Current Alternatively - and now, hear me out - one could avoid looking up photos of such eldritch horrors ... maybe?

Back for my bi-yearly visit. Now where did I leave that thingy-ma-jig? Anyone seen that mish-masher? I think it looks like motivation or something!

1. I was thinking that you all would sooner or later end up with some obscure clues, like a book or note with Dr. Atknins' handwriting, about some kind of cult preparing for the end of the world and awaiting the Great Old One. But nothing concrete, but I'm letting you be creative in what you find.

1.5. Regarding Faye Desdemona, I've let @RBYDark in on some information, he'll/she'll reveal them once August and Dupeen gets to the archives.

2. This, remember to remove the " ["color=2e3192"]Inspector Barry Lexington["/color"] :)

@Darcness Well glad that you popped in here then, I'll be waiting in excitement for your character sheet.

I'm living in GMT+1 time, just FYI people! If that helps in any way?
Inspector Barry Lexington

Well you have not changed one bit since France. Barry tucked his badge back into his pocket as he approached August and the older man standing beside the body. August Dupin, a face he hadn't seen for long. Far too long, yet not long enough it felt like.

"And you still insist on wearing that damned fedora. Well I guess at least one of us enjoys change. But you could say that, killing Krauts and serving Uncle Sam really impressed the top brass, so I was promoted after we came back. Looks like you took your own path, yet we wear the same coat."

Barry smiled and chuckled, but his thoughts were rapidly shifted back to the matter at hand. Sure it would be fun to go chatting with August about the good ol'days, even if he's a idealistic idiot, but there was still the issue of the body lying dead on the red snow.

"Yeah yeah, your sisters daughter Mary being lucky you..." Those words he nearly didn't register, he didn't even remember having talked about his sister or niece or anything like that, but he wasn't about to admit that. And frankly, he didn't care.

"Professor Dupree, that's good enough for me right now. I only need someone of the university's authority to allow us to set up a perimeter, keep the students and other bystanders away while we do our job. Seen as August already has done some of that work for us, we'll get right to the chase. Then I would like to question you first; as you said, you were the first at the scene, and our prime witness. Is there anyway we could take those questions, in private?" That last question came out as if directed towards August. The last thing Barry needed as an up and coming inspector, was having an PI meddling with his business. "And he worked here, at the university? Then I'll need to see his office, wouldn't want to leave any rocks unturned?"

Dr. Arthur Steiner

"Then let's not waste any more time out here, the last thing I want is the police to snoop around Dr. Atkins' office before us...And if you dare tell them, consider yourself expelled, Herr Günther."

Arthur gave one last look at the woman sneaking about, then let his gaze fall on the trio having a conversation around Dr. Atkins' body, before nodding to Emil and making his way into Miskatonic Universty itself. The woman was of little interest to him, she was probably just trying to sneak into one of the male sections to continue her romance with a student. Kids these days, an university is not a place for romance, at least not for people...

The corridors were one of the many unique architectular features of this sight; long, wide and tall, always walking past a door leading into one of the countless lecturing halls, reading rooms and offices that made the university so great. They used to be filled with students and teachers alike, not a day ago it had felt lively and energetic. Now it felt cold, lifeless and uncomfortably weary. Arthur felt as if he was being watched as he passed every single door on the way down the corridor, as if Atkins knew where he was going and what he was doing.

Click. The door unlocked and opened with ease, it was a known secret that most locks at the universty all could be opened with one key, it was cheaper that way. Arthur let Emil go in first while he looked behind them, making sure noone was following them. Quiet...it's never been this quiet here... He quickly shut the door behind them and locked it again.

Dr. Atkins' office was a mess, worse than usual; He was by no means a tidy person, very few here bothered with order here except people such as Dr. Henry Armitage, another strange expert in the building, but Arthur knew that this mess was more than usual.

"I don't know exactly what we're looking for, Herr Günther, but something in here must tell us why he leaped of the tower. Go look at his desk, I'll check his cabinets."
@T Risket@RBYDark Very true, less is more! Or as one can say it; Keep it simple, Stupid. We'll probably have a load of short posts later on as the conversations and speculation about what is actually going on, continues.

But yeah, I'm also working towards me exams, so my head is a little bit occupied with Norwegian language history and all that jazz. But I'm still keeping this RP alive, mark my words! Famous last words.

@Darcness Hi there, don't think I've seen you before. How did you happen to end up here in our lovely RP?

Edit: And congratulations everyone with having begun on Page 2! It's a record, huzzah! Let's celebrate with booze and stuff!

Edit#2: And posted, hopefully they weren't too sucky. Let's get some mythos uncovered, people!
@BurningCold Real life always comes first, so no worries. Thanks for letting us know, I (and everyone else) hopes that'll all sort itself out. Best of wishes!

@Sigurd I think that's for the best. She's a sneaky one after all, it'll work out in the end.

So we'll keep going then, those who for valid reasons can't join us in the investigation right now WILL be reintegrated as soon as they're able! I promise! But for the moment, we'll keep up the pace and not slow down the RP too much.

Cthulhu awaits!
@T Risket Pm'ed you, hope you got it. And thank you for your kind words, I'm rather happy with that post myself, haha :P

@Sigurd I'll let Arthur and Emil get going once some others have posted too. And we should probably get @Kaiachi more integrated into the story by now. Any thoughts?
And so the plot thickens (I hope)! Say welcome to Barry Lexington, the very special police-guy we'll need help from later on, surely :P And who is this strange "?", I hear you ask? Well, this and more you'll find out in the next episode of "Old One Rising"!
Dr. Arthur Steiner

"Well, while you give your statement to the police, I'll be in my office. Tell them to contact me there if they need me to make a statement as well, Dr. Dupree. Mr. August..." Dr. Steiners words were quick and precise, mistakenly cold for a man who had just seen a body. To August he gave a simple nod, while secretly giving a conserned look, before turning on the heal and walking away. He was concerned, yes, but just as much in need of answers.

Emil Günther, the German student, stood and observed the scene from a distance, at least from what Arthur could see. Sirens. Sirens and heavy boots. Well, you can't complain about their response-time, I guess. Arthur pulled out a sigarette from his pocket and lit it as he stepped beside Emil, not noticing where he was looking. "Dr. Atkins was supposed to tell me something this morning. This seems too perfect to be a coincedence, glaubst du nicht?"

Breathing in the nicotine, mixed with the chilling winter air down into his old lungs, he let his thoughts wander. What on Earth could he have been thinking? What did he need to tell me? Another drag of the smoke, and out again. It was starting to get too cold even, Arthur suddenly realized. I need to check Dr. Atkins's office, Herr Günther, and seen as you have no class today, I'll need your help...Look at me when I speak to you, boy, what are you looking at?"

It was then that Arthur too saw the woman sneaking about the area, as if she was looking for something or someone. "Kennst du sie?" Die Mädchen?

Inspector Barry Lexington

Another day, another case, and another day wasting your life helping people who's already dead...great Barry, great...Inspector Lexington had been just around the block when a police cop pulled up beside him, asking for his assistence? For what? Some kind of accidente over at Miskatonic Universty. So the old geezers have finally hit the bucket, finally!

The sight that greeted Barry, however, was far from a sight to celebrate for; blood-soaked snow in a perfect sircle around the piece of cloth that lay in the snow. A body, what else could have it been? A practical joke, yes, but Barry was in no mood for jokes. Unless it was about those blacks from the South, always fun to poke them, not that they felt anything. You're getting off topic again, Barry. Oh yes, the body.

"Inspector Barry Lexington, Arkham Police Department, get back from the body!" Who's in charge here?" Barry pulled out his police sign, a simple card with his name, rank and a police-star, showing it to any and all who might be looking for trouble. But it didn't take too long to see who was standing beside the body; an older professor he assumed holding a briefcase, and an old face he hadn't seen for a while. Well I'll be damned, August? What the heck are you doing here?

..?..

It's all so clear, yes, so clear. At..At..Atki...Atkins yes, that was his name, yes! The sun rises, but he falls, big pool of blood, face crushed. I warned you, didn't I? Don't blame me, I tried to help you, but you didn't listen! Nobody does...except Them...claws for hands..trumpet for...no, I don't want to remember! Stop it! Silence...good, silence...

You, you're here. I know you're there, I see you. Memories from past conflicts, visions, sweat and holes in your head. I know you, I know how you feel...I need you...before It rises, before it consumes us all...I saw it, many years ago.

They don't want me to tell, for they don't belive my words. Out of my mouth. Vibrations in the air. Without mass, without form and meaning. It's the truth, I know about it. Not outside here, never outside, always in my head. Toes, face, hands, no, never.

He fell to the ground, but not alone. Some...thing, looking from afar...watching...planning...hoping. Stone Man doesn't believe, doesn't want to believe, but he will find the truth. Knight from the old land and man carrying blood underneath his hand, they will know too. A lady? She sees them too. Friend...

You see me, find me, help me. It's your only hope.

Then the eyes opened, wandering around the square room. White fabric padded the interior, only one source of light and a small slit in the door, inticating a life on the outside. Alone, scared, and always remembering. It had been so long ago since the light had shined down, far too long.
@BurningCold Have a blast then, just wanted to make sure you weren't mad and all that. Have fun!
@BurningCold Want to have that mindblowing conversation in the corner store? Pretty please?
Alright, I think I'll be the mean GM and say that we can't really wait any longer for those who's yet to have posted. We'll be in danger of losing momentum and steam for the RP if we continue with that, so everyone can go back to posting as normal. If they show up and feel snuffed about it, I'll take the full responsibilty for that.

So let's get this show on the road...again!

@shivershiver Perhaps, seen as we're not too many anymore. PM me a characther sheet, and we'll see what we can do ;)

@T Risket Haha, good to see that August knows when someone insults him :P Bloody marxist...
