing a glance outside the window. A small curl of smoke rose towards the sky, with the sun beating down on them. She couldn't help but ponder if this was exactly how it had looked last time -- back when the girl was found dead.

Would something happen tonight?

Stop being so goddamn paranoid, Cecily admonished herself. Not everything has to do with murder.
