So here's a comparison for roleplaying and the way the forums could be operated.

Ever walked into a news agency? Sure you have. Magazines, newspapers, comics, all those random little trinkets to buy. Basically the guild is like a news agency and the different roleplays are the categories of magazines. Cars, fashion, holidays, business, computers... all these are like the genres of a roleplay.

Smut is an adult section. Special magazines wrapped in plastic that show all those naughty secrets and sexy ladies. Everyone knows it's there. There's nothing illegal about it. However selling to a minor is illegal without the proper identification. The magazine category is like the RP tags, the plastic wrap is the PM system, and the store clerk is the GM and Moderator. If they refuse to sell you the purchase, ie enter the roleplay, then you don't take off that plastic wrap and enter the PM of the Smut. If you can't enter the RP... then you will never know what's inside.

THAT is how you do an anology.

An analogy works best when it is compared to a neutral base. Adding a term like child porn will always start up an argument because it is a sensitive topic. There is nothing wrong with smut. Nothing... but there is something wrong with child porn.

BANG! BANG! THUD!

A red splatter exploded from the target that Tahlia could see down the very end of her sights. With a limp drop and a roll to one of the sides with what was left of the bloody mess, she made grin... a grin of satisfaction for murdering an element out of her life that she had come to hate oh so much.

"Never did like watermelons," she joked to herself as she pulled the bolt back on her rifle and ejected the shell casing. With everything that had been going on during the week and how she had told her mechanics about her son, Tahlia needed to just simply vent some frustration and remember what it was like to cause a mess with such a deadly device. It was a rare thing to experience when you operated an NC and it came down to one key factor... you rarely saw the person's death.

Not seeing someone's death was something that the woman had grown accustomed to. Being the ranged attacker that she was and sitting as far back on the battlefield as possible, Tahlia only saw the deaths of her targets through the map information that her NC and the Drone issued to her. A disappearing dot on a radar screen, a fading light like the light of someone's life.

Tahlia pulled out the magazine and disarmed the rifle before placing it onto the table next to where she was lying prone. She hit a buzzer button on the wall, triggering a loud siren and a strobe light that began flashing just in front of her booth. Throwing her jacket over her body and pulling up the hood, she began the long walk down to where her fruit corpse was splattered. As she walked she felt rather exposed to the elements and dangers that an NC protected her from. Sure there were people supervising the range and she had done everything correctly as to not cop a stray bullet in the back, but that wouldn't necessarily stop someone with a vendetta. She didn't know what her reputation might be in a place like this and if there was a price on her head from one of the other companies.

I know Graham at some point is going to ask about my history. The thought went through her head like a nail. Both painful and certain. The longer she stayed here, the more everyone would find out about her secrets and the way Red Star operated. Would they fear her, loath her, pity her?

"Tahlia... Shut the fuck up!" she swore as she came up to the victim of such a horrendous murder, looking down at a watery death. The Australian kneeled down, placing her finger in the ooze and scooping up a bit towards her mouth before taking a lick. A shudder went down her spine with the sweet flavour that she hated oh so much.

"Even metho wouldn't salvage the taste of this shit."

Smut and child porn aren't the same. Comparing the two is just as bad as saying that BDSM is comparable to rape.

I think what people are forgetting that not 'every' pm RP that is 18+ has sexy time in it. Some can be violence, drugs, other adult themes, horror, etc. It's a class for those that don't want an RP to be made public. Smut is just a class that draws a lot of attention because of legal repercussions if the person is below the age, as well as many other issues.

You could have an Erotica tag and if some selects it they get a message stating that erotica IC post must be made in PM, or something along those lines. Eventually the option of subscribing to a hidden PM thread might be a solution, but at least having something there as an indication or tag to the style of RP you want might help with some of the interest check confusion .

Sort of on topic/off topic about kids and killing...

Sister knew a guy she went to school with. 15 or 16 year old from memory. Yeah... He murdered his stepfather and attempted to murder his mother. After he committed the deed police found him standing at the bus stop with his school gear, waiting to catch the bus to school as if nothing happened.

Point: some younger people are just mentally fucked up, so having a child killer who has grown up in a murdering world isn't unbelievable.

Maybe a tag with pm/nsfw to indicate that there's going to be content that won't be on the public sector?

You, and the GM You.

I know as a GM I'm probably not the best. I tend to not be the best at group motivations, but as a player I'm much better at driving a story and playing the role.

I also, as a GM, tend to over think to the point where I can burn myself out, and some of my rps have failed due to my own efforts. Wont say too much more, but I do know that I change drastically if I'm running the show. Not to mention I get stressed and paranoid in case I get some people that start up issues. :\

tldr: I change when I'm a GM and don't actually enjoy the management side of things.

I understand that, but then it becomes a problem when every single post of theirs is unnecessarily long. Besides, the 'spotlight' doesn't necessarily depend on how many words of fluff you put into your pieces.

That's simply personal preference. All my posts are generally at least 3,000 characters (my longest is about 7,000). Anything less then that and I don't view it as worth putting up.

It sounds like there are two people with different expectations on their writing style. :\
