Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

Ah, yep. All valid points. Just a few things:

Yeah...60 mph vs. 60 km/h. I think that's what tripped me up the most. They are slightly different :S. I think I can deal with 60km/h.

About the reproduction, you are right that I was basing it off primates. It was an assumption based off the fact that they live in communal groups, while bears are more solitary if I remember correctly. Of course they don't have to have both or neither. It's just that when making anthropomorphic animals, there is little knowing exactly how much is inherited from humanity. Thank you for making that clear.

I may have just been a little quick off the line making some of the judgements, and for that, I'm sorry if I seemed reactive.

Oh yeah, and as for the thematic tying together planning stuff, that's not at all something that is required. It's just that I saw all this language about them being generally better than every other race with the only impactful drawback being birthrate and population. Now, that's not exactly true on a second pass but asking for plans was just me searching for themes that made sense for it all.

Also, there's no need to get rid of them.
Uh, hey Kho. My bro. Mr Kho. Rollin' in the dough...

Just finished reading the tree mind sheet.

Look, I don't want to sound dismissive or judgemental or anything, but those guys seem a little uncanny. Please brace for what is going to sound a little terrified.

First of all, there's - what? - a couple of hundred of them? Maybe it's the distortion of the square map of Galbar's sphere that's making their territory look bigger, but they must be pretty good at covering all that area.

Of course, perhaps I'm underestimating their capability. You mention that despite their bulk and propensity for staying together that they can run about as fast as a god damn cheetah for a solid ten minutes and then maintain the speed that might still trip a speed camera in an earthly suburb road.

I mean, these guys have a lot of energy to be able to do that, I'm sure. They must work pretty hard for all that energy as well, seeing as it's frowned upon for them to kill animals. Those hunters have their work cut out to feed those meat-hungry folk.

On the topic, what improves if one of these guys becomes a hero?

Moving on, wouldn't it be a little difficult to enforce the taboo on mating between non-parent pairs when they have super-speed?

Look, I understand that you're probably balancing these guys out by having their population being small. It's just that I get the feeling that some choices were made that don't seem to fit a theme or good reason.

Now, far be it from a lowly minion like me to dictate what the GM can or cannot create. This is all just gassy feedback...but can I just ask...do you have particular plans for these bears that tie this stuff together?

Quick sketch of how I see the population division of Galbar, since the map is not being updated and all that I would like to see if anyone has any other idea going on that I should know about before making any map changes

Looks pretty good.

Well, I think hain and some other races are mingled wherever they can survive, so they might be spread and mixed a tad more.

Also, is the southern half of the ironhearts really uninhabited?
Sounds good to me.

I loved it. Honestly from all the demi-gods and heroes I'd want Reathos to visit, Gerrik (and Elysium) seem to interest me the most.

The tone of the words say 'sincere' but the subject of who is coming to visit says 'threat'....
@Muttonhawk Is it a coincidence that I'm suddenly seeing kung-fu bears in your sig? -.-
And, just bears in general... =.=

I think one or two of them have bears? I can't remember the exact number, I have something around one hundred pics rotating in that sig. One of the more recent ones is a bear twirling a stick around. Pure coincidence, I assure you.

If Toun sees the Rovaick, this can only end badly for them.
If you get there before Teknall (if you go at all), he'll be there shortly after (especially if you're already there).

I haven't decided exactly what will happen. Toun is in a fairly calm mood right now. I guess it'll depend on the interaction with the summoner.
Hmm, hopefully I have time to write something up this weekend. Learning that other intelligent life has sprung up will be an interesting wake up call for Toun.
Sabine looked around as if she might find Ma'tanza in the immediate area. "Hmm...I do not know what her duties are. But she does practice magic." Sabine turned to Peiter, "We might find her practicing with the other mages. If she is not there, we could ask anyone there for her or her mentor."

Without any other leads coming to mind immediately, Sabine began walking in the direction of the training rooms. They had targets set up for practicing combat magic, but there was no guarantee that Ma'tanza would be doing that.

Along the way, Sabine made another suggestion. "We might try finding her friends and relatives in the common areas if she is not there."

If he were honest, Tzirret did not know what to expect from La'khay's response. What she said made sense, but there wasn't much advice in it. Her descriptions even evoked a bit of what he feared the battle would be like. Regardless, Tzirret still appreciated the understanding.

"It is okay," Tzirret replied, "I'll show them that Tzirret can do it. Then they might not treat him like a child anymore." A curiosity spread across Tzirret's face that lifted his cloudy look momentarily. "Did La'khay ever have to prove that she could do something that others doubted her on?" he asked.
Due to positive reception, I've updated by character post with the simple hain facial expressions under miscellaneous info.
Oh boy, ubermenschen protecting ubermensch crystals that turn nebulously worthy folk into ubermenschen! I'm sure no balances of power could be disrupted amongst the mortal world if some enterprising god were to sidestep all those fancy trials and scatter a fistful of them across Galbar.
