What's the most things you've seen in RPs?

Hmm... interesting.

We our quick search revealed the common lengths only. But your statement there about practical use @NuttsnBolts, is one we had in mind too. Over a certain length, a bladed weapon isn't of much practical use. Sure, you can use it, but it ain't practical.

Its one thing to make a long weapon. Its quite another to make a useful long weapon.

But that's only 3.7m. We sell 4 meter long pole saws at work and they're hard to swing around even when retracted to half length. IF there is a 5 meter long sword out there it couldn't possibly be used for anything productive.

People don't realise that there are several different types of Japanese swords like the wakizashi and tachi... but they always go for the generic Katana.

Lexie saw the partially wet male continue on his walk through the diminishing crowds. The rain nor the water on his pants seemed to bother him too much. As for Lexie, she continued her short dash to the entrance of the Subway station nearby and joined the herd of livestock that would travel these dark and danky tunnels on a daily basis.

"Enemy?" she thought to herself as she stood on the escalator that took her down to the Hyper-rail network. "Mery is human. A pawn. Or was he talking about someone else?"

Her skills at sensing other beings wasn't as good as some of the other demons and it was something she could never understand. Maybe in her true form it may be different, but she hadn't changed form in quite a while due to the long hours within the workplace. Still, someone else noticed something and he had this vibe to him that seemed familiar.

"God dammit... I need a fucking break..." she whispered to herself as she bought her fingers up to her eyes and massaged them gently. "Maybe a trip to the Slaying Trench this weekend might sooth me."

The Slaying Trench, a club located deep within the city limits and near impossible to find, that is unless you knew where to find the entrance. It was a place limited to demons and popular for breaking many of the rules set by the humans. The worse part about it was the illegal fights between Cyborgles and Demons. Many of the poor Cyborgels were forcefully programmed to fight each other with refusal being their self termination. Demons seemed to love this, watching these powerful beings reduce themselves down to nothing more than a shell of their former self.

Lexie came to a stop. She looked around at the empty platform that surrounded her and heard a few noises from some teenagers off towards one of the ends. The tunnel's clean tile surface reflected the dim light giving her enough guidance to find a bench to sit on. As she sat there she could see the hologram on the wall indicating that it was only a few minutes until the next train would arrive. A second hologram near by was playing a faint jingle for some candy commercial accompanied with a weird video of dancing pandas.

"Be more careful," she heard in her head as she relaxed, closing her senses off to the world. Her eyes brighten into an emerald green and a couple walking past took a short, second look believing that they were brightly coloured contact lenses. She closed into a slight trance, listening, allowing the world around her to speak it's faint murmurs.

Is 12 to young to start roleplaying?

for a child to get into tabletops, the DM has to be pretty good. and perhaps the mechanics simplified a bit. like everyone skipping certain fields.

Not all table tops require a good GM, if we are talking about actual table top games. Gloom is probably a really good example. It's a card based game but as things happen to each player they can create a story around each event. The GM is technically the game itself and the players are obeying it's rules.

Time?

Ah, I think I understand. So as an example: Player A Plans to meet up with Player B, deliver a package, then both meet for dinner later that day.

10:00 - 10:30 Player A waits for the person and delivers package to Player B 10:15 - 10:45 Player B receives package and travels elsewhere 5pm Player A writes about their dinner experience 5pm Player B writes about their dinner experience

If so, that seems like a pretty nifty system and with the options for general time like Morning, Evening, etc it would allow for less precise timing. Also would be good for time based events within an RP. :)

Time?

Quite simple, what's the best way to control time in any Roleplay? It's the one thing that I find seems to break the immersion when players write about different events at different times (morning, afternoon or day, night), or in a different scenario one player is able to do a list of 50 projects all in the same time that another player has a cup of tea. Understand that there's no perfect answer but knowing how someone would avoid mentioning "time" is something I've been wondering.

Want to join a RP

Keep looking and you'll eventually find one. I was looking for a few RPs to enter (and one or two didn't take off) before I found one that I liked. It's almost like looking for 2nd hand goods on Ebay. What's sold one week is not always the same as what is sold the next week. Also, talk to the GM and ask questions. Get a feel for the type of person they are and how the RP is going to work. My GM is strict for what she wants but it's good because she is also very lenient if it fits within her idea for the world. And best of all, Good Luck. :)
