Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

I'll probably get to moving the scenes forward and getting ready for our next plan of attack. A mentor may fall early in the game as well...

...and the battle has begun!

Dozens of Man-Owls took to the skies of the city, terrorizing whatever got in their way. Some of them removed children from their parents with their feet and talons, others successfully ate the children they abducted. Many of the creatures were strong enough to lift small cars on their own. And then there was the Court of Owls' newest Talon. Vesta 'Ves' Petrakis, aka Argonaut, was a wonderful girl and once the powerhouse of the Titans team. Now garbed in the armor of the Courts' agents, she lead the charge towards Grant's Gym.

Back at HQ...

The team had readied themselves at the sound of 'Squatcho's YouTube playlist. With the two holo-droids sparring in a ring upstairs disguised as Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed, the stage was set. The large skylight in the middle of the tall gym ceiling was shattered and the Man-Owls poured in, at least a dozen in total. The droids not putting up much of a fight against the strength and speed of the winged adversaries, the team was on edge downstairs in the actual base and HQ.

Robert and Daniel fused to become Leviathan. The taller ceilings in the Gym and HQ giving Levi the chance to work indoors, he had several of the larger weights brought down by El Sasquatcho ready to toss live frisbees. The others were ready as well but oddly enough it got quiet save for the luchador's music. The calm before the real storm.

Argonaut, now just another Talon, punched through the floor exposing the base. As the Man-Owls entered so did the rats of the city. It was actually quite the distraction and gave the strongmen of the group time to take a few creatures out of the air with the free weights. One of the creatures however, managed to rip off Parasite's arm. Namely, the one attached to her insectoid symbiote.

The arm itself fought back with the symbiote creating an insectoid construct armor to protect itself. The girl, Caitlyn, was in shock though and passed out from the pain. Already somewhat healing the stump that remained in place of her limb.

The Amazonian Talon eyed the strongmen, who were making quick work of her creatures. With a flying uppercut the likes of which nobody could have prepared for, Ves sent Leviathan flying through the HQ and Gymnasium towards the Gotham harbor. Levi could be heard screaming in the distance...

Not gonna do a reboot, and I did a Young Justice series last year. YJ however is a big part of my Advanced JL:FE game. I've already got three people now interested which is about what I was looking for to move forward.

The premise is part of the appeal, taking it outside of Gotham is counterproductive. The villains used thus far have been Mr. Freeze, a failed attempt at a Man-Owl, and presently a Man-Owl army led by a brainwashed Amazonian Talon. The team's got less than a few months experience and I'd say so far it hasn't been too bad. I said it somewhere on page one, it's more or less equal parts Teen Titans, Outsiders, and Birds of Prey with a dash of the spice and flavor from the animated Young Justice series. Robin recruited these kids and died before ever really getting to know any of them, and to honor his fallen partner Batman took it upon himself to help them continue their training under experienced supervision. As far as the cops and their accuracy in the field, it's Gotham in a world of superheroes. Suspension of disbelief is kinda key even with the grittier more realistic comics.

I've got a plan with where I want the RP to go and the villains in store. After a visit from members of the Justice League things will pick up and we'll bring in the next few recruits.

Anybody else?

@RumikoOhara Hi! Sorry I didn't see your post sooner!

Looks good so far!

Man... that new iCheck is FINALLY getting some attention. Only took a DC/Marvel debate and showing off my supergeek skills LOL

Hopefully we get a couple more good CS's and we can pick things up a little. I'll try and get a post up soon, but I don't wanna move things forward too quickly in case any new recruits want to begin their character's journey while Gotham is being terrorized by the Man-Owls...

~KL~
Yeah man that's perfectly acceptable. It'll also give the Flash a bit of a break...

In other news, IDK if I wanna bring Aquaman II into this as much as I wanna give an existing DCU artist 'toon force' powers after arguing with another RP'er in my Titans iCheck. In my mind there are ways of making a hero with cartoon related powers work, and then there are instances where others just want them to be gods and possess powers that can supposedly tank Superman or Darkseid just because they say they can. I've been tinkering with the idea for awhile now, even considered calling the guy Animaniac even though it's trademarked and sounds more like a badguy with toon powers when you think about it.

Anyway, feel free to go ahead and do that with Raven.
