That's all :)

@CloseEnough @BlueSky44
@PlatinumSkink I tried to leave my post super open ended for you guys, so I imagine you could do something similar? Then again, I felt a little awkward posting already, but it'd been a day and Dewmeadow was updated.... Now I'm just rambling hehehe...
Mara Scelus
After her newfound friends had reacted however they may, Mara smiled quietly to herself. They’d be quite the odd group — the stranger from Johto, the hyperactive boy, and then the (albeit she disagreed with this) weird girl. Despite living in the same town as Rowan for as long as she could remember, Mara didn’t know him beyond a mere surface level.

She’d been too busy trying to think about anything that didn’t have to do with Dewmeadow. She hated the town, and of course, didn’t understand why anyone would want to have a laboratory there. As cool as Dogwood was, he must have had a few screws loose. The only possible explanation she could come up with for him being in Dewmeadow would be that hardly anyone left the little personal bubbles, and no one would come to bother him.

That, and she was fairly certain the land was cheap — there sure was a lot of it, at least.

Mara tried to avoid the glances of everyone in the town as they walked by. She didn’t have anything to say to them—she’d already said all of her goodbyes. And besides, she knew that her parents wouldn’t be out there. They’d understood that they couldn’t stop Mara from going off on her journey.

For a moment, she almost felt nostalgic—this could have easily been the last time she’d be in Dewmeadow.

A jarring song for little kids broke her from her thoughts, and she swiveled in place to face a pack of squealing little kids. Stiffening up a little bit, Mara hoped desperately that they wouldn’t touch her — those things hardly ever washed their hands! Who knew what germs they were carrying?!

“We should battle! And, uh, if you lose, you have to play tag with us! Deal?”

Mara gulped a bit, though it wasn’t that she was frightened. She just didn’t like kids. A bead of sweat rolled down her face, and she exchanged a glance with Kira, hoping that her pokemon would suddenly dash off in the opposite direction, requiring her to chase after it and avoid contact with the kids.

Instead, the espurr merely smiled malevolently back at her.

Useless! Mara thought desperately. There’s NO WAY I want to play with these kids… I’d have to disinfect EVERYTHING!

”If you guys would like to, I’ll fight,” Mara said softly, glancing over at Rowan and Yasha.

At least it’d give her and Kira some experience… right?

"I'm so terribly sorry -- but I must dash," Mallory excused, feeling the familiar itch in her knuckles. She faded away like a shadow, appearing outside in the streets of New York. As she traveled at a speed near but not quite at the speed of light, she felt the urge to knock on a door become stronger, until she arrived at the abode of one of the hunters.

She rapped on the door three times.

Figuring that it would be ridiculous to return to the bar, Mallory made a mental note to never travel there again. Instead, she went to her own home, and scrolled through her phone quickly, only to see a text.

It was a picture of a time dragon, with the caption.
"IT'S DRAGON SEASON!"

Cecily's hands were steady as she added samples of the victim's blood to each of the individual containers. The businessman's death had been unexpected -- but then again, that was true with most of the deaths sent to the forensic team. The spectrophotometer behind her had been most helpful in isolating the likely killer -- mercury poisoning -- yet that alone wouldn't be enough. Still, this was where her job ended. Placing the little vials in a rack, she handed them over to another technician, who quickly scribbled his name on the accompanying sheet of paper, releasing Cecily from responsibility towards the vials.

Exiting the laboratory, she checked her watch -- it was only 7:40 AM. She'd been called into work early that morning -- or rather, late that night -- and hadn't got a wink of sleep. If she didn't love her work, she doubtlessly would have complained. Her battered up impala awaited her in the parking lot, and she climbed into it, rubbing her eyes before inserting her keys. Sometimes, she'd forget whether or not she'd washed her hands afterwards -- it made her wonder how much blood would show up on her steering wheel.

No matter.

She drove home, only to groan and hit her head against the wheel when she remembered what day it was. It was the day of the infamous block party, in which any possibility of sleep was quickly forgotten. Grumbling, she parked and turned off her car, only to catch an eyeful of her neighbors running around like fools. She could see them looking up at something, but she didn't care to know. She just wanted some goddamn sleep.

After dodging her neighbors, she made it up the stairs and into her tiny little apartment. Collapsing onto the sofa, she heard a crinkle beneath her -- and felt like sobbing, as she recognized it as being one of her favorite comic books.

"Fucking hell," Cecily muttered, jumping up and attempting to assess the damage to the comic book. "This is just great."

The front cover had torn, yet she was far too sleepy to do anything about it. Tossing the book aside, Cecily rolled over and attempted to shut out the rest of the world, almost daring anyone to disturb her. God help them if they did.

"Uh, say y'all, how about we all partner up for this here journey? I sure ain't exactly sure how things work in Huji and I really could use some buddies for the...

Mara couldn’t hide her excitement, as much as she tried to. A smile broke out on her face and she would have squealed, had Rowan not stunned her into silence a mere moment later. Her eyes widened as Rowan began, in her opinion, to shriek.

'YES! THAT! JUST THAT!'

“...road. What do y'all say?”” Yasha finished, but Rowan wasn’t done yet.

'We should totally travel together, sharing our experience and becoming the best of friends together as we see the world…. Er, that is, if you want to? I-if you want to travel alone, or don't want to travel with us for any reason, that's entirely okay, it's entirely your choice, y-yeah...'

Mara felt like she’d been hit with a stun spore, torn between squealing in excitement and crying. She never knew how to handle people shouting—no matter whether they were happy or angry. It always put her in a state.

Don’t mess this up, Mara! she scolded herself, biting her lip and clenching her fists. With determination, she nodded firmly at Yasha and Rowan.

”I’d very much like to travel with you both.” Mara said, attempting to keep up her confidence. She then remembered Rowan’s enthusiastic outburst about becoming best friends — ”But… Never mind. It doesn’t matter.”

She paused, and smiled convincingly at the both of them. They didn’t need to know her doubts that they would become the best of friends.

And besides, Rowan’s purrloin was rather adorably mysterious. Mara couldn’t help but giggle slightly when it started vocalizing, looking at the cat pokemon fondly. Perhaps this wouldn’t be the worst idea. Who knew what would happen, anyways?

I'll post in about 3 hours, nearly done with the school day! :)
Mallory knew that she ought to be impressed.

Really, she knew.

However, she merely stared at the dragon. "Am I supposed to be quivering in terror because you can scream?" Mallory hissed, positively scathing. Her arms raised upwards as the ground shook, a heavy darkness falling over the bar. She frowned in concentration, hardly able to keep everyone down and underneath.

For a brief moment, she contemplated actually killing everyone within the establishment. The thought was cut short by a round of salt blasting into her chest, and she coughed, falling backwards as the hunter hoard rose up, armed and violent. A younger one took an image of Mallory, the dragon, and the vampire on his phone, before making a bolt for the bar.

Hunters will pay a pretty price for us... Mallory realized, and she shook her head, screaming in rage and agony. The screech was deafening, almost like a banshee's -- and she would know, given that her cousin was indeed one.

"Great, you can roar!" Mallory shouted, beginning to get a bit hoarse. "Can you do anything else? Something more useful? Or are you really just a glorified worm?!"
After hearing that the dragon couldn't even breathe fire, Mallory rolled her eyes. "Then what exactly is the fucking point of you if you can't just roast a slayer?! What are you, Puff the Magic Bartender?"

Fortunately for her, the vampire seemed to have taken care of the slayer for the moment being. Mallory desperately hoped that the dragon was heading over to help the vampire gut and kill the slayer -- there was no reason to leave the human alive. And perhaps she had knocked for him a few minutes ago -- she tried not to pay attention as to who she was knocking for. It ruined the surprise.

"Hi, bitch," a dark and masculine voice whispered behind her ear. Instantly, a cold and sharp, yet fiery, pain burst through her body. Mallory screamed as her human form faded away, and the blade remained inside of her. Fucking hell, it's iron! Writhing on the floor in pain, she felt another knife enter her, and dimly, she could make out what seemed to be a dozen more hunters entering the bar.

Desperately, she wanted to fight back -- yet the iron rendered her completely powerless. She looked up into the rugged mug of her attacker, and she fell still, attempting to play dead.

It worked.

He removed the blade and chuckled, standing up. "Now, who's next?" the new slayer sneered.

"You are, asshole," Mallory growled, attempting to shove him into a wall. Instead, her powers went haywire, and the lights in the bar went out. Thuds could be heard all around as the hunters dropped to the ground, momentarily dead. They wouldn't remain so for long.

"Can you fucking breathe fire now?!" Mallory growled, her eyes glowing a fierce red underneath her damned cloak.

Mara scrolled through the options of the pokedex, momentarily distracted when she heard the professor’s piercing scream. Some of the awe she had for him slipped away, and when he reappeared, she frowned slightly.

He’s weird.

Mara listened to the professor vaguely, catching the route and town name that would be relevant. She’d already noticed that there wasn’t any sort of map included in the pokedex—she’d need to find one as soon as she could. Perhaps Quagmire town would have them for sale.

At any rate, she’d be finally leaving Dewmeadow! A smile played on her lips and she felt like shouting in join, but instead, she kept herself composed.

Glancing over, she saw Rowan happily snuggling with his new Purrloin, and Yasha seemed quite content with his new Yamna. She bit her lip, pondering how to approach the subject… Would they even want to travel with her? She doubted that they would, and she resolved herself to likely travel alone, as much as she wanted to go in a group.

Still, she cast a hopeful glance over at Rowan and Yasha—maybe one of them would ask her to travel with them! As fascinating as the world outside of Dewmeadow was to her, she knew that she couldn't just go by herself. For starters, she was only one person, and there were all sorts of rumors about snatchers and such. And of course, having friends couldn't hurt! As obsessed as she was with knowledge, she knew that it was important to have friends to go with.

They probably won't want to go with someone like me though.... Mara thought sadly. At least I have Kira...
