Apologies for not having posted yet. Pretty sure I've got the flu. My head's been swimming, feels like I'm seasick, been throwing up, can't eat, etc... If I can get to feeling better to where I can look at a computer for more than five minutes without gagging I'll get a post up today.

Thing had a solo run in 08. Plus all four have been Avengers at some point.

You mean the mini series written by Geoff Johns before he was big time at DC? Can't remember if it was earlier than '08 or not [I thought it was, but comicvine.com is down ATM] but it wasn't that great, and until the most recent Uncanny Avengers Johnny Storm was never a member of the Avengers. It was always Jim Hammond. And at this point, really, who HASN'T been an Avenger? The F4 characters may have been considered members, but I can't say there's even one story out there where they played any kind of prominent role on the Avengers. They may have been stand ins, but no F4 member other than Johnny has actually been a member and not wearing a 4 in his suit. At least Wolverine and Storm had the decency to take off the X buckles and badges... hell Rogue is still wearing her last X-Men costume and she's been an Uncanny Avenger now for a couple years...

Aside from Hickman's run before the Future Foundation they haven't really had any memorable comics the last decade or so. Doesn't help that while other characters can be in teams and have solo titles the F4 apparently can't. I'd LOVE a solo Human Torch comic or the Thing.

@DrewVonAwesome I wondered why everybody kept calling him Hulk Cena. Makes sense LOL.

But why would Marvel continue to use characters they have to pay other film and tv studios to even use? I'd stop using them too. Disney/Marvel having to pay Fox to use their characters for anything is stupid. If it's films and tv sure, but video games, toys, etc? Marvel execs made it clear they didn't wanna put more products out there to keep those characters alive in fans eyes just to help Fox studios make money in the long run. Coming to terms with Sony on the use of Spiderman got their biggest character and rogues gallery back in their pocket anyway. Fox probably just wants too much money...

This doesn't stop them from using Wolverine once in awhile on Ultimate Spiderman Web Warriors, or Deadpool, but those seem to be the only two properties Marvel cared enough about to incorporate in their animated universe of shows. And getting rights to use two mutants rather than an entire team I'm sure is much cheaper. The X-Men weren't even mentioned by those two in the episodes they appeared in.

It's like when Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were in Age of Ultron and nobody could call them mutants or mention any of their pasts at all. The only politics worse than government politics are Hollywood politics.

@DrewVonAwesome Have you seen the adds for the new Avengers Academy game where it's younger versions of the core Avengers in a type of SHIELD Academy? I thought Tony was interesting, as he's only got the boots, one gauntlet, and his helmet done as far as armor. You get upgrades of course and it looks like you have another more finished suit but without the helmet before getting a more movie themed final upgrade. Anywhere here's one of the better shots I've seen, sucks no F4 or X characters were in this...



^^^ I thought it was interesting how they used black in the first costume similar to your boy's armor in your CS with the black legs...

And @Natty have YOU seen THIS?!?



I didn't know all of the Young Avengers were also gonna be in this. Definitely getting this game for my 6 year old now LOL. You'd think they could get away with using the Jim Hammond android version of the Human Torch for Disney/Marvel licensed stuff...
