@NuttsnBoltsThanks for the advice, I've been lurking on a couple threads lately. There's one advanced RP I'm thinking about trying but mmm.... idk if I'm up to par for advanced yet, even tho I'd like to try. Maybe I'll just PM the GM like you suggested.
Ah, advanced... It's nothing difficult. It comes down to how big your posts are and how much freedom there is in letting things slide.
- Free is 1-2 lines of text with general plot
- Casual is a couple paragraphs with general plot that allows for a bit of freedom
- Advanced is just longer posts that extend over several paragraphs with a focus on story, history/lore and usually in depth
It's nothing difficult but it comes down to what your ability is. Generally most people will end up in casual as it has the largest population.
@CarantathraielYeah everyone's been nice so far. Idk, I'm kind of all over the place with my tastes sometimes, depends on my mood I guess. I usually prefer modern or sci-fi stuff tho. I've only been writing creatively in my spare time for a couple years now.
@NuttsnBoltsHaha wow. I've had to deal with that before, sometimes it makes me lol hard when I'm watching them fight someone else who is getting pissed and sometimes it frustrates me to no end when my character has to deal with it. I guess it won't be too bad here since there are official GMs for threads. The most RPing I've done is in chatrooms where you can't really force one person to leave if they're being annoying.
You get someone that's a good GM and they'll ensure that the RP flows well. It also helps with the structure of the OOC, IC and Character tabs so that it feels more formal and easier to see who each character is.
Currently the only RP I'm in is one with @Daxam which seems to be a mix of a cyberpunk world and demonic/angelic themes (It's currently full btw), but it seems to be going pretty well. Hardest part I'm having at the moment is trying to write a story for my character which isn't up to much at the moment so it's just me extending a few events until something happens, but when it does I'm gonna have a lot of fun. xD
Best thing I find is just browse for a few days and maybe PM the GM if you're not sure about an RP. There's new ones rising up fairly often so if you don't see one this week, maybe check it out in a few days and a new one may turn up.
@CarantathraielLol yeah, I'm firstie. I've been "lurking" for about a week now, finally decided to make the big step up and register :P
Did the same when I started so it's only natural.
Pretty much got sick of the RP section I used on an Anime forum due to terrible contribution and people loving to godmod, so I pretty much left and wandered about looking at different forums until I came across here. :)

Haha. I know. I was just quickly checking my subs. Been a bit busy lately (Dragon's Crown on Vita) plus it's about 11:30 and I havent had much of a weekend due to work. xD

Your idea sounds well thought out, but you may need to think of how others will interpret it and what sort of freedom they will hard. Often when I'm looking at an original idea I try to see what reference it has to something else that I have seen or experienced. For example, I'm in an RP off site that's like Avatar except the nations are planets and it's semi futuristic.
Sometimes original ideas are very difficult to get off the ground, so just be prepared for that.
