Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

Sabine, though clearly hiding some anxiety about returning to the Xanmeer, agreed and carefully took the offered Staff of Magnus. She only turned halfway around before looking back. "Would it make more sense to use the staff to defend against the leaders of the cult? They are very powerful. We might need the staff for warding."

Lunise lifted her chin and clasped her hands together. "From what I understand, we have more magical power amongst us than your previous experience this time, even without the staff. Even I have had more years to practice than Meesei."

Meesei may have been a special case in terms of magical power for her age, but Lunise's point still stood. Albeit without Lunise having first hand experience of Hal-Neesa's sheer power.

The only issue I have with making them temporary is that it puts additional burdens on the GM, who will have to monitor every single Holy Site to ensure that it expires when it's meant to...

You know what? This Divinis has been getting a bit stale for me with using the same characters for so long, so a free Divinus with new characters sounds like just what I need.

Sounds like fun! Let us know how it goes.

As for Amul, I see it more as an IC precedent for GM action more than a limiting go-to for GM action. Something to preclude the "WTF HOW DARE A GM MAKE UP A DISASTER ON THE SPOT TO RUIN MY OP STUPID FUN" type deal.

I think it's easy to forget with how awesome the players are in this RP.

i wanna die, i lost the file that contained a several thousand word long multi-part series of posts that explored the birth (sprouting, blooming?) of a new sentient species. Can teknall pls craft me a gun to shoot myself lol

Nooooo!

I had better back up my progress on this Yorumpost in that case, hmm.
Lunise was naturally the one who ignored Meesei's advice not to rush. At least, that much was suggested by her relatively early appearance. She was out of uniform, instead opting for a rather understated set of trousers, a wrap shirts, and shoes. Glass vials tinkled together in a small leather satchel on her belt. With her hair tied up, she looked ready to act as support for Meesei in a fight. No Dominion agendas, no psychological impositions, nothing more than support.

Lorag and Sabine emerged next, equipped as they usually were for missions these days. Sabine was still displaying dark rings around her eyes. On top of still holding anxiety over her recent experiences, she was never glad to leave Yerig and Do'rhajul alone for more than an hour or two.

Little time remained before Janius and Kaleeth both strode in, suited in their respective heavy armours. It was only when they were fully equipped like this or transformed into beasts that their image as gentle parents was challenged in others' minds.

Then again, how everyone looked was telling enough of how they had changed over the years since last at Molag Bal's cult. They all remembered it gravely, though. Lunise could pick it up in their expressions.

"So, do we have a plan?" Janius started off.
Ah, well if Meesei is going to persuade them to stay behind, then Fendros will definitely stay behind.
I imagine Fendros and Ahnasha would be fairly quiet about deciding whether to go with Meesei or not. Fendros would probably want to stay behind, ostensibly to take care of the children. He would not want to revisit the Xanmeer, even after all this time. He would tell Ahnasha that he would only feel anger and pain there.

I'm not certain about Ahnasha, though. What would her thoughts be about going with Meesei here?
"We'll speak again, champion," Gro-Tagnud said. He did not have any further chance to react to Meesei's sudden dangerous excursion. "Keep me updated. We'll be ready to move within the week, once the marshalling is completed."

Rhazii genuinely smiled. "I might try that. I think I get it more, now. Thank you, Aunt Kaleeth."

He stood and stepped around the table to give Kaleeth a good, firm hug. When he let her go, he looked in the general direction of the egress to the square. "I should see if my unit is mustering training now." He looked to Kaleeth. "But, I'm feeling a lot better about my chances now. I really appreciate it."
"I'll meet with your general in the soonest time I can make," Gro-Tagnud said. "All you need to do is to say the word for a reciprocal inspection here in Cyrodiil. She can see the quality of legionnaires I'll be gathering for herself."

Gro-Tagnud narrowed one eye. "Are you going to send the location to the Dominion as well? Should they agree to join the mission?" His tone was straight, but the implications were just as clear. "You make it sound as if I should lend you some bodyguards."

Kaleeth could tell this time that her words really had Rhazii thinking. He had gone from a low mood to a curious visage in under a minute. He leant both of his elbows on the table and held his clasped hands to his chin, looking off a distance over Kaleeth's shoulder.

"Do you think, maybe..." He returned his eyes to Kaleeth. "If I worked out something I'm really good at, I could focus on it like you did? Everyone in the pack has taught me a lot of different things. Even mother and father have made me familiar with so much. It's hard to know what to choose."
Gro-Tagnud's face faltered as he thought about how to answer. It was hard to tell how exactly he felt about lycanthropes in the Legion, excepting an obvious layer of uncertainty.

He began carefully, which was a far cry from his confidence up to this point. "Champion, I know you have former legionnaires around in your inner circle, so I'm not going to presume your ignorance at the discipline it takes to be part of the Imperial Legion. Marod has also specifically told me to not underestimate the discipline required to live and function in society as a lycanthrope. What I am not going to do, however, is equate them like they are two bags of wheat. Legion doctrine is of tight formations, precise movements, discipline, bravery, resilience, and to follow orders without question." He tilted his head to one side. "I will not pass up an opportunity to increase our chances of success. But, while I know my own men, I don't know yours. Until I see your clan militias in action, I will reserve my decision on integrating."

At least part of Gro-Tagnud's words were certain. If he was so affirming of his own army's discipline, bravery, and loyalty, there should theoretically not be a problem with putting them close to lycans.

Rhazii ran a hand over his head. He knew as well as any the sensitivity of the events. Still, there were at least three parts of the story he was trying to unpack at once.

"I still remember the Orcrest clanhome," Rhazii said. "I remember noticing how Meesei was moving when everyone returned. I heard a bit about what happened. I guess...I guess I was too young to really appreciate how close it must have gotten." He lifted his ears. "Still, the ring does sound amazing. And to do all that after how you started." Rhazii blinked his eyes down. "You said you were training non-stop. How much did it take you to improve? What kind of training did you have to do?"
Gro-Tagnud mulled over the information. He stuck out his lower lip further than his tusks already pushed and nodded. "I'll keep that all in mind."

He paced around the room and slowed to a stop while looking at a large map of Tamriel hung on the wall. There were many pins of various colours placed around the borders between the Empire, the Dominion, and independent territories, such as Hammerfell and Black Marsh. "While I do desire to discuss lower level command structure with your general, there is one matter I would prefer made clear right now." He turned from the map to look at Meesei impassively. "Who is going to have authority over what, in your understanding? And what does the Dominion commander think? If they've thrown their lot in yet, of course."

Rhazii gave a look that was more understanding than Kaleeth might have expected when she mentioned how scary Meesei can be. That said, he did not interrupt. He was starting to appreciate why going to battle at his current level of skill might not be the best idea, given Kaleeth's troubles. It only kept him quiet and holding a neutral frown. However, mention of Meesei's ring lifted Rhazii's eyes.

"She...lent you her ring?" Rhazii took a moment to watch his disbelief fall like a curtain. "I have never seen her even take it off. I don't understand, I..." He paused and spoke in monotone. "She must have really believed in you."
