Blame him or not, it's disadvantageous. The Mad Blood requires a still target, so it's not exactly easy to set up.

Allow me to elaborate a bit more on this whole "crystalline seams" thing. You probably all know how, in any crystal, there is a weak point, where hitting that point hard enough will cause the crystal to shatter? This is kind of like that. It doesn't really change the body, per se. Instead, it creates a force distribution effect and hardens the area just a little bit, so that when the area is struck just so, the force is distributed to tear up the area in a crystalline formation. Does that make sense?

I'm 98% sure that concept only applies to compressive/tensile stressed structures, and not all crystals.
