Maria is also known to be very stubborn when it comes to certain subjects and also very hardheaded. Maria also seems to be the happiest when she is out in the fields, or out doing some bow hunting for the community mainly due to her life growing up in the farm with her father which are the best memories she has of her father and family before her family got divorced and then the outbreak years later
Habits: Maria when she is nervous tends to rub the back of her neck, or bites her lower lip during an awkward situation. Maria also has the habit and will randomly just crack her fingers or neck.
Hobbies: Maria's true passions lay in farming and can be seen in the fields most of the time, bow hunting when Maria is not behind the safety of the walls of the community. Maria also has a love for music and knows how to play the guitar

Your First Walker Encounter: Maria had just finished her third semester at Chatham University which was the college she had chosen to go to. Maria drove all the way from the city of Pittsburgh to Zelienople to take the next couple of weeks off and spend some time with her father, since her mother and sisters were living in the city and saw them pretty often. When Maria got to the family farm it was rather deserted, and usually there was someone working out in the fields or in the barn.
She spent about thirty minutes walking around the farm, and decided to check inside the house when Maria entered the family room that's when she saw her father fending off one of the farmhands. Seeing the wound on his arm, and her father distracted by the entrance of his daughter the walker farm hand suddenly bit into Maria's father's neck. Doing the only thing Maria could she headed into the kitchen there was a cooking knife on the counter and quickly went to her father's aide and stabbed the walker in the back of the head.
Maria was shocked and scared seeing and witnessing what had just happened her father was in complete shock now and loosing blood and tried calling 911 only to hear that emergency service lines were completely busy. Maria quickly tried her best to stop the bleeding and then he died a five minutes later, Maria quickly tried calling her mother and sister but the lines were busy. Then her father came back, Maria tried to talk to her father but nothing she could have done to help him, and he lunged towards her the knife was still in her hand and in defense she stabbed her father in the head. Maria quickly grabbed her father's compound hunting bow and left to go to the city to look for her mother and two sisters
]History Before Outbreak:[color=lightgreen][/color]Maria was born as the oldest in her family, her father owned a family farm outside of the town of Zelienople and her mother growing up on the farm from the age of seven when she was old enough she would take care of the farm animals, they owned four cows, five horses, ten sheep and about thirty chickens. Maria actually enjoyed working side by side with her father, when Maria was around the age of thirteen her father decided to take her out on their first hunting trip. He had bought her a bow her first kill was a white tailed deer, but when Maria was fifteen years old her mother and father started arguing constantly until eventually they filed for divorce. Maria had a choice to either live with her father or her mother, but she chose to stay with her father since they were closer and Maria was old enough to choose which parent she wanted to live with.
Maria was still close and saw her mother and sisters quiet often, when high school came around Maria did very well always getting A's and B's and the occasional C here and there. Maria eventually graduated from high school, and she went to Chatham University in Pittsburgh living in an apartment she would be able to see her mother and sisters fairly often. She got a part-time job at a retro diner in the city that sold mainly breakfast all day and worked there usually during the evenings while she went to school in the early morning and afternoon. Maria would also always visit her father as well during breaks or in between semesters.
College life was harder then high school was for Maria, but she still got good grades and managed to make quiet a few friends and she would spend time when she wasn't busy with either her part time job or school work. Maria also took some classes and learned how to speak Spanish she is fairly fluent with it. Then Maria finished her third semester of college and went back to her house to visit her father.
History Since Outbreak:[color=lightgreen][/color]After what had happened to her father she quickly drove towards her mother's house where she and her sisters were living, as she turned on the radio to see what was going on Maria could hear riots already going on in Pittsburgh. Usually the drive was about thirty to forty minutes it ended up taking her about two hours to get there. When Maria was finally at her mother's house she was glad that they were actually home, and she told her family what had happened though she left out the part what she did to her father. As the riots in Pittsburgh got worse. And the city went into Martial Law and they were told to stay in their houses while things got under control. Later on that night power was shut off, and eventually the National Guard and military came in the day later.
The military and national guard had set up a safe zone around Heinz Field, and PNC Park telling the people that it would be safe there Maria, and her sisters and mother grabbed what they could and headed over there. Then things started to settle down and they stayed there for six months, until a horde of walkers managed to break through the gates. In the ensuing chaos Maria's mother and one of her sisters were killed by the walkers.
Devastated Maria and her sister though managed to get away with a small group and started to head south, they went through Virginia, the further they went south they would occasionally lose people until it was just the two of them alone. Near the boarder of North Carolina and Georgia, Maria and Kristina came across Lorna Dunn alone in a gas station. Lorna was struggling with a group of Walkers, doing the right thing Maria quickly drew out her bow and launched an arrow at one of the Walkers while her sister took out another and Lorna finally taking out the last one. They quickly became really good friends, and since then Lorna has been with their group.
As time went on their group started growing, then they met Richard Johnson he quickly convinced Maria to let him into their group much to Kristina's and Lorna's concerns they needed more muscle in the group and Maria let him in. A month passed, and their supplies were running very low Lorna suggested she and Richard go on a supply run. They were outside the small city of Gainesville, Maria and Richard could see a restaurant and decided to check it out for supplies.
That's when Richard who had his eyes on her since they met made his move on her, of course Maria didn't want that and quickly fought back which caused the attention of Walkers. Richard seeing the group of Walkers coming in quickly shot Maria in the leg, causing a grazing wound though not deep enough it was enough to slow her down. As the walkers got closer and closer Maria barely managed to get through the back door, seeing a dumpster nearby she quickly climbed inside just as the walkers started surrounding it.
About a day went by and Maria finally climbed out of the dumpster and slowly started making her way back to where her camp was only to find that it was all gone, and the group had moved on. Separated and heartbroken Maria traveled alone for the next few days before coming across James Grady, who had offered her a place to stay. Which she quickly said yes to and moved into the Newnan group, since then Maria had stayed there for the last three months contributing to the community and aiding with their agricultural and livestock needs becoming a real asset to the community.
Three months later Maria was reunited with Lorna and her sister Kristina, then word came of an attack on Newnan and they had to scrub their supply run and head back to Newnan. They managed to make it through the inner walls, to defend the town, after witnessing the loss of Leann, Lorna, Caesar, Vivian, and Alicia. Maria tried to get out and help, just as quickly as she left she was bit by a walker just below the shoulder. Taken back to the infirmary for the new Doctor Victor to amputate Maria's right arm, sadly due to blood loss she passed away leaving Kristina alone to fend by herself
